Winter Olympics 2010 Vancouver

Missed the Canada match heard that they surprisingly had help from the refs as usual *cough cough:angel:

 feck off

If you watch the game without some sort of anti-canadian bias we were the ones fecked over by the refs at times too, it went both ways.

End of the day it was a brilliant hockey game, don't understand how the Swiss losing 3-2 in a shootout is all the refs fault... I hate fecking biased opinions, i'd love to skin them all.

It was a tale of 2 contrasting styles: The Giant vs The Minnow, the Firepower vs the Extinguisher, The Rich vs the Working, it was a classic match between David and Goliath in all aspects of the game, and in the end Goliath won because of a single glimmer of magic by some kid named Sidney.

I've seen better hockey games, but the storylines changed so much in the game it was the definition of Olympic hockey, the way the Swiss played they deserve all the accolades they recieve, in my opinion they played to their strengths which met our weaknesses.

We did outshoot them 45-18, in any other circumstance we would have won the game by a blowout, but like in 2006, they played hard and when we couldn't take advantage, they pounced.

If I'm not mistaking we now have the two most winning winter olympians ever in Bjørn Dæhlie (12 medals) and Ole Einar Bjørndalen (10) medals.

It wouldn't be very surprising if Ole Einar got two more during these Olympics either.

What's left for the biathletes now? The mass start and the relay? He'll definitely be on the podium after the mass start imo as he can afford at least one more miss that everyone else. It'll be interesting to see who gets the final spot on the relay team. Bø seems to be the favorite but Os is in fine form. Berger's too much a risk and hopefully out of any discussion. He'll probably get the 3rd stage for the cross country relay.

Right. Super-G for menn today. I have great hopes for Aksel Lund Svindal in this. And 15 km with one change of skis for women. Bjørgen has a chance here. What do the rest of you noggies think?

Oh yeah, that too. Romøren has been dropped. Remen Evensen, Hilde, Bardal and Jacobsen are jumping for Norway

Yeah, those two left. Pretty sure Bø will be nr. 4.

Do I have to be either? I really don't know how that location thing got there.

Of course not. Just thought you might be.

Romøren is so cool isn't he? He just oozes cool. He's even got those skeleton-gloves you know.

So cool. Too cool.

So cool.

Err, look at some of the Summit Series and Canada Cup games.

I know about those, but the summit series were not tournaments and this is the olympics after all.

There's great talent at display and there's potential for some fantastic games in the playoff rounds.

What the heck is "15 km med skibytte"? Do they actually change skis midways, as part of the race? And will Bjørgen win it?

Is it me or has the organisation at the events of these games been a complete shambles? Every event Ive seen has had some kind of hitch, bar none.

What the feck is it with these Swedes? That was nasty.

Ah poor Swedes, they should've stayed home.

He's moving, good.

According to Thomas Alsgaard the cross country gold medals will come shrimping on a board now.

Well, it's now twice as good as Torino. I was fairly pessimistic from the first day on, particularly after, to put it mildly, poor start. Now we seem to be winning (or getting silver/bronze) in everything we do. Still some bad luck, but it can turn out to be a decent Olympics. Not Lillehammer-style, but decent.
