Or

Kroos - Carvalho

Kagawa - Mata - januzaj

Rooney
That's how I prefer it, Kroos really is my ultimate muppet fantasy, we would have great strength to come in also if we keep hold of Carrick, Wellbeck, Nani, RVP, Hernandez.
Loads of options formation wise to, 4-4-2, 4-5-1, 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3, you could easily play anyway you wished with all players being in position and comfortable.

Gundogan - Carvalho

Kagawa - Mata - Januzaj

Rooney

Holy smokes.

I'd rather a faster, and more goalscoring alternative to Shinji. Although Adnan could become that player to be fair. I see a potential Hazard-like talent in him.

Perhaps. Although the more Welbeck develops, I think he will become even more of a #9. I see a lot of Adebayor in him.

No doubt he'll become a very good #9 one day, but I think he's got everything necessary to be a good inverted winger. Sure he didn't put it together last year but he's got; pace, dribbling, strength, work-rate, movement...if he can consistently add finishing and perhaps a long range shot to that list, you've got yourself a very good inverted winger.

Yea he certainly has the attributes, but I think his size, which may still increase, will ultimately be better served engaging centre-halves that's all.

Would like to see this.

As a Sporting Fan I see much of Dier he is a very promising center back who can also play as a defensive midfielder tho he is better as a cb ...He is tall strong and reads the game well he also has a decent freekick on him.....someone got it spot on when they said he was similar to phil jones hes a great talent and he will probably move to the premier league in the future as for other exciting talents coming thru our youth academy we have a lot

I wrote this in September:

It´s still early stages and i don´t see any standout talents, just some potencially good players. My favourite Sporting player is actually english. It´s Eric Dier. He´s a 19 year old Center back who can play as defensive Cm also. Eric has been at Sporting since early age because his parents moved to Portugal. He went through the Sporting Academy and combines some of the latin technical attributes he earned at the Academy with the professional approach and work ethic of an English player. His performances last year were very encouraging and our former coach liked to play him at midfield since he had good positional sense, good passing ability and a very imposing physique thanks to his 6ft2in. He called him the English Beckanbauer. This year our Manager is playing him as a Center Back again. He was flawless in our win against Olhanense but in the last game where we draw at home against Rio Ave he made some mistakes. But that´s just natural in a player with just 19 years of age and with 15 appearences as a senior player. I also like his attitude. Grateful towards Sporting and willing to renew. Due to the nature of our league, sooner or later we will probably sell him. He´s a potencially great player and since he is english, if he evolves well, i think he will be involved in the biggest transfer in our history, surpassing Nani´s or Ronaldo´s sale value. We know how the english clubs are willing to splash out on english talents and with one which was formed in one of the best footballing schools in Europe, no doubt we will capitalize on that.
It´s December now and he has been in and out of Sporting´s main team. He´s been playing in the B team lately because the current manager favours the Rojo (argentinian international) and Maurício partnership. Although i like Dier, this partnership is doing well and the manager can´t replace an Argentinian international for an English u21. Even so i think we will sell Rojo after the world cup if he does well there. We will probably sell him to an italian club. Then Dier will get his spot and evolve as a player. I really like Dier and he gets lots of support from Sporting fans. It´s not easy to come to our Academy, do well against Portuguese, African and Brazilian talents and even become captain in our youth ranks. Everton tried to buy him after the loan spell but we rejected their bid. Hope he gives us a good couple of years and then we can sell of a reasonable profit.

And Dier? Again a flawless game against Porto and Jackson Martinez. Not many defenders can claim that. Only 20 years of age and already showing so much maturity. He should be a starter alongside Rojo clearly.

I genuinely believe, European football or not, we will still be bringing in a couple world-class players this summer. Carvahlo is the type of player we needs. He is still developing as well so who knows where his potential will be once he hits his prime.

If we do get Kroos, Carvalho or Shaw this his how I would have the team....

De Gea

Rafael --- Smalling --- Jones --- Shaw

Kroos --- Carvahlo

Januzaj --- Mata --- Kagawa

Rooney

Gundogan - Carvalho

Kagawa - Mata - Januzaj

Rooney

Holy smokes.

The concept is right especially since we'll probably keep Valencia and one between Young/Zaha/Nani who will give us width if needs be.

However I've never saw Kagawa playing on the right

To be honest Ill be very surprised if Kagawa will still be at OT next year. My gut feeling tell me that we will swap him for Gundogan or Reus

Would be wiser to move for Reus with Kagawa, as Gundogan has a year on his contract already, and they have to sell him in the summer if he wants to leave, Reus has time left and a buyout clause on his contract in 2015, so through Kagawa in the mix they might want to negotiate.

