Where will Rooney end up?

Maybe with the money they earn from the sales of Gotze and Lewandowsi. Just a thought mind.

As far as I know they have one player on £100k+ a week. Fees are one thing but where are they going to get the £250k a week over 5 years. Rooney is going to want to, at least, match his current wage.

I have no problem in selling him to a foreign club but there's no way we should sell to another PL team. PSG would be ideal.

He's probably going to go to another English club, really can't see Rooney adjusting to life abroad.

He's a just a richer version of Karl Pilkington who happens to know how to play some decent football.

Good point, but is it true that United have told him to take a pay cut and that's why he's wants to clear off? I don't know but I won't miss him. A good player, but not worth his current wages.

Posted in the Rooney thread already but -

Atkinson and Macari summed it up best in the studio when they said there's nowhere for him to go. They burst out laughing at the thought of Rooney living in Paris.

He'll be here next season I reckon. Don't see him leaving.

We were going to be talking about his contract this summer according to reports and he's "asked for a move" again. Call me cynical but it's him and Stretford up to their old tricks.

I'm not doubting his ability for a second, I am however questioning how many years we are likely to get out of him, how much bullshit we will get from him and how good he is likely to be when he reaches 30.

He's at a peak now in terms of resale value, with all things considered I think we should sell him and invest in a young talent. That said, I would expect £40m at least.

i think if United are selling it would only be to a foreign club

PSG, Madrid or possibly Bayern/Barca

I can't see Rooney going for that

I think the most likely solution will be for Rooney to sort himself out and knuckle down

If Ronaldo leaves Madrid he could be their latest Glactico, but apparently he's not the best trainer as it is, can't see the sun doing much to improve that.

He'll go abroad. Heinze wanted to go to Liverpool and the club said no, and no matter how much he spat his dummy out we held firm and he had to go to Real. I can see the same happening again. We might end up making less than if we were to sell him to City or Chelsea, but we wont be strengthening a rival no matter what.

I can imaging him going to PSG. He'll be one of the big names there, in a league that isnt as strong as the English league so he wont even need to be at the level we expect of him every week, which will hide when he isnt at his best (which has been the case for a while).

It suits PSG as well, Rooney is a big name and would be a statement of intent for them as a club that they want to be a force to be reckoned with in Europe. City would only want him to say they have got one over on us again, Chelsea I cant imagine wanting to spend another £50 million on a striker that has had form issues, and I can't see Pep wanting a player like him either (talented, but some attitude issues - some similarities to Ronaldinho at the end of his time at Barca). Real Madrid would depend on who their manager is, I wont rule them out totally. But PSG just seems to fit

It would be poetic if he was involved in a swap deal for Ronaldo.

Ronaldo is on his way here anyway.

I think we could get £30 million for Rooney. Put that towards the transfer of Di Maria.

We simply cannot let him join City or Chelsea. But I can't see him wanting to leave the country...

Don't think Moyes will want to be the man who sold our star player to a rival and helped them win the league. Won't be the best start to his career as our manager. If he leaves, it'll be abroad.

Got Chelsea written all over it.

Considering he asked for a transfer, clearly he's got an idea of where he wants to be. He's close mates with Cole and Terry and knows Chelski are looking for a striker (probably hence the timing, to let them know he'd be interested to listen).

There's no chance in hell we will sell to Chelsea, none at all.

He's got 2 years left on his contract so we have a huge say over where he goes.

We won't sell him to another club in the Premier League.

If not United then 100% Bayern

Mark my words

Cant see it. They are already signing Gotze and possibly Lewandowski, they have no use for another striker, not at the price/wages of Rooney. And I cant imagine Germany appealing to him.

PSG would fit, if not then Chelsea or Madrid

He'd probably get on better with Germany than Spain tbh.

Besides, if he goes there I doubt they'd sign Lewa.

He'll go to Chelsea. Of course we'd rather sell him elsewhere but I reckon he'd prefer to remain in England where his family is and Chelsea are the only ones who can offer us enough money to sell and offer him £200k+ wages he'll be after.

Chelsea won't offer 60m:lol: They are not that insane

Ah, you might be underestimating the stupidity/insanity of an owner with unlimited wealth. Also, as someone mentioned, Abramovich might want to present Mourinho with a special gift for goodwill.

I reckon he will be at united, he is just throwing a trademark tantrum as per usual and will probably be talked around. I would however preferably like to see him sold abroad not to another team in England.
