Former Cruzeiro, forward linked to Man United negotiates move to São Paulo
The young Aguilar was once the fuse of a discussion between Traffic and Cruzeiro. Three years later, he is now negotiating his move to São Paulo FC
The forward Aguilar, 18 years old, might be one of the new players on São Paulo u20 at the beginning of the regular season in Brazil.
Traffic and Tricolor are already discussing the paperwork to transfer the youngster, who was part of Manchester United’s project at Desportivo. He was monitored and did regular visitations to Red Devil’s training field, in England.
The negotiation terms are similar to another Desportivo’s young star, whom is already training at São Paulo: Lucas Evangelista. São Paulo will borrow him for two years, with a renewing clause that will give a higher percentage of player’s rights to Tricolor.
Beyond going to São Paulo, Aguilar was offered to Molde FK as well. The club from Norway Premier League already has Agnaldo, former Aguilar’s mate at Desportivo Brasil. Everything points out that the Norwegian team is going to take FC Twente role on Manchester – Desportivo agreement. Anyway, this move will not happen because the player refused it.
Years ago, the forward was the center of a huge fight between Traffic and Cruzeiro. By that time, in 2010, when Aguilar signed for Desportivo Brasil, Cruzeiro’s President, Zezé Perella, made serious accusations and criticized the work done by the business-team.
Zezé Perella said Traffic was impelling the player, by offering 450 thousand reais (250 thousand dollars) to his family. Aguilar was only 15 and couldn’t sign a professional deal yet. That made it easier for his transfer to happen.
Losing his young star was so painfull for Perrella that he said he would close the u15 team and criticized the Pelé’s Law, complaining that this was the reason clubs could do that to each other. Cruzeiro turned down the partnership that was being negotiated with Traffic almost immediately.
The situation was later circumvented with Cruzeiro keeping a big part of Aguilar’s economic rights.
After going to Desportivo, his great performances resulted on being the Top Scorer of Paulista’s u15 and called up to Brazil’s u17, even being a year younger than other players at Émerson Ávila’s list.
Now, after being a reserve on Copa São Paulo, the young promise is waiting for his future to be decided, to make his effort trying to recover the status he had a few years ago.
