Who are Manchester United's five new Brazilian signings?

http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/...y-to-try-and-convince-br?xg_source=activityOn Thursday we brought you a story from Brazil about young striker Bruno Gomes. The 17 year old had long been linked with a move to Manchester United and it seemed like it would just be a matter of time before he turned up at Old Trafford. He couldn't have demonstrated that he wanted the move more, sending tweets for over a year explaining how excited he was at the prospect.

The reports in Brazil said that Udinese had bid €8m for the player and these have now been backed up in Italy, so it's not simply a tactic to try and force Manchester United to pay a little extra for the player. Gianluca Di Marzio has explained that Udinese have sent representatives over to Brazil to try and get them to finalsie the deal now, with Gomes moving when he turns 18 in July.

Di Marzio is an Italian journalist who specialises in transfer news and has become widely known in the country as something of a celebrity. He's known there as an expert on leaks from agents and clubs, and is often ahead of everyone else, such as when he broke the news that Pep Guardiola was going to be the new manager of Bayern Munich. That's not to say he gets everything right, nobody does, but Di Marzio does appear to be a vehicle for people to get their news out.

He also explains that Manchester United had thought the lure of Ferguson would more or less be enough for the player and that was true, the situation didn't change much with the arrival of David Moyes - Gomes still said he wanted to make the move as long as he was wanted. Wayne Rooney had also been used to talk to the youngster and that left a big impression, but if Manchester United won't match the fee Udinese are willing to pay it's all useless.

Udinese could have this wrapped up by the end of next week, 'stealing' a player Manchester United have been linked with for years. Di Marzio says that there have been negotiations from Manchester United to sign him, they just couldn't agree a fee.

Not sure what bothers me most; losing out on a top young Brazilian striker or all the Woodward "jokes" I'll now inevitably have to endure.

Wayne Rooney used to talk to the youngster? What? How good is this kid?

I can't figure out why we're struggling to on a deal in terms of money when correct me if I'm wrong but we partly own the team he plays for.

I thought Deportivo Brasil was owned by Traffic Management who we paid a nice amount to to develop youngsters from Brazil for us and we're official partners of the team.

Yeah they're basically a feeder club with ourselves having first refusal or something. It doesn't mean we own them.

Which we have an agreement with on a set price I thought. So again why were we not able to make a deal?

This thread is ages old. Has any of the info in it been of any relevance whatsoever?

Piece on Deportivo on Football Focus now.

Edit: Nothing very interesting or anything new. When asked was Bruno coming to United the director just smiled and said he's going to be a good player and we'll see what happens.

He (Bruno Gomes) retweeted a message that he's close to being announced for us

Looks like this is far from being sorted. Someone tweeted him asking if he is going to São Paulo or Manchester United and he said "to tell you the truth I don't know where I will be going".

Bruno Gomes hints he's signing for Manchester United

It's hard to keep up with what is happening with Brazilian youngster Bruno Gomes. A couple of weeks ago Sao Paulo were briefing that the youngster was their player and would be announced soon but the player's family and agent denied that and then started encouraging Manchester United talk.
His father and agent would RT any article they could find with a Manchester United link to him and when the BBC picked up the club's interest in the player they all got quite exited, but this was just a few month's after his agent told a Manchester United website that the club had pulled out and a deal wouldn't happen.
Today Bruno Gomes himself has been at it again and it's easy to think from his tweets that he'll be announced as a Manchester United player today. First of all he tweeted the following:
He then RT'd anyone who replied to him insinuating he'd be signing for Manchester United, this is just a small selection:

He's done this before and then deleted all the RTs so whilst it certainly looks like he thinks he's signing for Manchester United it's impossible to know what the truth is.
from Sport Witness.

Looks like he's signed for Internacional.

There's a lot of talk of Van Gaal wanting to sign Bruno Gomes. Apparently we have a £3m deal to sign him, whereas every other club has a £40m buyout clause.

He seems very keen to join, whether that's because supposedly United are his dream club or maybe it's something he knows, but he's been retweeting a lot of tweets regarding coming to United.

Just had a look then, and apparently we own 25% of his rights, which is weird because I thought part ownership of players by British clubs was illegal?

Edit: He's just posted this tweet. He is obviously keen to join but it doesn't look like any deal has been done.

Where is he playing now?

Either hes the biggest troll ever or theres something to it. Hes retweeting everyone who mentions him and united basically.

Either that or it's an incredibly long game wind-up by Indykaila...

At least Rafael still has potential. Remember Rodrigo Possebon, thought that kid would make it, what ever became of him?

He suffered that terrible tackle didn't he and never looked the same after that. According to wiki, he plays in the Brazilian 4th tier.
IIRC it was that uber c unt Pogatetz, gruesome player.
