With a fully fit squad, what is our best xi according to you?

I'd like to see Bruno more in a free role where it doesn't matter too much if he loses the ball.
Onana

Dalot - De Ligt - Martinez - Shaw

Casemiro - Ugarte - Mainoo

Amad - Bruno - Garnacho

Or: with Højlund

Onana

Dalot - De Ligt - Martinez - Shaw

Ugarte - Mainoo

Amad - Bruno - Garnacho

Højlund
No matter what formation you do it always seems like we need a 12th man in there. We need a star/World class player, really. And it's either as a striker or a winger. Hopefully INEOS adresses that issue next.

I haven't seen enough of Bayindir to be sure that he's the answer, but I'm convinced that Onana isn't a Manchester United level goalkeeper. Assuming I take a chance on Bayindir

Bayindir
Dalot,
De Ligt
Licha
Shaw
Ugarte
Buno
Mount
Amad
Rasmus
Garnacho

We're asking too much of Mainoo right now, he should be a rotation / bench option.

Mainoo is still in my XI but I agree he would be well served by being rotated. As for Onana, it’s now time to evaluate whether Bayandir can offer us a batter option than Onana. But ETH’s stubbornness will eventually be his undoing.

Looking at the first names on the team sheet

Onana
Bruno
Mainoo
Dalot
Licha
Shaw
De ligt
Ugarte
Garnacho
Holjund
Mount

So it's

Onana
Dalot, de ligt, licha, Shaw
Ugarte
Bruno, mainoo
Garna, holjund, Mount

Bayinder, yorro, Maguire, Mazzouri, Casemiro, Erickssen, Amad, rashford, zirzkee

Evans,lindelof, malacia, Antony,

On paper this isn’t our best team but I do feel like it would produce better results if we used it and they could stay fit.
Watching us just seems like we lack in midfield and would rather solidify that for right now before trying to bring back in Bruno and the likes. Having Ugarte somewhat protect Cas’s back would probably get the best out of Cas at this point of his career.

Hopefully he shakes off his major screw ups from last week and comes good to get us through the season so that we can part ways come next summer.

Onana
Dalot-DeLigt-Martinez-Shaw
Ugarte
Casemiro-Mainoo
Amad—Rasmus—Garnacho

Same team except Mazaroui for Dalot

De Ligt ---- Martinez
Dalot --------------------------------------------- Shaw
----- Ugarte
Casemiro --------------------------
---------------------------
Mainoo
Bruno ----------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------
Rashford
Hojlund -----

Shaw will never be fully fit so this is the line up that I would like to see more going forward (probably not the best line up but at least the line up that at least will give me some hope to look forward).

----------------------------Onana--------------------------
Mazraoui---------De Ligt-----Martinez---------Dalot
------------------Ugarte---------Mainoo----------------
Amad---------------Bruno---------------Garnacho
--------------------------Hojlund-------------------------

I think Yoro is going to be better than De Ligt. It will be him plus one when he settles in.

I'll plump for:

Onana
Dalot Yoro De Ligt (Shaw)
Amad Ugarte Mainoo Rashford
Bruno
Zirkzee

Mainoo - Ugarte - Bruno
Garnacho - Hojlund - Rashford

Despite Rashford's atrocious form, Amad hasn't had a full 90 minutes without a significant performance drop atm. So if he continues that, he can easily take over Rashford's place.

No Martinez?

Sick note. I'm not saying he can't get in the team but he's got to show he can both be available consistently and play consistently well. I'm not sure he'll be able to do that even though he's a very good player.

De Ligt won't be super consistent I don't think but hopefully moreso than Maguire, so if he stays fit I reckon the place will be his. I'm fed up of a constantly changing back line, it's actually one of the things we bought Maguire and AWB to try to address, but then bought new sick notes to go on top.

Looking at these line-ups just makes me think United are not capable of having a title challenge yet.

Good news is the team is looking full of potential, but it will take a few more years to develop.

Also interesting that 2/3 of the experienced trio (Casemiro, Bruno, Rashford) are missing from most line-ups.

Martinez plays when fit. He's our best CB by a MILE.

Well he was fecking terrible against Liverpool and he can't stay fit so...let's see. I like Martinez but defenders need to stay fit and achieve a consistent level, it's part of the job if you want to play at the top.

Onana (I'm open for Bayindir to come in as well. Dont rate Onana but we've spent the money on him )

Mazroui Yoro Martinez Shaw
Mainoo. Ugarte
Amad. Mount. Garnacho
Hojlund

Onana
Dalot Yoro Martinez Shaw
Ugarte Mainoo
Garnacho Bruno Rashford
Hojlund
Mazraoui and Dalot is probably the only position I'm 50-50 on. Need to see how Ugarte does really. I'm not as convinced that Casemiro is completely finished. Not thrilled with any of our striking options but hoping Hojlund improves this season.

Considering Amorim's preferred formation I think this is our best starting eleven with the players we have in the squad assuming everyone is available

--------------- Onana --------------------
-------Yoro-----MDL----Martinez---
Mazraoui -------------------------Shaw
-------------Mainoo---Ugarte---------
--------Amad --------------- Bruno* -----
-------------------Rasmus------------------

*I know his goal and assist contributions are high but honestly I think he may even be detrimental to the overall team. Maybe Mount is a better option purely to make this team operate as a unit

Onana
Yoro - De Ligt - Martinez
Dalot - Ugarte - Mainoo - Mazraoui
Bruno - Amad
Hojlund

Onana

Yoro
De Ligt
Martinez

Mazaraoui
Casemiro
Ugarte
Shaw

Amad
Bruno

Rashford

Even though I don't rate Marcus, he's still way better than hojlund and zirkzee whilst being an academy player.

