Wilfried Zaha

I think Wenger is trying to be a bit sneaky. Arsenal were clearly interested, he said they were looking at him himself. But perhaps it was to replace Walcott if he left. With Walcott signing a new contract they probably feel like they got the best result from the situation and no need for Zaha

Has it occurred to you that Palace may have said "We will not sell him now if we don't get him until the end of the season"

Which would make a lot of sense - because Zaha for the rest of the season could earn Palace £40-50 million. If they sell him - they probably wont be promoted

If that's the case then fair enough but if we had the choice then we should bring him in

Basically what several of the transfer stories have been saying.

Agreed, I did feel we would only pursue his signing if Walcott left or made it clear he wasn't going to sign. He looks a great talent but I think there are other positions we need to improve first

I always found it odd Arsenal would be in for him though when they already have two young wingers in Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain. Maybe the reported interest was just to give Walcott a kick up the arse.

Didn't you hear? Feo's a world class striker now.

That may be true, but Zaha looks like a typical Wenger signing.

That surely means we'll be saying bye bye Bebe, and mostly likely Macheda too. They have improved gradually but Zaha is a superior talent who's more likely to fulfil his potential. Someone else already said we have space for a young winger/striker in the squad and I agree. Things wouldn't be in motion if Fergie thought otherwise.

Finish the deal then loan him back to Palace.

Sshhh don't take sense. The quality of the player is directly proportional to the no. of teams interested in him. It's the first and only rule of transfers. Our scouts are gimps.

That wasn't what I was saying KM and you know it. I was skeptical of the reports that all the big teams were interested, a la Phil Jones, they seemed to me to be fed by interested selling parties, it goes on in football all the time, it isn't a secret. Low and behold, we pay a high fee whilst no other interested party materialises.

I'm slightly disappointed that we don't get him until the end of season but it seems like we had no choice in that matter. He's too important for Palace to lose him now when they're putting in a promotion challenge and we don't really have anyone that we could send there to make up for that loss.

So if we get zaha does this mean we won't be going for isco?

I would prefer Isco to Zaha.

Completely different type of player, but Nick Powell could do a job there on loan.

The Palace fans on their message board want £12m with both Zaha and Powell on loan for the rest of the season.

They must mean £2 million with Zaha and Powell on loan to ensure promotion

Ooh ah Fred zaha I said ooh ah Fred zaha!

What chants did we have for Louis Saha again? The ones for Zaha are going to be exactly he same, let's face it.

I thought about him at first, he's had the experience of a promotion challenge with Crewe and he looked solid each time he's played for us this season. Then again if we haven't sent him on loan yet I don't think we're going to do it now - I think we want to give him a full season of a high level professional training at United.

Who wouldnt? But who's to say we'd be able to get Isco?

Unless Real Madrid are in for him (because Barcelona clearly won't be), he'll be up for sale for anyone who puts in a bid, I reckon. Atletico is probably the only Spanish side other than the big two that would have a realistic chance of getting him, and England would probably be his prefered destination if he were to go abroad seeing as Mata, Silva and Cazorla have all been fantastic here.

This is getting ridiculous now.
