Why isn't FC United in the Football Forum?

RedCanuck said:
You can la la la all you want Spoony but what if some kid supports both FC United and Manchester City, should City also be discussed in the Manchester United forum?
POOOOOOOOOOOOps (sp) will be along later to give you a common sense answer to that later

It wasn't a hostile question. It looks as though it might get off the ground so I was simply wondering if threads about FC United will be the Manchester United Forum.

yeah it's a touchy subject though, you have to understand that anyone looking to get threads on FC United moved to a 'less public' place will be taken with suspicion, because lets face it any kind of publicity, even on a chat board will help FC United. So putting it in the 'football forum' where many united fans dont even bother going would be seen an endorsement of Glazer and a rejection of FC United.

Once FC United start playing games and stuff there will probably naturally be new bulletin boards relating to them anyway...

what in the 17 snotty orphans are you on about :wenger:

As far as I can see almost everything about FC united has been mainly contained in the one thread where you have asked the same question in there
So you now start up a new thread about FC United in the United forum yourself
So in the United forum you only want stuff about United and nothing about FC United in the United forum So the United forum should be just for United and only United and not FC United in the United forum so if we have an FC United forum will we be able to just talk about FC United or will we also be able to talk about United in an FC United forum So does it matter if in the end if we talk about FC United in the United Forum as some United fans are FC United fans and some FCUnited fans and some United fans are just United fans and some fans just FC United fans and some FC united fans and some United fans both United in their fight for United because as some say there is only one United so if there only one United then both Uniteds should end up in the United forum
And every one should be United in that idea about United and FC United both being United on a United board in a United forum about both United and FC United and if your lids United you can just feck off cause we are all United against that United
Im off now cause all my eyes can see is United

what?
try to use some punctuation

fair point there Zippy and even RedCanuck aggrees on that you must be good

Without it getting any more contentious...I have a question.

I'm behind supporting SU and applaud those that will follow FCUM exclusively. That's a hell of a statement to make about the club you used to love. I will follow both clubs, as much as being in the States with a TV and a PC allow and try to keep up my end of the boycott of United sponsors.

Now...that being said: What are the long-term aims of the FCUM bods? This club is formed from the ashes of what once used to be MUFC for some people...so they will go and set it up and follow them. When the Glazer era comes to an end and/or the FCUM folks have been appeased in some way to make them want to come back to United - what happens to FCUM? Last I heard...the intent was to integrate it into United and merge the two, whenever the time should come. Is this still the case? Or is FCUM intended to be a singular, long-term venture, no matter what happens with United? Because I think that probably best answers Canuck's question.

I'm asking because I don't know the answer. Any info would be appreciated.

See what happens if you make sense ;)

FCUM is a very unfortunate contraction though.

The idea is that both clubs should merge somehow,
That is not to say that half of FC Uniteds team will end up playing at OT
They are looking that maybe FC united could become some sort of reserve side or feeder club for United

OK. Thanks, mick.

Seems that FC United threads should be in the United Forum. Like 26 mentioned, "unofficial club of MUFC." I can see where Canuck was going with the question, but I think that pretty much answers it. It's an independent club for disallusioned United supporters. Which still makes it about United.

United fans from Manchester will back FC United.

It's the way it is.

How ever much that pisses anyone off.

You've got to admire the stand.
Yes, i admire the stand. I just don't understand the connection to MUFC. If i decided to form a "breakaway" club in Stoke, and called them the 'FC Stokiereds United of about 30 miles from Manchester', would everyone applaud with admiration my stand, or would they laugh? I'm not mocking the new club, just waiting for someone to explain why, and what it will achieve.
And i'm still waiting for an answer to a previous question, considering the new club is in protest to the Americans takeover, is the name of the new club a joke or an oversight?

That about sums it up we all want the best or what we all think is the best for United.
But the only problem is that every one thinks that their way is the right way or the only way.
FC United is also way of keeping alot of Still United fans together, who refuse to fund Glazer in any way, but who still want to watch live football.
Has also been said many times, that United fans are more the welcome to come along and watch if they want to.
After speaking to a lot of people, FC United is also going to give a lot of United fans who can not now watch United live at OT due to different reasons, lack of tickets, priced out of the game etc a way back into watching live football.
I know my kids and young cousins are all now really excited at the prospect of being able to watch live football on a regular basis
I will also be happy to take them as well at a price that I can afford

The fear of Manchester United without ANY fans from Manchester is what scares people, the fear that without Mancunians there is no 'Manchester' united.

Yank Manc.

That's got a good ring to it.

hmm, , ,, I have decided to give you Mancunian status.

You can call yourself a honourary Mancunian.

Well, if SAF can get an honorary degree. . .

But Zippy. This doesn't mean most FC United lads won't go to Old Trafford.

I see it this way. Lets make some cash out of this. And add to the Phoenix fund aswell.

Glazer goes bust. We buy a stake so no one can feck with us again.

Makes sense.

That's a completely quixotic ideal. It's far more likely that Glazer will pay off the debt and run off with a profit having re-floated the company.

I'll notify the authorities and sort out my work visa. Is the industry for late-20s wasters as strong over there as it is here? That's important to know before I make my next move.

We're booming mate. Manchester contributes the most to the economy outside of London. £47 billion infact. So, there's room for a late 20s waster no doubt. . .

I don't know how much that'll help though!

Why such an idiotic idea then

They're a different football club. They have as much to do with Manchester United as Liverpool do to Everton. This should be in the Football forum.

Thanks for that, Spoony. It's all I needed to know.

Since you don't have a Disneyland, I figure I can bring some of America's magic with me. You have all the bad with Glazer and his greed (and Claudio Reyna
icon13.gif
)...I figure you all could do with more of the good: Timmy Howard, J. Spector, Hollywood, trucks, and Mexican fast-food open 24 hours a day. My niche is in there, somewhere. Hand over fist, that money will come rollin' in. I'll have to learn the currency and the Northern terms and such...things like that, but I figure my fellow Mancs will have no problem showing me the ropes.

Short of that...I can always open up a pub, eh? :D

FCUM and Manchester United will never be one. Not if Glazer stays, not if Glazer goes. They're two different clubs and so it shall remain.
Well whats the reason apart from because you say so

There's nothing to show that the two will merge. The only event that something like this would ever happen, would be if supporters tookover Manchester United and any chances of that happening has been scuppered by people who sold their shares and invested in the Phoenix fund.

Hey, we've got 30 skyscrapers planned according to the MEN. Three are already in progress. That's a bit American!

Mexican food. We have a couple in Town, but yours would be more authentic and could work.

You'll catch the lingo, but from what I've seen, you know enough! You'll pick the rest up in no time.

Once you've developed the Mancunian strut, ie confident 10 man walk, with shoulders swaying and arms moving freely. You'll be there, and a fullyfledged Mancunian.

;)
