Who are Manchester United's five new Brazilian signings?

He's replied to tweets asking things like "Bruno, are you coming to Manchester next season?" with a yes, so I'm assuming there's been some sort of agreement.

Nice, looking forward to seeing this kid play for our u21s. You'd expect him to tear it up in all honesty. But feck, we mustn't forget we still have Henriquez and Will Keane as well.

Wouldn't be a problem with him coming here IMO. The youth teams are a bit light in the striker department anyways. I reckon Henriquez will go out on loan again next season. Hopefully this time, he will go somewhere where he can get some serious game time. I think Will Keane will be with the U21's for the first half of the season to build up his match fitness (after being out so long) and then maybe go out on loan for the rest of the season.

It's not clear when and if he is coming as now fully anyway. He is of James Wilson/Roger Bryne age anyway rather than Will Keane.

There is an agreement, but like with all Brazilian players they need to get a work permit in order to play for us. His problem is that he controversially hasn't been called up for the Brazilian u-17s national side yet due to presumably political reasons- this will make getting the 'exceptional talent' exemption difficult, so he's been trying to get an Italian passport to go around the system. Noone knows how either application has gone so far.

oh btw, apparently Rafael Leao is now on trial at Middlesborough. Didn't think it was really worth bumping the thread for. Good luck to him, I don't think he was ever given a fair shot at United in terms of gametime in his preferred position.

We played him up front, didn't we?

Apparently linked with brining over another lad with Gomes called Wellington Bueno. Anyone heard anything about this kid?

Quick googling tells me he just turned 17, is aka Juninho, plays a bit like Kaka, and, interestingly, has been training with Twente lately. I guess the Twente link-up might not be completely dead after all.

Manchester United to take Brazilian teen Wellington Bueno on pre-season campaign

Manchester United are expected to start pre-season with Desportivo Brasil midfielder Wellington Bueno among their ranks.
The 17-year-old midfielder, who has been compared with former world player of the year Kaka, has been training with FC Twente.

Wellington, who also goes by the name Juninho, is part of a program in which United help develop young stars in South America.
Other players involved include Bruno Gomes, a striker, and Lucas Evangelista, who is on loan at Sao Paolo’s Under 20 side. Anothr, Agnaldo, is with former United striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in Norway.

I doubt it means were taking them all on preseason, just that they're all part of our development programme - I could be wrong though.

Yeah I read the article wrong, that's why deleted my post!

Possible they might come over for the reserves pre-season like Agnaldo/Lucas etc.. did last time.

Apparently Bruno Gomes scored 7 and assisted 2 in a Sao Paulo State u-17s tournament game today..
...
Bruno Gomes ‏@B9oficial 10s
My friends, today I did amazingly 7 goals in the match, for Sao Paulo Championship U17!!! Show!!! Thanks God!!! The team played too!!!

Wow.

Every Brazillian follower seems shocked that he hasn't been picked in U17's.

I think the coach has been left embarrassed by it. I didn't watch the u-17s tournament, but apparently the team played well creatively but didn't anyone to finish off the chances efficiently.

Just seen he retweeted an image from the game showing he was being double marked  if that is true, scoring 7 and creating 2 at any level is impressive..

Nope that image is from April 2nd. Still, damn impressive.

Not sure how I feel about this Bruno lad. When was the last time a talented Brazilian youngster was able to speak and understand English before moving abroad? That's right, never! Something fishy is going on.

When was the last that a seemingly brilliant young Brazilian footballer was obsessed with Utd?

He's been getting English classes for a couple of years since United had an option to sign him and his club are basically set up to develop quality players to sell.

I can't keep up with this... is he coming to United or not? First I read that he was, then that he wasn't, then that he was again. He sounds like some kine of footballing superman who loves our club; why haven't we signed the cnut already?!

Because South American's can't move abroad till they are 18. And when he does he'll require a work permit to move to England. He's been trying to get a Italian passport to get around that but hasn't succeeded yet, it seems.

And with respect to above posts, didn't Henriquez also speak English before moving here?

 If he's a white Brazilian English should be his second language.

7 goals and 2 assists  Jesus that's crazy.
This link is pretty exciting, it's good to know that we are in a good position to sign these young Brazilians, it's a great market to be in.

Bruno Gomes has now been called up to the U17 Brazil squad. I'm not sure if this means he's now eligible for the "special talent" bracket that British clubs require to bring in South American talent, but at least it's good to see he's finally being recognised. Scored two goals today as well.

Bruno Gomes has scored 4 goals in his first three friendly games for Brazil under 17s in the past couple of weeks. Wellington Bueno who was linked with United has signed for Anderlecht and has played a couple of friendlies for their first team in the past week

didnt we let him go or not take him or something?

No, we could still have him. We've never had any divine right to his signature, though if the club wants him and the player wants to come then there's definitely a deal to be made. He's still very young, remember.

According to his father united have decided not to sign Bruno Gomes

Would be a strange decision given that the lad is banging goals in his age group.
