Sorry for my ignorance but err why are we so hell bent on CB? We have enough numbers and no one seemed on the way out in last few days anyways. Besides we didn’t have a massive issue at the back, it was scoring that was the problem.

Enough numbers, not enough quality.

This window is right up there with the Moyes transfer window where we ended up with Fellaini.
4th place here we come!

A CB would be nice, but what we really needed were a pair of full backs and a RW.
The board has failed the club miserably.

17 mins until full meltdown. Sack Woodward, sack the board, they are not backing Jose, all our players are rubbish, everyone else has signed so many amazing players, going to be releagate, Jose will leave before the Leicester match.

I’m going to play meltdown bingo!

Edit 15 mins...

The centre back thing was always baffling to me. I would have liked to sign a good centre back but we had much more urgent issues at left back and right wing and it looks like we've completely ignored them.

Are people spending a 5th season hoping this will be the one where Shaw establishes himself?

Fred + Delot >>>>>>>>>> Fellaini for more than his release clause

but don't let that stop you good spin.

We were the Champions when we bought Fellaini.
City beat us by how many points last season?

But sure, Im spinning.

Ok good - thought it was just me missing the point with this phantom CB chase!

Spot on, thought it was just me!

I hope Woody is just waiting until the clock ticks down to 0:07 left like Bond does in Goldfinger........

Like why weren’t we all over this? FREE transfer!!!

We’ll end up bidding £60m next summer for him, knowing us!

How did chelsea come out looking better than us with window.

Ed Woodward is the core of the problem post Fergie.

This mismanagement on grandeur scale is absolutely Baffling i must say. You cant even get a player with zero Competition? Terribly run club we have become under Ed.

Mourinho made the point numerous times during his World Cup punditry gig that if a team's defenders aren't very good, the whole side has to play defensively in order to protect them.

Getting some better defenders in this summer would have meant Mourinho taking the handbreak off a little bit next season.

As it is, we'll be looking to grind out the results from day 1.

No ambition from the club when we had to make sure the manager had all the tools he needed to challenge on all fronts. I wonder what all the "wE hAvE X wEeKs LeFt" crowd thinking now..

Remember when he said we could do things in the transfer market other clubs could only dream of? This window has been the nightmarish interpretation of that claim.

We've not managed to shift any deadwood yet either other than Blind which is almost as frustrating.

that speaks volumes of good our squad players are. Something to keep in mind next time someone praises Darmian, Rojo, Fellaini or the rest of the brigade

But no one was close to leaving!
