I rate him v highly. Can see him not being completely happy given he seems below Hazard & Pedro in the pecking order - a fact that culminated in him starting against Spurs beg a 'gamble' by Conte.
Probably because Willian was in the team as an attacker at first when Moses first got played there. Moses was playing well and when Willian came back from personal leave (his mother died) he couldn't get back into the team as Pedro and Moses were playing well.

Depth. He shouldn't start over Mkhitaryan. He would be very good competition for Mata and can push Lingard down the order. United need quality depth and if that player is willing to come to United who has also played previously and won under Jose, then we should be for it.
Get why some would want to aim higher and perhaps look at a more exciting option, but some really over the top and strange comments here. "Devastated to sign him" - really?!

The money can be better spent on actually upgrading the squad, instead of buying a player whose level is similar to the ones we already have for that position.

Comparing Willian to Mikel is an insult. Willian is one of the best wide attacking players in the league, even if he doesn't start every game for us.
Death is easier to come to terms with than that debacle.

What does a wingback have to do with Willian? He directly competes with Pedro not Moses. Conte clearly prefers Pedro but other managers (like Mourinho) would prefer Willian.

He doesn't have 'very good' technical ability. He's not a 'great' passer. Tactically intelligent... Yeah, how are you measuring that? He's very fast, he works his bollocks off, and he scores free kicks. He's a respectable player, but there's not much more than that.
Coutinho, Mata, and Mkhitaryan I would consider #10's rather than wingers. They aren't players who are as effective out wide. Their primary role as creators are very different to Willian's.
Forgot about Sané. Blows hot and cold as expected since he's a teenager.
Martial has missed out completely on your 18 multiple times this season, hasn't he? In a team that can't score goals that says a lot. Not on Willian's level.
Sterling is a headless chicken with zero end product. Not on Willian's level.
Our shit season last year must have made people forget how great Willian was last season. Scored in double digits this season still despite limited minutes.
Mourinho would love him there and he'd start ahead of Martial.
