William Carvalho

If I had £37m i will personally buy him for United. Incredible stupid decision not to pursue such a talented player this summer. Seeing how we bought Fellaini for £27m, I doubt we have a competant scouting team.

We reportedly scouted Carvalho 20ish times so clearly there was something they liked about him. Just a case of van Gaal not being interested in him.

What a pity. I would love to see his alternative option. Godforbid it is what we currently have. Beit, if Van Gaal give Carrick and Fellaini his death stare, he would probably turn those players into Zinadine Zidane .

We've sacked them, so we have a new scouting team who had nothing to do with Fellaini.

Ugh, yeah we all know about him but one of the top coaches in the world is a doddery old fool who only watches Dutch players....

There were players that Fergie didn't know about, such as Hamsik I think it was. Let's not forget this guy has been concentrating on international football for the past four years. He's not exactly got a team of scouts watching Portuguese club football. He may be aware of who he is but knowing enough to sign him? I doubt it.

We only know him because he's constantly linked to us.

Incredible that that is a real time Gif of that moment.

Daily express has come out with some real rubbish since the season ended. They are just guessing by the looks of things.

As i understood he is looking to stay there for one more year.

I'm sure he will change his tune when someone waves 100k a week at him.
Maybe he would, but would you want a player like that? I mean it's one thing to give somebody who has been here for a decade a huge wages even if he was a bit of twat. But putting 22-years old players(or 19 like Shaw) on 100k per week just seems way desperate. I'd even say pathetic.

If we're back in for him then I didn't mean any of those things I said when Liverpool were linked with him.

He's easily the best player I've never seen play.

30 million on Luke Shaw (18-year-old left back). 40 million on Carvalho (22-year-old, unproven Portugese midfielder). 60 million on Reus (nice player).

I know it's tough to do, but if you could put yourself in the shoes of someone from another club, what do you think their reaction would be? I can only imagine one of laughter.

They'd laugh at us spending money? It's the clubs money to spend however they see fit after years of success on and off the pitch.

If it takes £30m and £100k a week to attract an 18 year old then something is wrong but we're going to have to pay a premium when not in Europe. I'm happier if we redistribute our wealth amongst sides like Southampton or Sporting Lisbon than giving it to Chelsea who are direct competitors.

Nice player? Is that all you can say about Reus?

If Chelsea or City signed Reus for £60m I'd shit myself.

It's the total lack of value and the lack of availability (in Reus' case) that I find funny. Spending money is not the issue. How you spend your money is important. I am just saying that spending 70 million on two largely unproven players might not be the wisest option. I also think there's better out there for United for much less, less hype and less ego.

The criticism is of people speculating over which players we want to bring in and then suggesting an absurd strategy for signing them. I really do think it makes us look stupid. You can have a different view, of course.

The same laughing reaction everyone had when City signed Fernandinho, a 28 year old playing in Ukraine with only a few Brazil caps? That laughing didn't last very long.

Also Id rather people laughing at us for paying 30mil for Herrera last summer than Fellaini.

* 30 Mill on Luke Shaw - an 18 year old sensation that will stand the club for well over a decade.
* 40 Mill on Carvalho - a 22 year old 'box to box' midfielder that had been touted as the 'New Yaya'.
* 60 Mill on Marco fecking Reus - this needs 0 explanation.

If Citeh and Chelski signed any of these players - especially Reus, I would be incredibly disappointed! All three of these players immediately make us a better team. Clubs are aware that we are in the market and they will slap very large price-tags on their players. Don't be such an idealistic poster. Modern football is increasingly bizarre and when clubs like PSG are buying players like Luiz for £50 Mill - what do you expect!?

He's been linked to Monaco in the past, and bow with Jardim taking over there I'd expect them to throw their considerable bank at him.

Rumours we already refused a 33 million euros bid from them.

When we were linked with this guy for 30 million earlier in the season I thought it was a ridiculous amount. Now, after all the silly prices being talked about in the last couple of months, it actually seems quite reasonable. We haven't been linked with him since LVG took over though, so doubt we're interested.

I think William Carvalho is a good replacement for Carrick. Doesn't have to replace him straight away, they can have certain amount of games each and gradually William becomes the no1 DM

What's the bets we don't sign him as hes unproven, and he goes elsewhere and is absolutely brilliant.
