indeed. Its part of the course with them.

Annoys me when they get slated though. Its so much tougher learning your trade under the focus playing at the top level brings...

At least Zaha seems to have a strong mentality, if something doesn't come off then the next one will.

It's similar for every young player at every club, in fairness. You lose the ball, or make an error and a section of the crowd immediately thinks 'you're shit' and it's easy to snowball if the player gets his confidence knocked.

I'm wondering what is the right thing to do with Zaha right now. On one hand a loan move would give him regualr first team football, which is something he's not going to get here. We have 6 players who would probably start before he does on the wing and because we drew Liverpool in the League Cup, I can't see him playing in that fixture and that could be the only match we have in a competition that was earmarked for players like him.

On the other hand, I think we need to be the ones developing him to make sure he turns into the player he should be and the one we want him to be. He's a talent, but we need to change him the way we did with Rooney and Ronaldo. It's the difference between being a top class player that's great for the team and being a Ben Arfa or Taarabt, who are exciting and capable of moments of magic, but are inconsistent and not really trusted.

he'll stay with us this season and will play a few games here and there. Next season with the likes of Giggs gone (maybe Young if he doesn't perform) I am sure he will feature more. He's still you so he needs to be patient.

maybe moyes wasn't prepared to take the risk of starting with an inexperienced winger because of the tough fixtures that we've got, so he went for experience more than anything else.

palace at old trafford should be his first appearance. i would like to see zaha and nani on the wings now. both are versatile enough to swap positions as a match goes on.

Reckon he's being punished a little for his showboating v Wigan, taking him out the limelight will make him work alot harder and push him to become more mature in his decision-making. Pretty sure Moyes knows what he's doing with regards to Zaha, its Janzuaj am worried about... the contract thing is an issue.

Is he injured? Or have I just overestimated him and he's nowhere near ready? You'd think he would be more involved with our first team considering how terrible our wingers have been. Palace at home would have been a nice time to give him a run out.

I think a new manager at a club like United would always be hesitant to use young kids much. We're lucky the one has gotten playing time and that's probably because we're encouraging him to stay.

Someone has recently told me that he played through preseason on adrenaline alone, and since then has been a little overwhelmed and his head has gone.
Apparently he's pulling some Ronaldo-esque stuff off in training though.

I would hope that the first bit's not true though - his head's gone already?!

Who?

Reminds me a bit of Obertan. Brilliant in pre-season with no pressure but as soon as shit started to get real his self-belief started to fade and performances deteriorated. He definitely got markedly worse as the season opener got closer.

I'm fairly confident that - unlike Obertan - he has the stones to turn things round. His performances in Palace in the play-offs would indicate he's capable of handling pressure. Just needs a bit more time to feel at home with his new club.

ITK. Youve got to love it.

I do love it. Just reporting what I heard. It's apparently someone who works for the club in a coaching capacity though.

Make your own mind up whether you want to believe these things - I like to take them with a large pinch of salt, but at the same time it's not exactly unfeasible, is it?

As much as everyone hates an 'ITK', there are actually a few out there. There may even be one or two people on here who are United employees or insiders. You never know.

I've always wondered if there are players who check out these forums or if some even are members? It could do them some serious harm, but at the same time they could have some fun.

There probably are, but it doesn't mean they know much more than what their own job entails. If it did they would be making a fortune at the bookies.

Then we should send him on loan. Doing nothing not even having him in the matchday squad.

I seriously hope the players don't get wind of what is being said by supporters on forums like this.

You'd hope not. There are huge landfill sized heaps of Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime being spouted everywhere on the Caf. Would like to see him against Liverpool.

If they did, they'd keep that quiet, as placing bets related to the club you work for is grounds for dismissal. If you get into United, you want to stay there.

Players are only human, some of them must check out fan forums to see what people are saying about them, I would. It's like those entertainers who say they never read reviews, that seems like nonsense to me. On the other hand Ashley Young did join twitter so maybe they are oblivious.

You'd think the odds of someone on here being an employee are fairly good. United employ hundreds of people, after all. But the great majority of these employees aren't ITK about anything particularly juicy anyway. The number of people who would be privy to something really newsworthy is bound to be low, you'd think, limited to those who actually work closely with the players.

Perhaps some of the managerial team too..

Perhaps not though.

Does Doron Salomon from twitter in some way work for United? I feel like he does as he's followed by other people who work for United. Anyway, he follows the caf on twitter so he probably posts here.

Zaha was never gonna feature in the early parts of the season, not with the fixture list we had. Swansea away, Chelsea, City, Liverpool....Zaha just isn't gonna feature in those matches (unless he performs miracles and then gets picked for those matches later in the season). For now, he'll be on the bench or feature in the matches against the likes of Palace (as he did), Hull and Norwich, plus Carling cup games or any dead rubbers in the CL. I don't really see what the fuss is about tbh.

I agree. However, the fuss is about the signs he showed in pre-season are far better than what the likes of Young are producing.

It was all obvious since August that he wasn't gonna feature much in the early parts of the season but some people strangely argued the opposite.

Zaha didn't come on against palace, did he?

Thing about Zaha that differentiates him from typical youth signings are:

1. He was tearing it up last season in the Championship - hardly a massive drop in quality.
2. He cost £15m

Neither of those things are his fault, but it's not too much to expect him to at least make the bench in matches like this evening. Especially as he plays a position where we're really struggling for form, and from what everyone has seen (even in playoff finals) he has a certain x-factor that we really lack at the moment.
