Carrick getting injured at any point would be a far bigger disaster niMic, but it still hasn't encouraged us to address that major concern!

I can easily see Evans filling in for Evra. He hardly ever misses any games, either through injury, suspension or for playing shit. Why would anyone believe his position would be more of a priority to cover than Carrick's is beyond me!
 
I actually thought we were going to buy a left back. Maybe not a major name, but somehow who can fill in for Evra, and after this season, who knows. We'll have to evaluate what Evra has got left and how Fabio and the new lad are doing.

But now I don't see us signing a left back. And while I like Fergie's long term thinking with Fabio, this has the makings of a short term disaster.

Look at how much of our attacking play goes through Evra, you think Evans could cover for that?


We're short at LB, thats a simple fact.

Those who claim we will buy an LB and ignore CM.

No i don't think so, but as i have said it will still happen.

Do you think absolutely no-one can cover for Carrick? Of course not, but that's where we are, and have been since the start of last season.

So for that reason my point regarding Evans still stands, irrespective of whether i deem it sufficient or not. All i am saying to you is that if CM is not worth covering why would LB be any more worthy?

I hope you aren't including me in that. I think we need both but knowing how Fergie works with CMs I would have thought LB would have been sorted first.
 
I've already said, we need a CM.... but there's a million reasons why we might not be in for anyone, available players being just one reason.

No, my points are general they are not meant to prove anyone else wrong and myself right. But needing and getting are 2 different things. All i have suggested is i personally cannot see any logic for us getting a LB for the reasons i have given.

For me the CM is so far and away the greatest need, any other position is almost irrelevant by comparison. If we can ignore there, with no cover whatsoever for Carrick, then with Evans as available, if not ideal cover for Evra, i believe anyone thinking we will get a LB is going to be sorely disappointed.

Knowing how Fergie works it surprised me you expect him to sort LB at all while he has any reasonable source of cover. Whether we deem it adequate or not.
