Wimbledon 2012

Match back on.

Malisse playing pretty well. Federer needs the first set. He's not moving well. Don't think he'll last the distance if Malice gets a set or two.

Federer broken.

Malisse to serve for the first set. Federer's movement looks labored. This is fecked up.

It's pretty weird watching Federer play every shot at half pace.

He's just placing some shots putting little power behind them.

But to be fair, that was a class break despite the lack of thrust from Federer.

Federer better win today. A Djokovic Youzny semi final will be stunningly boring.

What is Malisse thinking? If he keeps the ball in court he has won half the battle.

With Nadal out who would you prefer to win Wimbledon?

And if you had to choose Federer or Djokovic?

I'd imagine if you were a Nadal fan, short-term it's better for Federer to win to halt this Djokovic dominance, but then longer term you'd want Djokovic to go and do it as to limit the number of Grand Slams Rafa will need to overhaul Fed.

I don't think Nadal will break Federer's record of 16 Slams anyway so I think I'd prefer a Djokovic win..just about. But I would want Federer to win if he's up against Murray in the final.

I'm hoping for a Tsonga/Del Po/Ferrer win though but that's not too likely.

Wait0, if you think he can't beat Federer's record then surely toppling Djokovic as the current best player would be the priority?!

I don't think Murray will win. He's just too passive.

Well I like Djokovic so it doesn't really bother me if he wins the title here and even if he were to lose here he'd still be the best player currently imo. And besides, it's only when he's up against Nadal that I want him to do really badly.

And I agree on Murray. Can't really see him winning this tournament even with Nadal out.

Good lord, Fed in his usual mid match meltdown. Down a break in the 4th as well now.

Fed vs Youzny in the QF. Another easy one for R Fed.

Tsonga just lost the first set to Fish and Murray took the first vs Cilic.

Federer really struggled, supposedly got low back pain.

Really can't see him winning Wimbledon, won't beat Djokovic in the SF, if, and that's a big if, he gets past Youzny. His movement is super slow, and really detrimental to his base-lining at the moment.

Fed will beat Youzny. Djokovic on the other hand will be extremely difficult.

Was watching Murray play for the first time this tournament at work and I have to say he didn't look that convincing against Cilic despite being in a strong position.

Is Troicki tired or is he just a bit shit? Because I don't think he is that shit. Weird.

That was a funny moment.

Christ knows why Murray got shunted onto Court One today though. For Ana Ivanovic's match? Have they got money on Djokovic winning the tournament or something?

Im surprised too, poor scheduling. Instead they got this non-story djokovic vs Triocki on Centre.

Apparently he's not allowed to play every match on centre (unfair advantage?), so has to play one game on Court one and that was as good a game as any.

Ah. Well you do wonder why they wouldn't just get it out of the way earlier on against an easier opponent, with better weather than just putting him there against a tough opponent with two days of rain forecast.

Oliver Holt is whining on Twitter that they aren't going out of their way to help Murray win the tournament. Stick to football, Oliver.

Actually, don't.

Yeah just been reading them, never good when a journalist comes across as badly misinformed. I'm not a fan of his articles although he's usually quite insightful on twitter.

Given the shit weather and forecast, surely they should have tried to squeeze another game onto centre court tonight, seeings as it has a roof, rather than finishing for the evening at 8pm.

Yeah I guess there must be rules that prohibit them from changing the scheduling like that. Otherwise it does seem the logical thing to do.

Djokovic vs Troicki is about as predictable as Nadal vs Verdasco.

Worse, given Troicki a much worse player. Yesterday was one of the most inept inept performances I've seen of late. He seemed not even bothered given some of his shot selection and lack of concentration.

Why can't they start play on Centre Court earlier to fit in more matches on the day?

It does seem stupid, given they spent so much money putting the roof on Centre Court (not to mention the song and dance that accompanied it) that they then seem reluctant to actually use the damn court to its full potential!

Agreed.

Ferrer about to take a 2 sets to love lead against Del Potro. Been very disappointed with the latter. He's made way too many errors.

Tsonga 2-1 up on Fish. That's a relief because he's the only one in that half of the draw who can beat Murray.
