And with his fathers comments about him preferring his son to move to Spain. This could be one that ends in tears.

Where???

Ffs I really rate this guy, looks like such a solid player, would be ideal if we brought in somebody like Kroos.

He was asked by A.Bola .England or Spain and he replied "I'd like to see him in Spain". How big an influence he as on his sons football career is another thing.

The good new's is it won't be Barca this summer. And unless Madrid need their 4th DM I doubt it'll be them either.

Barcelona will appeal and buy loads of reinforcements this summer I think. Doubt this guy will be one of them though. They won't spend £20m+ on a backup for Busquets.

You do know they still have a transfer embargo on them for the next two windows right?

They're appealing, obviously.

UEFA probably won't suspend their transfer activity before their appeal is heard, I think that would potentially be illegal and the appeal with take ages. Certainly longer than four months.

They will sign players in the summer to cover the next few windows. Then take the hit on the ban next summer if they're found guilty.

Daily Mail, I know, but it's a simple concept and pretty obvious that's what they'll do. Plus it has quotes from Barcelona higher ups.

I do think we will do our business very early with the exception of one signing or so that will be completed after the world cup, however, all deals will be done early on.
There are a few other media sites reporting the same so maybe there is something in this story. Not surprised by it as we've been scouting him for months. I can see the Kroos transfer being a long-drawn saga.

...Ending in tears.

Has anyone mentioned Osman yet?

Seriously guys, we're going to struggle to bring the quality players we need.We were never big spenders + we cant offer CL football this time round. I wont be surprised if we sign VG ie a manager whose renowned to work with what he has and develop talent rather then buy ready made options

I don't think they will bother appealing this though, It wasn't like a Pogba or a Kakuta situation, the apparent charges relate to over 10 different players. The only reason Chelsea got away with it was because they settled out of court - Barca won't be able to do that with 10 different situations.

They've already said they're appealing. I don't think they expect to win but they want to buy time so they can spend in the summer.

Doesn't matter, we can always rely on you to bring the standard down.

cheers mate!

Needless to say that you should have quoted and commented on the entire post and not only on the most insignificant part of it but thats how some of you think and act. Who am I to stop you?

It was the most tedious part. Which is why I quoted it, to show how tedious you are.

So you dont care about discussing at all. I see. Im impressed with your maturity. Keep it up.

Discuss what? Your tedious reiteration of doom? No thanks, instead I'll try and give you a subtle heads up that the sort of shite you and others are posting is wearing thin. Now take heed.

I'm getting all tingly downstairs...

I really hope so, that really would be the ideal scenario, could not be dealing with another stressful yet shitty summer transfer window.

Carvalho remains our most viable transfer target, I reckon. For all the player's we've been linked with, this is the one I expect.

and the type of midfielder we actually need

Yep. I'm with Kid, in that there is an expectancy to this deal that I don't have with any of the players we've been linked with. It is one of those transfers that just seems to make sense for all parties. It would be an early blow to the summer if we miss out on this guy.

35m for a player that has had one good season in the Portuguese league is even better business than 7m on Bebe. Must be Mendes.

I wont be so sure about that. I was one who laughed at Bebe but in Portugal he's delivering the goods. 11 goals in 24 appearances is no joke.

It seems Fergie, Charlton and the rest wanted a 'yes' man, someone who will be grateful for getting the job and not change things. Its backfiring. If not Moyes United were probably going to go for a foreigner and I don't think the old guard would've been too comfortable with that.

What an insult to those two legends. Ridiculous.

No issues with us signing a young potentially great player regardless of the cost. This has served us well in the past and we’ll reap the benefits of De Gea, Jones and Smalling for years to come.

I do have some concerns though. Based on what I’ve read in this thread Carvalho is a more defensive minded midfielder. To me Giggs has shown the type of midfielder we really need and it’s no shock that some of our best performances were with him in midfield, it’s just a shame that at his age there are quite a few limitations he has. Sir Alex knew this team better than anyone, and it’s no surprise his (Not Moyes’) preferred targets last summer were Thiago and Ander Herrera, 2 players who you wouldn’t typically associate with being great defensively. Also probably goes along way in explaining why Anderson lasted here as long as he did.

Any midfield combination of Fellaini/Carrick/Carvalho while being defensively solid will still bring about the issue of us having a hard time creating chances and playing terrible football. You could suggest that it would be great if we added Kagawa, Mata or Rooney and make it a 3 to add some creativity which would probably work, but probably won’t happen out of fear of upsetting whoever has to play a role they may not like or whom it may put on the bench.

Or we buy two midfielders.

If @moses finally bans Devilish, I reckon 95% of the board will celebrate.. You know you want to moses....

Unless Moyes really does want us to play sh*t on a stick football then I'd imagine we'll be adding Carvalho and a more creative midfielder (Kroos or more likely someone else in a similar vein).

2 quality dm would allow us to play with mata, rooney, kagawa/januzaj and rvp without losing ball possession or impact the defense

Or we buy two midfielders.

That would be ideal so we can snap up a talented youngster in Carvalho and get what we need.

Unfortunately, the other midfielder will likely be another Fabregas situation. I also doubt Moyes has any clue what we need, seeing as he passed on both Thiago and Herrera but then bought Fellaini and allegedly went after more defensive midfielders in De Rossi and Khedira.
