Don't call me Shirley
I do think our next manager needs to be confident, slightly arrogant and charismatic.
It needs to be someone that knows how to set up a team. Can play exciting football but stay compact also and not let in so many chances.I do think our next manager needs to be confident, slightly arrogant and charismatic.
We have? I don't anything announced publicly
Our structure isn't great (yet).Isn't Nagelsmann a specialist at man management?
Also how do you know re. Potter it's not a case of him being a victim of terrible structure at Chelsea rather than only being good because of a great structure at Brighton?
Has and very solid CV, is a huge fan of using the latest scientific methods, but unfortunatelly is a very result oriented manager. Also rotates a lot to manage with players jaddeness. What kind of partnership can't find any info on it and what kind of Manager is Abel Ferreira Is he any good.
Without a doubt but outside of that, interms of personality, we do need abit of a character .It needs to be someone that knows how to set up a team. Can play exciting football but stay compact also and not let in so many chances.
Absolutely.Without a doubt but outside of that, interms of personality, we do need abit of a character .
A young LVG in a competent set up would've been perfect.
Out structure will likely be very strong if our when a new manager is appointed. Our structure isn't great (yet).
Potter doesn't have much about him.
Would folks give EtH till end of the season or do we bring in someone now, esp. If it's Nagelsman or Flick?
I do think our next manager needs to be confident, slightly arrogant and charismatic.
They played good football under Potter too. It's more of a testament of how well run the club is.
I will ask this, is ETH the problem? Think about what he has, limits for transfers etc. He inherited a bit of a mess for a high level team. They need to rid themselves of lazy whiners, this means Rashford and Fernandes, who are the supposed stars of this team but are not leaders. There must be a competition between them on who will be the first to get airborne flapping their arms all the time, this is Manchester United, not Chelsea or West Ham, they need to act accordingly! I have had conversations with other supporters offline and they shriek when I say this. The question then is, would you rather have Roy Keane in his prime or Bruno, would you rather have Scholes or Bruno, puts things back into perspective. This team needs a new culture. I do not like the setups and game philosophy, too much sitting back, too much long ball, but hey, you have to protect the back end I don't see too many running box to box. I did see Garnacho do one yesterday, but other than that none. Injuries, what is with all the injuries? That in itself has to be rectified. We just went through 10 yrs of total mismanagement with Woodward, now Ratcliff is bringing in the top management talent. It won't happen over night as this is only the beginning. My hope is he rights the ship before I go into cardiac arrest watching garbage like what I saw against Fulham!Certainly needs to have a personality which is a real problem with Erik
You have got to command the respect of the players to succeed at this club and it's impossible to do it when you have the charisma of a sponge.
We need someone who can walk in like they belong here and immediately make an impact with the players, the fans and the media
I do think our next manager needs to be confident, slightly arrogant and charismatic.
I want a manager who builds an attacking and aggresive system in place. No more of this transition BS or counter attacking like Ole. We need a manager who can coach these players and have the cojones to bench Rashford and Bruno when not performing.
You read my mind on the Bowery Boys! Remember Bebe, played 2 games, made a Fernandes type cross into the stands and was never to be seen again! Unacceptable in the SAF era is now a mainstay.Oh I agree on both points, however there's no doubt in my mind that De Zerbi is a level above Potter both in terms of his ceiling and his actual style of play. They're really fun to watch. The one thing I will say is our players aren't good enough to play his system, which is heavily based on beating the press. Bruno and Rashford won't survive under him but I'd hope any regime moves on from the both of them anyway.
Surprised to see u here. Start to lose belief?Out structure will likely be very strong if our when a new manager is appointed.
What do you base the Potter view on?
No, I'm just replying to a post that dismissed Nagelsmann and Potter.Surprised to see u here. Start to lose belief?
End of next season. Give him timeWould folks give EtH till end of the season or do we bring in someone now, esp. If it's Nagelsman or Flick?
To be a good manager, you put the team first, above any player and you expect the same of every player. You set the expectation and it is the responsibility of every player to meet that expectation. Those that do not meet the expectation do not stay. As I have said prior, when you have upper management undermining this expectation it creates chaos hence Jose and Woodword with Pogba. Players lose respect for the manager, forget it, the team follows suit unless you cut out the cancer. The manager has to be like a father to the players, there when they need him, give them heck when they need it and acknowledge when they have success. There has to be a closeness to the players but not too close that they think you're their buddy. The expectation is to train harder, play harder, outscore every opponent and win every game. The pockets at Manchester United are deep enough to do this. The knowhow is what is lacking. It's been a long time since we had a charismatic manager.
Now. Or at least a pre-agreement before end of the season. Summer manager market is gonna be competitive.Would folks give EtH till end of the season or do we bring in someone now, esp. If it's Nagelsman or Flick?
The fact De Zerbi went in and made them perform better.Out structure will likely be very strong if our when a new manager is appointed.
What do you base the Potter view on?
With how many new and different players? Remember Potter was on a massively upward trajectory with that squad too the year Chelsea took him.The fact De Zerbi went in and made them perform better.
Not to be hyperbolic or dramatic or anything.Anyone. Right now you could stick a chewed olive pit in a trench coat on the sidelines and it'd be better. Get that feckin octopus that predicted world cup results to throw darts at a 98 Panini sticker album and it'd result in a more successful transfer record.
Literally anyone or anything. Except Potter.
End of next season. Give him time
Yeah he could definitely get prepwork done before the actual tournament, we wouldn't even have to announce him as the next manager until after the tournametn so it doesn't end up like Lopetegui with Spain. I think Van Gaal started with us after the World Cup so we can make it work if he's the man we want.He would not.
Yep, that would not fly in Germany. The state of the NT, its lack of success and the struggle to get it back to speed is a very touchy subject here right now. No way the German NT manager, who just got hired last fall to focus on the Euros, could decide to half-arse the job.
Does not mean though we cannot get him to commit for after the tournament, and surely a few video calls to discuss squad planning could be sneaked in.
Why?End of next season. Give him time
This is the point that I was trying to make last night. There is no point right now throwing around different names with different philosophies
What does this even mean?Exactly, I don’t believe for a second that Ratcliffe and his sporting structure haven’t already put plans in place for who would follow ETH once they do fire him but that person will be in line with how Ashworth and the structure have decided in regards to our identity and playing style.
Based on Ratcliffe’s interview I think he wants us to play as we did under Sir Alex where we play until the very last whistle with a never say die attitude so he’ll want a manager who’ll demand high pressing and high stamina as a start, it’s clear it’ll be attacking football or at the very least attractive to watch but everyone gives 100% every minute they’re on the pitch and that no one is bigger than the club.
Or SouthgateAnyone. Right now you could stick a chewed olive pit in a trench coat on the sidelines and it'd be better. Get that feckin octopus that predicted world cup results to throw darts at a 98 Panini sticker album and it'd result in a more successful transfer record.
