Good to hear he has done well in his first cameo over there. Hopefully he pushes on and proves he can be effective in the premier league. He was never going to get a lot of game time for us this season, but I'm hoping he can get things back on track on loan and comes back a quality player next season.

Terrible attitude from him. Really arrogant in his post match interview aswell.

/sarcasm

Eeehem he is, Valencia is the most useless player United has ever had (the way he's playing the last two years). Not to talk about Ashley Dive.
Hehe he isn't. Terrible claim too that Valencia is the most useless United player. Whatever little good has come of Ashley's dive, is yet to come of the "talented" Zaha. Despite them being horrible wingers themselves, as things stand right now, Zaha is way worse and I'd take them over him any day of the week. While I'd be glad to see Zaha to come good in future, I'm just happy we kept those two and not him.

Think youre crazy, they havent done anything good in years.

Very happy for him. Hopefully this loan will be a turningpoint for him and get him back on track.

Phil Neville on motd saying he just didn't have a big club mentality. For mentality read bad attitude.

I can buy that he had a poor attitude in training. What I cant buy is that Valencia is putting good crosses in during training. And if he isnt, then we obviously need to try other players including those who aren't doing well on the training pitch. Because they cant do any worse on a match day and there have been plenty of players who play well during matches but didnt do well on the training pitch. I remember someone saying Tevez was like that too

More to football than crosses. A lot of which has been evidently missing from Zaha's locker during competitive games (for United and Cardiff) as well as, presumably, in training.

I really hope he has a great season at Palace and comes back to United a much improved player. Being back in his comfort zone in South London was always going to give him the best chance of finding his mojo again. So far so good but barmy the way a 20 minute cameo has provoked the sort of comments I'm reading in this thread. I mean, if we're going to use yesterday afternoon as a baromer for former players who could do a better job than our current lot then the really bad decision was not holding onto Mame Diouf. Or even David Jones!

I hope people understand that the prime reason why we kept Young and Valencia ahead of Zaha and Nani is their ability to do put in a decent shift at the wing-back positions. As of now we don't have any specialist cover for Shaw and Rafael which is shocking in itself and these guys are our back-up option. LVG clearly recognises their lack of quality as wingers (and has stated it himself) but recognises that they can do a job(better than Nani or Zaha anyway) at wing-backs. Still confused as to why we haven't bought specialist cover for the full-back positions. Hopefully, Rojo and Blind can slot in as wing-backs when needed but they are more needed at centre-back and central midfield.

They did that last season as well, after we had a poor game and Zaha had a good debut for Cardiff, before he ultimately faded into mediocrity.

Damn, that what a threat in that match. I can just imagine Januzaj and Zaha both in form for SAF if he had stayed. I still like how he looks, absolutely brilliant when he has his pace up and equally poor when he is standing still and has to try the same tricks.

Seriously, either I don't want to see something or some want to see something that's not in that video. Great goal, he was going forward but nearly every move he makes there is either defender or he's losing the ball.

Not sure what others are seeing either. He took his chance well to get the goal, but was mostly bad.

Tbh I was more impressed with Puncheon there and it is a video of Zaha. He did good to get behind the defense and get some shots off but picking the ball up from deep he looks actually quite poor and imo he is pretty shit at taking on defenders. Work on his finishing and he looks like he could be a good wide forward from that cameo. Again though make a video of Puncheon or a bunch of other wingers in the league and they'll look just as good if not better.

In all honesty, I just can't stand his style of play. He looks completely uncoordinated and has no grace. His end product doesn't really justify the amount of mistakes he makes in build up and its not as if he's an extremely hard worker.

Another in that long list of value signings that Ferguson hoped would come off, he's average and it was a waste paying 15m at the time, that was my thought back then, and nothing he has done to change that. I mean, if you can't get into the side with the dross Young and Valencia serve up weekly, then there's something seriously wrong. It's absurd thinking the amount of money Ferguson wasted at times in the name of "value". The cost of Zaha, Bebe, Diouf, Tosic and Obertan could get you a player that plays at a level closer to the top. Absurd.

Hindsight is an exact science. When CR rocked up at OT, did you crystal ball that he'd be the best player in the world or you were in the 'one trick pony brigade'? The truth is unless to have a time machine, no one can. There's a bit of judgement and a thick slice of luck. Any chance you could tell me the winning numbers of this Saturday lottery draw please?

If he told you the numbers he'd have to share the prize with you. :nono:
