Has anyone seen the 'What will happen first?' market with BetVictor?
A throw in is 4/6. Seems like good value to me. Free kick is 2/1. A throw in usually happens within the first 30 seconds, does it not?

It's pure lottery. Good luck if you take it.

EDIT: Win! (took it?)

I did but I'd never ever seen that market before so only put £2 on it!
It's already been credited too, very quick. Should have lumped on, shouldn't I!?
I'll be keeping an eye on that from now on.

The more variations the bookies offer the more chance they have of winning. If that gets offered on every single game then you could chase it really as a throw-in will bound to be the first out of corners, goal-kicks, free kicks more often than not, especially if a team kicks-off and tries to knock it long on the wing which happens now and again.

Thoughts on the crazy long odds of a Costa Rica vs England win and a USA vs Portugal win?

I'm definitely going to keep an eye on it. They offer goal, corner, free kick and throw in but no goal kick. It's offered in the next game at the same odds so I imagine it's on all games. I'm only going off memory but I think a throw in is the first of those maybe 7 times out of 10. If I were them I'd certainly not be offering it at that price.

If it is just those four outcomes then it is a tidy bet at odds of 4/6. It is the clear favourite and most likely outcome out of any of those potentials. Offering a goal in that market is quite ridiculous and certainly one for the chancer.

Any suggestions for Korea - Algeria?
I'm going for Algeria to win 1-0 (@8) and 2-1 (@11.5).
Very small stake obviously.

Anyone on Korea at 6/4. They have the much better side overall, few dodgy results over the past year or so but always against decent opposition like Mexico etc... Algeria are a good team with the home support behind them but not really up to much as a team, Feghouli is a tidy player but apart from him and maybe Bentaleb they are pretty poor.

I like Algeria and definitely fancy them to get a goal. South Korea looked good last time and I expect them to win 2-1 but I wouldn't put it past Algeria to pull off a result.

Backed Korea at 8/5. Betfair does my head in after you have won a bet - "You do not have the funds to place that bet". Yes, yes I do and it was settled over half an hour ago you muppets. Making me log out then back in.

I've absolutely nailed it the past few days. Been forgetting about results for the main part and I'm betting on goals and statistics. Loving it.

Right, Korea isn't happening. Gone for Portugal (dear god they are shit) at 10/11. If that comes in I'll be happy, if not I'm back in the betting free environment again.

Can't believe any of us went for Korea after having seen this opening half hour. This second round of games have been very hard to predict. This could be 5-0, easily. Algeria look a decent team and could quite easily beat Russia.

I'm steering well clear of USA v Portugal. Good luck to anyone that tries to predict that though I would hazard a guess at a high scoring 3-2 to Portugal.

Backed Algeria, couldn't believe they were 2/1. Also got £2 on Slimani to score 2 or more at 23/1 nice little earner if that comes in!

Well with Korea having 0 shots in that half and Algeria absolutely dominating, Algeria @ 9/2 to score 2 or more in the 2nd half looks good value. £5 on that for me.

I took 40 to 1 on Algeria to win the group before the Belgium game today, and based on this first half you'd fancy Algeria to beat Russia, but Korea don't really look capable of beating Belgium, so that's probably off.

Paid for it with Algeria to score, though, so won't cost me anything. Did the same with my Draw-Ghana bet and betting on Ghana to score yesterday.

Thoughts on U.S-Portugal? I think the Portuguese dominate the ball and exploit the defensively questionable American fullbacks a bit better than Ghana does, but I can't decide if I think the Americans will give them trouble on the break. Without Pepe and with Ronaldo never tracking back against the dangerous Fabien Johnson I could see it. Might just be on both teams to score.

Struggling to find much value in the Portugal game, think Portugal are decent odds but there's been that many upsets I'm tempted to stay away from match results.

Overs @ 1.75 looks decent as Portugal need to win as their goal difference from the first game leaves them in a bad position, but the worry is the USA might set up quite defensively as I think they'd take the draw.

USA @ 4.8 is ridiculous value IMO. Could easily upset Portugal.
Yup, I said this on the previous page.

I get why people have a "gut" feel that Portugal will win this game, but the odds on Portugal to win this are crazy, at least on betfair.

Even if you win, you've made the wrong decision IMO. 1.76 is an implied odd of 56.5%. Fifty six percent on Portugal to actually win, compared to a implied chance of 20% to the USA. If you think they should be 60 or 70% then sure, take the bet, but if you think they've got a 50% chance then it seems silly.

USA's defence and midfield protection is too poor to keep Portugal out I reckon, so they'll be forced to go looking for a goal one way or another and Ronaldo will make short work of them.

The first game is influencing people's opinions too much here IMO. It can't see it being anything other than an easy Portugal win. USA may score though.

I fancy a ronaldo card here too, at 7.8. He will get frustrated and do something stupid me thinks. Anyone know anything about the ref?

I´ll take your word about USA´s defence but our defence is pretty bad too. Going for the overs market would be the "safe" bet in my opinion

Costa Rica have been good, Mexico have been good. USA were the best of the lot in qualifying. Portugal couldn't come first above Russia in qualifying, and then managed to beat Sweden.

I don't *think* the USA will win, but I don't think the odds are value for Portugal.

They are also missing 2.5 players.

Had £50 on Algeria earlier at 3.10 so I'm happy with that. Dunno about this game now though, hard one to call and there's not much value in many markets. Surprised USA are at 4.8 though, definitely worth putting something on as I'm not confident at all with our defence.

Portugal for me tonight. USA weren't great against Ghana for me and I doubt they can keep ronaldo out. If Portugal score first early on, it could be brutal.
