World Cup Betting Thread

Oh piss off Rodriguez. other than my Neymar to score 2 or more vs Croatia F*** all else has won for me. I'm leaving the rest of these knock out rounds for now.

Got Rodriguez first scorer and Colombia 2-0 @ 40/1. Blow the whistle ref.

Hope you took it. In regular time they even had close to 55%. Chile, that is, of course.

I did - should have put more on! I still think I might have misread that bet because the odds were just too long. 20 on it, 180 on chile over 15.5 fouls and 150 on the Brazil-chile over 30.5 fouls/Colombia over 52.5 possession all came off - I think. I went to spain today for a holiday and I can't bloody access 888sport because it's restricted access here. If I can't see the money it doesn't really feel like I won...

Holland vs Mexico, DRAW at HT, 10/11

Always a risky market but Mexico's and Holland last couple games have been a draw at halftime. May not have a direct bearing on todays game, but they both seem to step it up second half. In which case, you can play the second half as the highest scoring also at 10/11.

Have you tried using a proxy? That may work.

Also, Holland are around 21/20. Lump?

I'm confident in the Dutch tonight, especially since Vazquez is out for Mexico and he's a big player for them.

What do we do about the other game though?

Cheers Jimmy. Over 36.5 is a tough one...might have to give it a miss.

Chile to have more possession at 4/1
Chile over 15.5 fouls at 1.65 (inc. Extra time)
Brazil-Chile Over 30.5 fouls & Colombia over 51.5% possession at 2/1

51% possession for Chile
23 fouls for Chile
51 fouls in the Brazil-Chile game

£350 in, £700 withdrawn in the space of a day. :D

Just a small bet for today. Might just stick the remaining £100 on Greece to have over 2.5 offsides @ 1.65.

Two tricky games to call outright today. Costa Rica look attractive on paper but I'm going to research how they've done in the past against teams that sit back. Campbell won't get many chances to get in behind for me.

Does bet365 have possession bets?

What are people's picks, costa rica or greece?

It's an impossible call, IMO. We have no idea how Costa Rica will cope with being favourites in such an important game and Greece are always unpredictable. It's the type of game where a set piece or a mistimed tackle can decide the match so it's too risky to bet on.

EDIT: And no it doesn't look like Bet365 don't do those kinds of stats bets.

I've just found myself a nice easy bet. The odds are low so I wanted to pair it up with something obvious from the Costa Rica game, but I just haven't a clue. México like to build from the back and get the likes of Herrera and Guardado driving at players with the ball from deep, so I can't see De Jong making just the one foul in this game. México are likely to have more of the ball as well.

Tempted to go with costa rica on the basis that they came out of a group where they were the underdogs. For me, greece are lucky to be in the 2nd round, wasn't a penalty v. ivory coast. But yeah, definitely have no idea how they stack up with costa rica being favourites for the first time. They beat mexico in qualifications (which isn't saying much as mexico were shit) but they did beat USA at home 2 nil and lost to the states 1 nil away. It's gonna be a close match but if costa rica can hit greece early on it's game over for me. They can easily sit back and just wait for greece to attack and pick them off.

Also, I don't greece surrendering as much possession to costa rica as they did to ivory coast (1st half), colombia and japs (before the red card).

We'll see.

Seems like Colombia made all of us richer last night which is great.

How about Mexico to win tonight @ 4.1 against a European side not used to the humidity and hot tempretures.

The way I see it, Mexico won't mind playing extra time but the Dutch will be trying to finish the game in 90 minutes.

I'm looking forward to this open game with a possible comeback by both teams this evening.

I also like Mexico/Holland and Holland/Mexico HT/FT @32 and @44

Vamos El Tri!

Went for a draw in this one. Think both will tire towards the end and try to conserve energy if its equal after 70ish minutes.

Yikes, that's awful luck.

All you can do is laugh...at least something positive comes out of it! I'm going to take that as a sign that my luck has officially come to an end and I will bow out now
