Discussion Your Lineup Prediction

  • Hope we don't play 5 defenders again. It's not but in 343, but 5221 if anything.

We always look best when we are a goal behind, and we throw on attackers desperately trying to change the game.

No leaks, lads and lassies… I wonder why?

I don’t think it’s Rashford. Amorim said he sends out team selections on a WhatsApp group to the players so unless Rashford has been kicked out of that group, he’d still get that info.

Is this the third consecutive game with no leaks now? I’m taking that as such a positive sign.
Strong suspicion I think is that Nacho got caught and punished by being dropped from the City game. No coincidence it’s stopped since then.

I hope we're starting with de Ligt in the centre of the back three.

Pretty much our best 11 at this point, apart from Maguire in for De Ligt. Was a strong team against Bournemouth too though. Just need to start intently and take our chances, and not make the dumb mistakes

I would've like Eriksen at one of the 10 positions with Amad shifting to RWB.

Sense that i don't want to be too positive for games these days as we struggle almost weekly.

Cunha to score despite punching a staff member 2 games ago.

The blokes at the FA have gone in their Christmas holidays and we're going to pay the price for it.

We seem boring when we don't play Amad on the wingback.

He does look good in a more natural position, which is out wide. The problem is mainly due to not having actual wing backs, but he's the only one we could consider really a fit as such in this tactic.

A lot of pressure on Hojilunds shoulders today, hopefully he delivers if the service is there.

I do think that’s the better way for us to play currently as Dalot and Maz don’t seem natural wingbacks and it basically means we are playing 3 attackers when we play with them. Play Amad wingback and bring in Garnacho or Zirkzee and just give us a bit more attacking threat and chance of combinations on the right.

The squad is missing that player that opposition will fear.

The lineup just lacks that something special.

I hope United score first today and they can relax, otherwise it’s gonna be another long match.

Really don't like Dalot and Mazraoui as the wingbacks in this system, but tbf to Amorim playing Amad at wingback was a lot easier before Mount got injured and Garnacho & Rashford did whatever they did to get dropped.

I think he is a natural 10. It's just that we don't have very good attacking wingbacks on either flank. I'd like to see Antony as a right wingback to see if they can combine well.

You don't think other teams currently fear Amad? I bet they all have instructions to deal with his dribbling and pressing right now.

Agree outside of that and maybe Hojlund it's a bit too easy to play against for defenders.

Really don’t get why he doesn’t try out Antony as LWB, this 5-2-2-1 is killing me slowly.

I'm equally frustrated with Antony as RWB as I am with him at RW. I think there may have been a match where we were already losing heavily where he came on as LWB, did he not? Theoretically, he should work better there.

Really not feeling that combo of Ugarte and Mainoo with Bruno in the left 10.

I honestly can't stand it, Ruud proved that United's most balanced midfield is Case / Ugarte.

Mainoo for all intents and purposes is a 10, he's being shoehorned into a double pivot despite him being a striker / winger in youth games, similar trajectory to Pogba being misprofiled as a deep midfielder.

Especially considering Kobbies best moments at United and in the cup final was from advancing further up the pitch.
