How did chelsea come out looking better than us with window.

Ed Woodward is the core of the problem post Fergie.

This mismanagement on grandeur scale is absolutely Baffling i must say. You cant even get a player with zero Competition? Terribly run club we have become under Ed.
There's even a last minute story that they have agreed terms with Nabil Fekir. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Spot on, thought it was just me!
I agree that we needed a LB, baffling stuff. I just don't know why Shaw is getting yet another chance. He is this generations Anderson. You wonder if Jose has been told to keep him. I can understand him wanting a ball playing CB to try and generate attacking football from that area, Without one I can just see us hoofing the ball, usually because we are penned back and they are panicking. There is not an ounce of composure in most of our CB's and are disorganised. Most are headcases who get themselves injured. The one I actually have some hope for, if he is given a proper chance is Lindelof.

Cant help but feel very deflated.

Hopefully we get a good win tomorrow vs Leicester, otherwise it's going to be a long week :(

Mourinho made the point numerous times during his World Cup punditry gig that if a team's defenders aren't very good, the whole side has to play defensively in order to protect them.

Getting some better defenders in this summer would have meant Mourinho taking the handbreak off a little bit next season.

As it is, we'll be looking to grind out the results from day 1.
The whole team only has to play defensive in Jose's cowardly defensive mind.

Sorry for my ignorance but err why are we so hell bent on CB? We have enough numbers and no one seemed on the way out in last few days anyways. Besides we didn’t have a massive issue at the back, it was scoring that was the problem.

The legends are many, but one of them goes that if we had better CBs, we would be able to take more risks in attack instead of passing it among ourselves at the pace of arthritic turtles do. It would

us. I always found that assertion to be unsavoury though, as I think it's a bit harsh on those turtles.

Remember when he said we could do things in the transfer market other clubs could only dream of? This window has been the nightmarish interpretation of that claim.

Makes you wonder exactly what space has Ed been watching?
fecking parasite

They all deserve a slap.

Woodward for not spending.
Jose for not scouting available players.
Glazers because they're Glazers.

Writing was on the wall monday as far I was concerned, it never really felt like something was happening this week.

All down to Jose to manage this pretty decent squad to play well.

This window is right up there with the Moyes transfer window where we ended up with Fellaini.
4th place here we come!

Nah, this is way worse.

In that transfer window there was at least an excuse. Sir Alex and David Gill left leaving a massive void that two inexperienced (best word I could think of) people (Moyes and Ed) tried to fill. We had just won the league which covered up the cracks and the new manager who didn't have a clue couldn't see the wood through the trees what the team really was and needed.

This time round Ed has more experience and we have a manager who is also experienced at the top and has been here two full seasons so should know his team. There is no excuse for this shambles. Every man and his dog could see that a CM, LB, RB and RW is what we needed this year and all we got was a CM. If anything, the CM should have been the 4th priority considering the players we already have there.

Perhaps we have fallen further than we thought and 2nd was really seen as a great achievement. Maybe Jose means it with these players and the board think its because its two up from the minimum of 4th. Who knows. Either way, there doesn't seem to be an urgency to push on from last season. All we have to hold onto now is his change in tactic comment...

I’ve never been a fan of spending money after a World Cup anyway

And that's all folks, this was one of the worst transfer windows off all time for United. 2018-19 season is going to be a long long one for us fans.

Sorry! Something went wrong with the forum and my last post came out three times!

Things started to degenerate before Woody came to scene. Who can forget the value strategy that saw top players being replaced with mostly tripe?

Hold on didn’t we sign 3 players this window?

Counting Grant is similar to counting the community shield as a trophy. A third choice keeper to allow a young player to leave on loan.

We signed one player for the first team and a promising youngster. That's it. Net spend around 50m which will probably go down a bit once we sell either or both Darmian and Rojo.

I think this has to be the lowest spending we have ever had since Moyes left? Incredible, given our revenues. Hopefully we can use some of the money to get some more reinforcements in Jan if we are in need of some.

Time to support Jose and the boys - Come on United!!

Well there you go. One player for the first team and gaps all over the place.

Great Window...

Okay, but sir Alex was not too keen either to spend big. We have identified wrong players since than with managers playing poor football and missing out on strategic signings. And Who hired these managers in the first place ?

We spent 5 years trying to lure back Ronaldo and Bale and when he actually moved we had no clue and the other still won't come and then ronaldos arrival in some club screws our Lb plans.

We’ve signed a Brazilian international who’ll undoubtedly improve our midfield (whom City wanted too, by the way) and one of Europe’s most promising right-backs. Why are the emotional bellends crying like babies? We finished second last season and lost none of our big guns. It’s not been a superbly brilliant window but it’s been far from the dystopia many are banging on about. Get a grip, ffs.