I'd be happy for United to throw a winger like Valencia into the mix for them too.

For those who have watched him is he looking quite polished already or does he still need to improve a lot?

According to Sports Witness he's a huge arse fan and admires Thierry Henry. So if Wenger decides to throw his hat in the ring.

Ronnie Whelan is a United fan but played for Pool, John O'Shea was a Pool fan & played for United, Aaron Ramsey & Gareth Bale both idolised Giggsy but chose not to come to United.. There's loads of these scenario's!

I dont think it matters to players, they just dream of playin for the biggest clubs & by the looks of at the moment - Arsenal seem to be in more of a crisis than we are now. Although, if we get a hammering tonight - that opinion will revert back to us again...

He's only 21, so he's lots to improve on of course, but he's a 1st team starter straight away. Confident, strong as an ox, good passer & loves the battle - the lad will improve immensely over the next few years, but as i said - he's ready now..

The transfer fee could prove to be a steal in many years to come. Just hope the rumours are correct that we've this deal sewn up though :nervous:

Really? They'll still be in the CL next season.

I thought Nani was his idol? Pretty sure I read that somewhere...?

I understand all that, but i feel if we are interested in him i hope we move quickly because the longer it drags on the more chances of other clubs putting a spanner in the works.

He may have alot of idols, for example Nani, Thierry Henry, Terry, Suarez,Aguero, Kroos and Gundogan, Messi, Ronaldo, Maldini, Del Piero, Zanetti, Ibrahimovic and Falcao. ;)

Really? They'll still be in the CL next season.

Not if they keep losing games they wont.

My Toffee supporting mate reckons its game on if they win their game in hand over Arsenal (not sure when thats being played). They'll be 5pts behind them if they win that & they have to play Arsenal at Goodison on 6th April aswell, so that could be down to 2pts after that. Not to mention there's a game in between that this weekend when Everton play Fulham away & Arsenal play City at home..

I never cared about Fellaini's price tag. I feel for a payer of that stature for that team(everton) in the PL, it is not surprising that we ended up paying that much. Some prices are over the top, but there always is a reason for it. So I don't see an issue with player costs being a little higher than accepted/anticipated.
Having said that, 37m pounds for William Carvalho? A 21 year old defensive midfielder who is just entering top level football. Is it not way too much? Am I missing something here?

If you go by rumours / reports man, then we've already agreed in principle for the transfer of Carvalho & one other..

Quote & article link, from the Guardian's Daniel Taylor - who's usually a very reliable & respected journo:

"United are at least addressing the issue. This newspaper's information is that deals have already been provisionally agreed for two players in what promises to be an extensive recruitment programme over the summer. The club have deliberately tried to set up transfers six months in advance. Joel Glazer has been more hands-on than many people might realise, speaking to the executive vice chairman, Ed Woodward, three times a day on average from Florida and the club have been encouraged by the feedback from agents. Not once has there has been an indication that a player might be put off because of the prospect of playing in the Europa League next season.."

I like the player but still his price tag is too high for my liking. For that price you can get better players like Lars Bender. Surely I'd love to see the Glazers spend big but I don't know if he's the right guy to splash that much money on. I haven't seen that much of him, but from what I've read most regular watchers of the Portugese league agree, that he is very good, but that price tag is way too high. Nearly double the worth of Matic? That's what we paid for Mata, probably one of the best players in the EPL for 2 years.

If we get him I'd be excited as everyone else, but Moyes is seriously playing a dangerous game if he buys Carvalho for that price. Look at how hard Fellaini got it because of his price tag. Not to mention that for this price Moyes would've spend already 100m on Fellaini, Mata and this guy.

Of course they'll be in the Champions League. The cushion between them and Spurs and Everton is too big to drop. Everton are all right but they won't surpass Arsenal, they'll finish 5th or 6th.

I think the main problem / drama with Fellaini's price, was that his clause was £24.5m (i think) & Moyes thought he had a better chance to get Baines aswell in a better deal for both, but the clock ran down & Baines wouldnt ask for a transfer. The Toffees' were lookin £20m for Baines ffs..

As it stands - Arsenal are on 62pts & Everton are on 54pts. Everton have a game in hand though.

Arsenal play Swansea tonight, while Everton play Newcastle. Then Arsenal play City at the weekend, while Everton play Fulham. Next up after that is Everton vs Arsenal at Goodison.

Anything can happen as we all know & if Arsenal heads have gone - they're in trouble for 4th.. because Spuds & The Toffees will be lickin their lips big time!
