Will Bruno achieve legend status at utd?

The fact we are in there Europa is a sign of falling standards. Nobody part of that is legend status
No, it's a sign of the club in a bad position. It doesn't mean that fans' standards have slipped. Everyone wants us to be back challenging for the big pots but that's quite frankly not possible at the moment. So this is what we've got.

So you don't think Kane is a spurs legend, le tissier is a saints legend etc?

I was 2 years old then. Never seen him play, only what I have read, bought us back from relegation.
So you're saying that the whole 1974 side wasn't shite then. Stepney?

It's not as simple as 'didn't win a trophy I approve of = not a club legend' ffs

Ok, but he bought a shite team back from relegation. Was has Bruno done. Anyway bedsides all that I just don't think Bruno is good enough to be a legend of any kind. Just like Nani or Quinton Fortune.
If Bruno was that good with us beeing 15th, big money clubs would be paying huge money to sign him. They aren't.
He just isn't that good.

Yeah I think we're never going to agree here. Also, your points of comparison are all over the place. What in your mind do nani and Quinton Fortune have in common?

Also, your argument that if Bruno was that good, other clubs would buy him sort of loses traction if you accept that Bruno may not want to leave and the club may not want to get rid of him.

I hate fans who hate Bruno.

One of the best players ever for United.

It's weird that legends are made for some by trophies they have won.

Trophies are won by teams, not individuals.

Also, if legends are only won by trophies then all clubs on the bottom half of the tables in any league would technically have no legends because they never win trophies.

Doesn't count lads because it's a set piece. Can't be a legend because he hasn't won the global universe cup.

That slightly frustrating side we saw with Giggs and Cantona.

People don't appreciate that geniuses have to take risks in possession and lose the ball or have games where nothing comes off.

I love this man. His output has been legendary considering the period he is playing in for us. Incredible player who deserves more than the odd cup.

Not a chance. Not even a dream. United have has so many legendary players, great players, good players. Bruno may fit in last category here if debatable. But not legend.

Non of these and more are legends at United. Bruno isn’t even close to being best player on this list.

Man spent the last half hour collating a weird list and still decided to post it after Bruno scored a screamer. Bless.

He's the only current United player I feel sorry for because he deserves better than the players he has to work with. He'd have looked right at home in any of Fergies teams

A few of those players on your list are on the Man Utd website listed as legends.

True reminds me a bit of ruud tbh although he got a title but suffered in a declining team, for all his infuriating missed passes etc Bruno in a fully functioning strong team would be a great asset his stats back that up and some.

I don’t think you MUST win [multiple] PL/CL to become United legend. It’s unfair to players who give everything to the club and play at outstanding level even in struggling teams. David De Gea and Bruno will be considered club legends with time.

Are you saying 2x Champions league winner Wes Brown isn't a legend?

We are not Spurs nor Southampton

But he has won trophies, no? For some reason some folks seem to be implying that only the PL and CL 'count' as trophies.
It's implied because it's true. If he'd won us a league or a champions league he'd a legend of course. But an occasional domestic cup when we should be one of the world's top sides isn't very memorable.

Bruno is a legend for one simple reason: not many players of his stature would have stuck around when they arguably gone have gone anywhere else during the persistent slide until oblivion - but he didn't. And he didn't even really ever whine either. Yes I do take issue with his on the pitch behavior at times but honestly he s one of the - if not only- player the last few years who deserved 90% of his starts. Legend status shouldn't just be measured by trophies won - but also by dedication to the club and giving us performances to go with it.

Depends what happens in the coming three years. If we win a couple of major trophies then Bruno's overall contribution will be viewed quite differently and most fans will view his loyalty of sticking around during a dark period as a massive plus when considering the question - especially when factoring in his longevity, captaincy, and double digit goals for six consecutive years and counting.

Le Tissier.

I think the best comparison stature wise that could be made for Fernandes if he continues as he is which is effectively the one bright spot in a piss poor team would be him being seen as on the same level as De Gea is seen, a player that often saved us but their peak was during our poor years rather than a successful period of the past under Sir Alex.

The word legend is very overused and for me I’d class Duncan Edwards, Roger Byrne, Bill Foulkes, Tommy Taylor, George Best, Bobby Charlton, Denis Law, Bryan Robson, Peter Schmeichel, Eric Cantona, Ryan Giggs, Roy Keane, Paul Scholes, Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney as the only players that should be deemed as United legends.
