What is Luis Suarez worth?

That freekick was more outrageuos than the volley. He hit it with a gentle run up for a pretend cross, as opposed to a Ronaldo rugby power run up, and still generated ridiculous power from the side of his foot. The premier league will miss him when he's gone

I won't, the sooner the better he fecks off. Don't get me wrong, he's a class player, but he plays for you lot and he bites people. Good riddance when he leaves.

Ridiculous player really. He's just become so dangerous at everything these days. Attacking wise there isn't really a weakness in his game.

Fair play to him, with these performances he's gonna reach the point where people ignore his previous transgressions due to his brilliance on the pitch.

£70 million + atm. Up there with Ronaldo and Henry for me in terms of how good he is. Think I said £30 million pre-season.... whoops. Unlike Sturridge whose goalscoring I think will fade away I see Suarez maintaining this level for a long time.

"Opta defines a big chance as follows: 'A situation where a player should reasonably be expected to score usually in a one-on-one scenario or from very close range.' Suarez has created 16 such opportunities in the current Premier League campaign. That's as many as Chelsea's Eden Hazard and Manchester City's David Silva have managed between them. In fact, nobody else has created more than ten big chances."

"It was the fifth match this season in which the 27-year-old has created two or more big chances - nobody else has done that more than twice."

Selfish Suarez? He Puts It On A Plate...

He was excellent against Arsenal, and deserved a goal. He's created 58 chances this season in the league. A key pass (or chance created) is basically a shot assist (unrelated to the above). If I had a lot of time, I'd probably make a diagram of where the "chances" are located.

What an absolute weapon.....

Liverpool's Luis Suárez claims Patrice Evra race allegations were 'all false'
• Risks re-opening race row with Mancester United defender
• Admits biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic was a mistake

Luis Suárez has risked reopening his race row with Manchester United defender Patrice Evra by claiming he has no regrets over the incident which he described as "all false".

The Liverpool striker was banned for eight games after being found guilty of racially abusing the Frenchman in 2011. However, Suárez says the only mistakes he regrets in his career involved twice biting an opponent. He told Sport890 AM: "Let me tell you, I've made only two mistakes in my career. My first was when I was playing for Ajax and I bit an opponent. My second was when I bit [Branislav] Ivanovic [against Chelsea].

"The case with Evra was all false. I was accused without proof. But that's in the past. I was sad at that moment, but I'm happy today. I have grown up. I have thought more about things before doing them.

"Now people in England can't talk about me because I'm not doing anything wrong. They have to talk about me only as a footballer. I said I'm sorry [after the Ivanovic bite] and that was all, end of story. I've nothing else to regret. All the other things were like a movie that people in England believed in."

What an absolute weapon.....

To see him lift the Premier League title. Dont care about anything. We must beat Liverpool when we play them. We must.

Very impressive stats. Surprised that Ozil and Rooney are not among the top creators of "big chances". I guess the reason is that many of their assists come from set pieces.

Cheers, lads.

Someone mentioned it earlier but there's a semblance of truth to it: he does seem to attract controversy with his play-acting when he goes on these goal droughts, as such. There genuinely wasn't a murmur of controversy involving him from late September until very recently. It appears when he's rattling in goals from all angles, he's happy, but resorts to the theatrics as soon as the goals dry up a little.

Very impressive. I expected Ozil to be up there as well. Ramsay being there is also very impressive considering he plays a lot deeper than the rest. Silva was expected, he's always in there somewhere, best playmaker in the league imo.

And has been out with injuries for a while now.

Forget Rooney, I wouldnt be surprised if our team has created less big chances than Suarez this season.

Liverpool would be wise to cash in on him the next time he wants to leave. They could get at least 60-70m for him and buy 2 or three very good players, including a viable replacement for that sort of money.

No they wouldn't, world class players are hard to come by you are better keeping him when he's in the form that he is. IMO

Look at Bale in theory the players they bought were viable replacements, however one analogy I read (as cringey as it is) made a lot of sense, selling Bale and buying the players they did was like selling an iphone and buying a phone book, a calculator a notebook and a camera. When you can have all those attributes in one player.

But you have a "world class" manager surely it makes sense. It's not like your a one man band is it, that sort of profit would be very pleasing to an American owner.

More like selling an iphone and buying 7 cans and a few yards of string.

The thing that I have noticed, especially against Arsenal, is that his old habits of screaming, faking injury etc are creeping back into his game.

Who said Rodgers is world class? He can't be world class he hasn't achieved anywhere near enough in his career to be considered world class.

We aren't a one man band but anyone can see Suarez is the heartbeat of the team so why would we want to sell him? Tell me this, why are United throwing everything and the kitchen sink to keep Rooney? Its because good teams keep good players, and if we want to become a good team again we have to set down a marker that we are not a selling club- that we are not merely a stepping stone.

No way. I wouldn't sell him if £100m was offered. You don't sell one of the five best players in the world if you want to advance.

We have won titles since selling Ronaldo for a world record fee. Yes, we have not won Europe but we have been successful. Our fall has had nothing to do with letting Ronaldo go, sure we would be better with him but sometimes you have to make a decision.
