Wilfried Zaha - Sold to Crystal Palace

How on earth does an Arsenal fan find it frustrating?

I couldn't give a shit about Palace. If Zaha spends the next couple of months settling down in his new home and training with the first team, then uses this experience to contribute in PL fixtures in the new year then that's a decent debut season for a 20 year old.

Nah man, I want all London teams to go down. Bunch of cnuts, all of them. More power to the North!

So is Zaha the new lord of the ring or not? :D

Edit: Would explain why we can't see him any more. ;)

I honestly heard he's been struggling in training with the intensity and isn't training well. I was told this last week Wednesday and it would make sense.

Would do him good. From what I've seen he's quite far away from beeing ready to play for us.

What? That there is a rumour of a loan!? Or a clearly light-hearted/ not-serious quip made to reference the fact that he hasn't played a single minute of competitive football?

A light hearted quip that a 20 year old who we bought this year must be dog shit in training because he hasn't played yet ? That's quite a staggeringly ignorant statement given that you have zero knowledge of what goes on in training.

... erm, exactly? That's sort of the joke...

By whom? Same guy who said he was knockin' boots with Dave's daughter?

Considering he's made the bench for a number of games - I doubt either of these things are true. He wouldn't get as far as our bench if that were the case... more simply he's down on the pecking order just because he's new and we've established players in front of him (though I still think he could have got a few minutes here and there at some point this season).

I think it would be remiss of us to not give him a chance to impress... from now until January is a long-time, and I think the lad has shown enough for Palace/in pre-season to deserve a chance to show what he can do. I'd say a lot of people rate him higher then that Berinho kid for WBA and look what he's been doing of late.

in that case....

I never said it was a particularly funny joke - but come on man. Like you said, how am I, or anyone for that matter (apart from Gerald's mate of course - he's clearly ITK) to know what the feck goes on in training. They could all just stand around and take it in turns to try an injure Rooney for all we know... (and to be fair, from the evidence so far, that could actually be accurate) thus it wasn't a statement meant to be taken seriously, but with the shit guess-work claimed as fact that goes on around here, I can probably see why it might be taken that way.

Fair enough. It was just a reaction to something misunderstood. I'm a big Zaha fan and feel he needs to be brought along slowly. He showed flashes of brilliance in the pre-season and I'm sure we will see more of him when Moyes feels its right - hopefully at the expense of Young and not Nani.

Raoul and Annihilate :D.

Annihilate, you need to pack that humour thing right in, obviously Raoul is a little tetchy this morning.

He seems quite keen to bleed-in Januzaj though (which is understandable)... and you'd imagine it's quite tricky to try integrate two youngsters - who play in largely the same position - simultaenously, especially when you're in the position that Moyes is currently in.

I think if Januzaj's contract wasn't up in the air, we'd have seen Zaha grab some of those appearances that Adnan's been getting... but as such, I think we'll continue to see a lot more of him over Zaha - until his contract is sorted out at least.

I do think he'll get his chance at some point fairly soon - just hope he takes it. Like you, I'm a big fan of the lad, so would definitely like to see him have his chance here before being sent out on loan anywhere.

Oh, and no worries!

You mean in every match that he impressed on tour?

You can't really take pre-season games too seriously. In the opening two games he did play, he was very unimpressive and looked out of his depth. He is a long way away from being ready for a first team place here.

I thought he was quite impressive on tour personally. And.of course, it's nowhere near the level of premier league but it still gives you an idea and really is the only thing room base your united opinion of him.

He was crap in the community shield. A game that had more value than some BS preseason friendlies.

I'll give you that, was going to mention it myself but couldn't remember how long he played for in it. But overall I'd say I've been more impressed with him than not.

I like that he does his tricks, as long as he doesn't do tricks for the sake of doing tricks. So I hope he'll learn to use his brain and when to use them or not.

Surely the Community Shield was a far better way to base opinion?

Who did he call an effing tw*t around 5.06 in the YouTube vid (Adnan?)

i am 100% certain he didnt say twat. it doesnt even remotely look like he says twat. if i had to guess it looks like he shouts someones name and says "the fecking space" which makes alot more sense after hes just put in a cross that nobody arrived on the end of.

let the posts that followed about what manchester united players shouldnt do on camera and so on be a fine example of the worst aspect of the internet. not having a go, but one person completely misreads a video and it elicits a discussion. probably happens each player about 5 times a game, times 22 players equals over 100 times a game youl see something similar to that. crazy it was brought to any attention

Moyes ended up so startled by the news that he remained in that situation till now

There was somebody last week, perhaps in this thread, that said he knows a guy that knows a guy etc etc. They'd told him that Zaha had been playing off adrenaline alone during preseason and he's now a bit overawed by the situation since it's started sinking in. He did also say that he had shown some nice things in training though.

Whether or not this guy does really know a guy, I reckon that this may be something along the right lines anyway. Zaha seems incredibly shy and I think this will explain why he's been on the bench a few times without coming on. Getting used to the surroundings/atmosphere etc.
