Oh I agree, you can tell when the morons on the board can’t get their Gareth bale who we have two players on that position, they will go out and sign Willian, much like matic. It seems the clubs priority is been made to look like complete inept fools by begging fellaini to stay, even though everyone else told him where to take his wage demands so he crawled back when everyone said no, that’s been their transfer priority this summer.

When the club is still happy to fill the squad with Valencia, young, jones, smalling, fellaini, mata, blind, darmian, lingard, these players are not treated has squad players, but they are key starting 11 players, not so much blind and Darmien but they still here, matic is another I don’t find good enough. This squad should have seen the end to these players, but they still here. If these players were back up it won’t be so bad, but they not. That says to me the board don’t understand squad building, because no way in hell would a winner like mourinho have these players about if he had the right funds, he would have them replaced. We well behind schedule in the rebuilding, with the boards penny pinching tactics once again showing like 2009-12 summers, these problems will never be solved, when they think Garth bale is the answer you know the board are clueless

I'm nervous about the new season after that Sarri, Mahrez and Alisson deal. What is our agenda? Do we have the complete squad according to Mourinho?

We usually has a blockbuster signing every season, is Fred the one?
 
Hopefully Mourinho will say in his press conference later on that we're still looking to add at least a couple. Frankly, we need another 3 or 4 - but I highly doubt we'll reach that number.

This squad has been pricey as feck to assemble, and yet we're still in a position where we still need to strengthen 3 to 4 positions.
Seeing Liverpool doing all the right things this season just makes me acknowledge how slow we've been.

Yep. I've started to suspect that we spend the TV money on players and wages and the rest of the money lines the glazers pockets. Our debt hasnt been wiped out so where's the money going from these huge sponsorship deals etc etc?

They money isnt going to sign the Neymar's and Mbappe's of the world that is for certain
The rate we are going top 4 seems to be enough
 
Our bigger players have huge problems with performance consistency. We do need signings, but getting increased performance out of our better players would be far more pleasing to me than spunking money left right and centre on players who are good, but don't enhance the collective unit.

Whether Jose is capable of being successful with this squad as it stands is probably the major question, and I would assume many on here think he isn't.

We are doing ok with the sigings we have made so far. Its a world cup year things will get moving faster now that the cup is over. All of the rumours make it apear as if clubs are wheeling and dealing and signing players left and right. That is just not the case.

We are not on equal footing with the clubs you mentioned up there. They all have better full backs & top midfielders.
United were already lagging behind before the end of last season. One would expect us to be aggressive as soon as the transfer window opened but we have signed players you would expect from Fulham FC.

How do we intend to compete with City & Liverpool(they are about to sign Alisson). Should Liverpool get him, they’d have solved all their problems bar Lovren. City are well stacked, they could win every league next season. Spurs have no weakness in their first XI. United have no full backs, no RW, need at least 1CB and a mobile DM.
 
What happened to the players at Sporting?? Wasn't there a mass resignation? No good players that we could pick?

He's meant to have a bad attitude from what I've seen, he's also massively inconsistent according to those on r/soccer.
 
If you missed it, I personally believe there is some truth to what Pilib de brun said in his periscope yesterday. He believes the squad is too full right now and we need to send sell a few players/send on load before bringing them in. I agree with this assessment. We don't need to sell for the money but more for the balance. If he is too be believe (which some would doubt) he claimed our first team squad is nearly 30 players. We all know that Jose likes smaller squads because he doesn't rotate as much.

It wouldn't shock me if once Darmian leaves, Sandro is brought in to replace. I don't think we will get a Centerback because we would have to sell at least 2 of Smalling, Jones, Rojo or loan Tuanzebe. The right wing I think will be decided after a few games of preseason. If Andreas Pereira looks good in preseason like he did last year I can see him getting a shot there and no purchase.

Some of you on here are out of your mind. You want players like Pereira, Tuanzebe Chong, ect to get chances in the first team yet want marquee signings. If we sign players it blocks them from regular first team minutes and forces an exodus like what is happening at City. I think our transfer activity will really get going after 1-2 preseason games, after we get a look at some of the young kids.

Young, rojo, Valencia, Matic, lingard are not players that you would want to count on to even think of winning a PL title. So that leaves us 5 short in a starting 11 filled with massive holes, fred will need time to bed in so already there has been no upgrades has the season starts. Young and Valencia are closer to 35 years old now, what top club? willingly goes into a new season with ageing converted wingers, well we were the only top club to sell Ronaldo and give the no 7 shirt to Michael Owen, while investing no money into the playing squad until summer 2014, and that was after finishing 7th

I agree we aren't close to city. Who is. We are in a far better position than everyone else. And still have time to do more signings. Liverpool have solved a go issue . They have solved nothing else and will stoll have to probably score 3 goals a game in average to win games because of the poor defence. Fabinho won't change that. Monaco shipped goals for fun the same way Liverpool do with him in the side .

Spurs have literally signed no one . If you are even half worried about them at this very moment then I honestly don't know what to tell you. You would probably still fret if we signed 10 Galacticos. A CB to replace one of Jones /Rojo /Smalling would be nice and it seems we are actively working on that. We signed a midfielder that will replace one that literally didn't play last season. I think many of you are underestimating that signing. We also signed a full back that can play both sides. I trust Jose who thinks he's great . If we sell Darmian for the money he's worth then we will most likely sign another. Jose already said he's happy with our attack. If not then we will sign someone. The pandemonium is ridiculous in here.

You can check the financial threads that are on the forum. Based on those, there's been nothing untoward done with the money and the Glazers take a pittance for themselves in comparison to the amount of profit. Lay off it.

IMO Only way we sign an attacker is if MARTIAL is sold, his pre season is so important, he needs to show he wants to stay and start games if he doesnt then none of his supporters can argue if he goes.

My take on this squad is that Valencia, Young, Rojo, Darmian and Mata should be sold.

I’m not panicking yet, last world cup year didn’t we sign 3 players on deadline day or around then? Falcao, Di Maria, and blind ?
 
If we sign a good RW, I can live with this window. We have very good players just need to use them well
 
What happened to getting the deals done early? Liverpool have definitely come out of the pre season in with the better business. I know there's still a few weeks left but I'm pretty disappointed, just waiting now come October who Jose will blame
 
I'm not sure how early it is anymore really I suppose a lot can happen in roughly three weeks though. I think people would be calmer if there were more clues about, but we've been reasonably good at doing business quietly lately when we want to.
