Well Robocop was great despite its age.

And the ending just sort of didn't happen.
Loved it

Terminator
Rambo
Men in black

Not exactly a movie but I never watched Breaking Bad, for some reason I’m reluctant to give it a chance, although I’m aware (by reading critics) it’s actually amazing

Plenty of the old classics like Gone With The Wind, Casablanca, Ben-Hur, Some Like It Hot, Sunset Boulevard, Lawrence Of Arabia, The Bridge On The River Kwai, Seven Samurai etc.

There are also some slightly newer classics/famous films like Apocalypse Now, Deer Hunter, Rambo, Top Gun, Goonies, RoboCop etc

As for the newer stuff: 90% of MCU and DC films. I also refuse to watch Disney live action remakes.

You're missing out.
Technically Alien is superb.
I know and it seems like an obvious watch; but as I said, I generally don't like creepy (or scary/horror-y) movies, and I've always had the impression that Alien is on the wrong side of those things for me.

Me neither, and also not The Wire. We watch a series for fun before going to bed and I'm not interested in watching something fairly grim/depressing at that time. But then I'm not a series person anyway, so the list of good ones that I haven't seen is quite long.

I'm the same with The Wire and Sopranos.

Basically any war film, I've not seen it. Full Metal Jacket, Apocalypse Now, Platoon etc. Though is Inglorious Basterds considered a war film? If so, then that's the only one I've seen.

Only seen Rocky 1, never seen the other 27 of them. I don't like the character, so had no desire to watch more after that.

Haven't seen any Indiana Jones, no Star Wars beyond the first one. Lord of the Rings. Harry Potter. Only Marvel films I've seen other than the X-Men films are the more comedy-oriented ones (Ragnarok, Guardians, Deadpool).

I've not seen a single Kevin Smith film, I keep meaning to rectify that, but then I just don't. Only Coen Brothers films I've seen are Fargo and BIg Lebowski, I need to do something about that too.

Still haven't seen Oppenheimer.

The entire premise relies on you watching more than just the start before declaring it rubbish. It's like putting on Finding Nemo and immediately complaining that Nemo isn't even missing.

Honestly though, it's a fun movie once it gets going. It's not Children of Men, though.
I haven't seen Nemo either.

Tbh, it's about a drunk bodyguard with a poor child actor trying to win a swim race. Felt like a college dudes film coursework.

Okay so you definitely didn't watch far enough, if you think the swim race is relevant. Also that's Dakota Fanning, possibly the only competent child actor in the history of Hollywood.

Citizen Kane
Casablanca

Probably more movies that came out when my great great great great grandfather was a toddler.

For me it’s a lot of pre 1990 movies.

Citizen Kane
Anything Paul Newman. I really want to watch Cool Hands Luke, the colour of money, the Hustler but never got round to it.
Same with Steve Mcqueen. Want to watch Le Mans.
For some reason I’ve not watched Vice yet even though I’m a fan of Adam McKay.

Can’t think of much more. Casino and some other early De Niro movies probably have been missed.

That's an oxymoron
and B, Natalie Portman, Maculey Culkin, Saorsie Ronan etc

I mean, it seemed like it was made in a bedroom, I felt it was shot horribly and the script and the general 2000s vibe put me off.

I've seen Goodfellas 5 times but haven't watched any of the Godfather films.
Decided to watch the Godfather last night. Was pretty good but I still prefer Goodfellas.

Nuts, I've seen all of them except Fast times at...

Most of the Bond-movies with Daniel Craig. I've seen Casino Royale and Skyfall, but not the others.

Gladiator is one of the worst films I've ever seen
Baffles me people like it.

I haven't watched Harry Potter because one minute of the nonsense annoys me. Never seen Shrek. Similar to another poster, watched Goodfellas and not The Godfather.

Dead Poet's Society couldn't watch more than 5 mins.

I'd be a big fan of Robocop, Terminator, Casino, Shawshank, 1917, In the Name of the Father just to balance out my crankiness
Shrek is genuinely a great film. Brilliant music, good cast, very funny, lots of heart.

The other reasons are whatever, but this is because you didn't watch long enough to get to the main premise.

It's not a film about a drunk bodyguard who mentors a young girl to win the big swimming race.
The premise - fecking hell it's not Predestination! I get the premise and know what it is about, drunk bodyguard hired by rich family, cleans up his act, bonds with child (weird), she gets abducted, she get's abducted "creasy, save me", now let me torture someone in a car while the director uses a very yellow filter. It was naff, boring, very teenage boy film.

Gladiator was great but then I first watched it at 13. Rewatching in my 30s and it was, like most Ridley Scott films, average.

I’ve never seen Blade Runner, though people keep telling me to watch it.

I know and it seems like an obvious watch; but as I said, I generally don't like creepy (or scary/horror-y) movies, and I've always had the impression that Alien is on the wrong side of those things for me.

I showed my 14 year old Alien last week, she was bored out of her mind and kept asking when it would get scary.

Romcoms like The Holiday - not arsed about them.

Several recent Disney/Dreamworks titles. - I would actually watch these and watch the occasional new Disney one on Plus though.

Only seen the first LOTR and the idea of watching any more makes me want to gouge my own eyes out.

Same for Star Wars.
I felt like that about Lord of the Rings, but eventually watched the other two.

My eyes are still in tact, but my god are they long. And incredibly dull.

Was the gore at the time remarked upon as too much or was it just of it's time? If they tried it now it'd never get a release!
Verhoven said he made it extra gory for comic effect. But when the censors made him dial it back, he reckons all it did was remove the element of satire and it just resulted in it being more realistic and horrific.
