Who, with me, believes we can win the premier league?

Teams before have proved that they can't win games with pressure is on to do something big like winning a trophy . There were at least two good spells with Ole (after terrible performances prior) and as closer we got to catching up the worst we performed.

We are 11 points behind Arsenal so that is catchable, but I'm concerned that we will start to sink the closer we get.
 
We don’t score enough goals.

Arsenal have 40 goals, City 44. We are on 24.

We are moving in the right direction.

No chance.

I will just be happy with a top 4 finish. Without a striker/attacker coming in even that's going to be tough.
 
Remember before the World Cup break, ETH almost run the team to the ground. Almost same 11 week in week out for all competition. We don't have the squad depth and a proper striker to challenge for title.

Agreed too. Need a striker and more. The team is building though, undoubtedly. With ETH in charge, I am hopeful that within a couple of seasons that could happen. I feel it’s unrealistic this year, though.

Yeah need someone cheep and cheerful this month,then in the summer our priorities have to be in order

Frivolousness aside we lack the firings power to so and our back bench is worryingly lightweight so I'd imagine our best case scenario being a third place finish as I can't see us finishing above either city or arsenal and besides the mentality isn't there yet.
 
I am happy with the obvious progress ETH is making. I don’t delude myself about contending for the title just yet though.
We clearly need a striker to have any chance. Probably need a center back , midfielder and right wing too. At least!
Top 4 plus a trophy would be great.
Top 4 would be pretty good too.
 
As long as we stop conceding goals, we will always have a chance. But we need 2 players to make a sustainable title challenge, De Jong to rotate with Eriksen and a Cfwd. Definitely need a few more goals in the team.
 
We are still far off from winning the title. The bar is set very high nowadays. We need to be near 95 to 100 points to win it. So far only Liverpool and Man City are able to do it in the history of the league. This season Arsenal looks to be on track of achieving that with world class football.

We are nowhere near that and in need of at least world class player in the following position striker, midfielder, GK and CB/RB.

We need top class striker in the summer and a CM who is proven at progressing the ball
 
I somehow believe that Rashford, Martial and Sancho/Antony will get used to playing together and we will be scoring for fun.

We are getting there to be honest, hopefully Martial can get back to his best.

We still need a Thuram/Morata to come in and contribute a few goals as well.
 
not a chance at the moment but we aren’t that far off. I have a feeling we are a catalyst signing from clicking into place. Who knows how far we can get if we manage to get in an inspired signing in January.
 
I’d love to say yes but unfortunately we only have 3 more goals than Haaland. Be great if we could get a striker and get closer.
 
Defensively, we look very solid, and I think great teams are built on a solid defense. Our midfield looks better than in ages. Casemiro has really been a brilliant signing. What a player he is. In addition, with Eriksen and Bruno, we have a very solid and creative midfield. Fred has proven that he can be a decent squad option. McTominay is not good enough. Our attack looks great on paper with exciting and top class talents in Sancho, Antony and Rashford. However, only Rashford is performing at the required level. Garnacho is young and promising, but he is not someone we should have to rely on. We need both our left side and our right side to be threats. Then we have the striker issue. Martial seems well off the pace judging from the last couple of matches. He needs to get involved more, and he is back to not sprinting much for the ball. We badly need another striker. We barely have a positive goal difference.

Our defense is good enough to win the league

Our midfield is probably good enough to win the league, barring injuries

Our attack is not good enough, as they are performing. The talent is there.

I don’t disagree with you but the same could be said about Arsenal.
 
Even though we are scoring fewer goals I'm actually enjoying our games and not falling asleep or turning it off. That's good enough for me, at least for this and next season.
 
No but this season is a huge opportunity for top 4. Spurs, Chelsea and Liverpool are all over the shop this season. I think Arsenal and City will carry on as they are and fight it out until the end of the season but Newcastle can be caught.

If we sign a top striker in the summer and strengthen slightly in other areas we can challenge next season. We will never have the depth Man City have unless our new owners are of the same mould. That’s the hardest part of challenging them. They basically have 2 top players in every single position which no one else has.

That being said our manager and players MUST aim for that goal every season (despite not being reachable currnetly) and we will surley finish in the TOP 4.

We got Antony and Sancho will be back start of February, that's ample cover for the RW. Even Eriksen can do a job there for some games. Get Felix and that's another option there.
 
I think we have more work to do. A few players have to perform more consistently and we need to be better in possession.

The last few games we have not improved, we are on a plateau. I’m hoping we will make more steps soon, and not go backwards.

It’s crunchtime for Ten Hag and certain players.

Bit of a strange take. Last few games we have won every one with a clean sheet in each. I think we are improving week in week out now which is nice to see. Just need to put more chances away and we’ll be on the right path.

Yes we keep winning, but the performances are not comfortable. To challenge for the title you have to dominate most games. We aren’t there yet.
 
Like others have said we are too light upfront, only Rashford scoring. Martial, Antony look completely devoid of any form and Elanga just isn’t good enough. Sancho is still AWOL and there’s no telling what his form will be like when he returns.
 
We made a really poor start to the season but credit to ten Hag for identifying the problem and making some changes.

Do I think we can win the title? It's certainly possible but we're just not ruthless at the moment.

We nearly lost points against Wolves the other day because we struggle to kill games. On the other hand, we seem to have found a balance, and our team is defending a lot better as a unit.

Going forward, if we can improve our decision making in the final third and finish the chances we get, then we should certainly be in and around the title chase. More so next season than this one, though.

Antony is a left footer who plays on the right. Not going to work imo . Sancho hopefully will return and find form but up to now his form has been poor. Not good enough.
 
I wouldn’t put any money on it. The competition is too good. You have to be almost perfect to win it these days and we are still missing too many key elements. It’s great to see the team battling for each other again and a specific style of football coming through. I think we would have all taken this after the first two games.

We're not where we want to be obviously, but I strongly disagree that we are plateauing, we're controlling games a lot more than we used to be. Wolves & Forest barely created anything against us, we'd have been clinging on not too long ago.
 
If we had a top striker this season we’d have been in with a shout. We didn’t for various reasons.