Onana
Yoro - De Ligt - Martinez
Mazraoui - Ugarte - Mainoo - Shaw
Mount - Amad
Bruno

our forwards cant score to save their lives, so let attacking midfielders have a go. Bruno as a false "9"

I don't like the idea of playing two fullbacks in the wing-back positions, as I don't think any of our fullbacks offer the required attacking threat. But I also don't know which of our attackers function best in that role, so it would be a case of learning by trying. Amad had a good go at it today.

But wing-backs aside, I would like to see:

Onana
Yoro - De Ligt - Martinez
X - Ugarte - Mainoo - X
Bruno - Hojlund - Mount

Yeah I think the biggest thing that jumped out to me is that none of our full backs are really suited to playing in the wing back roles, even a fully fit Shaw. You need them to up and down pacy wingers in this system, basically a prime Valencia. Which is unfortunate as well because Mazraouai has been easily our best signing and yet there isn't a really a place for him here other than as a RCB which isn't really his best position.

Onana
Yoro De Ligt Martinez
Amad Ugarte Mainoo Shaw
Bruno Hojlund Rashford/Mount

... is probably the best we can do for now.

This is probably our most balanced and best XI in my opinion, and it is still far from good enough to compete for the league.
It favours maximized ball retention and the ability to press. Both things that we are sorely lacking.

Hojlund is nowhere near good enough.
He is just better than our other striker options.

Yoro. MdL martinez
Mazroui. Bruno. Ugarte. Garnacho
Amad Mount.
Rashford

Offensively:

Onana
Yoro, De Ligt, Lisandro
Mazraoui, Garnacho
Mainoo, Ugarte
Amad, Hojlund, Bruno

When the team loses the ball, I would organizate these 11 players this way (this is how I would press and structure the team for deffensive transitions):

Onana
Mazraoui, Yoro, De Ligt, Lisandro
Amad, Mainoo, Ugarte, Garnacho
Hojlund, Bruno

(Basically RWB/Mazraoui would have more deffensive obligations than LWB/Garnacho and RF/Amad would have more deffensive obligations than LF/Bruno)

Actually 2 options:

Onana
Mazraoui, De Ligt, Lisandro
Diallo, Malacia/Amass
Ugarte, Mainoo
Bruno, Hojlund, Garnacho

Onana
Yoro, De Ligt, Lisandro
Mazraoui, Garnacho
Ugarte, Mainoo
Amad, Hojlund, Bruno

I would say the only doubt is who plays upfront, if Garnacho or Amad. If it’s Garnacho, the traditional full back will be the LWB (Meaning: Amad RWB). If it’s Amad upfront, the traditional full back will be the RWB (Meaning: Garnacho LWB).

If Amad plays RWB, it might be Mount playing with Bruno and Hojlund upfront too.

Onana
Yoro-De Ligt-Martinez
Amad-Mainoo-Ugarte-Garnacho
Bruno - Mount
Rashford
When we need to go defensive then we can add players like Mazroui, Shaw, Dalot etc.

I think this is why we want to go with Brantwaithe though - play very tall and physical CB's so we can play more attacking wingbacks.

Id like to see Amad's ability to play as a RAM and someone like Antony given one final chance at RWB.

Looking at those lineups, Yoro has a good chance for POTY award. At least as long as he doesn't play football. Reality check will certainly be very interesting.

Onana
Yoro Martinez Shaw
Amad Ugarte Mainoo Maz
Bruno Mount
Rashford
Mount and Rashford are not good enough but we don't have better for those positions.
Yoro out of hope more than anything else.
Martinez because we need someone more comfortable on the ball and who is more aggressive. De ligt is the definition of mediocrity.

We need a XI of players who are intelligent and are comfortable on the ball. We won't go anywhere without raising the technical level of this team. System won't work if we have too many players in the XI who have bad touches and are bad passers. We can carry only so many.

:lol:Crazy expectation on a teenager at new club in a different country coming back from injury into a team with a brand new manager.

Width need to be provided by one of front three from left side. Bruno, half fit mount and rashford in same team can't provide that pressing from the front.

Chelsea had kante in this formation with jorginho or kovasic as partner to provide protection. With hardworking front three consists of mount,Werner and Havertz.

We never struggled for width though with James when he was at his physically best version and chilwell too.

Without kante and James that team struggled to create and defend. We witnessed that.

Onana
Yoro De Ligt Shaw
Garnacho Ugarte Mainoo Mazraoui
Amad Bruno
Rashford/Hojlund

Amad did well yesterday, but I'd rather see him closer to goal and controlling the game more. Rashford and Hojlund seem much the same at the moment.
Garnacho definitely doesn't fit the 10 position, looked completely lost yesterday

Onana
Maguire De Ligt Martinez
Amad. Ugarte. Mainoo. Shaw
Mount. Bruno
Garnacho

If all actually fit then Shaw and Mount would be starters for us.

Yoro is an unknown quantity so I've got Maguire in the three until Yoro shows where he's at in development

Garnacho up top given that we'll never be a real for a big striker and I'd rather have his quality than rely on a subpar Hojlund, Zirkzee or Rashford

Onana
Yoro-- De Ligt --Martinez
Mazraoui - Mainoo--Ugarte--Garnacho
Amad -- Bruno

Most of these line-ups look like a 4th at best kinda team.
No way. You simply couldn't reach 4th with any of these formations. We simply don't have the quality in the squad. Even with our best and healthy starting XI 6-7th would be the maxium.

3-4-2-1 for Amorim reasons: Onana; Martinez, De Ligt, Maguire; Shaw, Casemiro, Mainoo, Mazraoui; Fernandes, Diallo; Hojlund.
