What if Liverpool win the league this year?

What if.

What if I'm taking a shower and I slip on a bar of soap?

Oh my God I'd be killed!

Deja vu ! Every season, we start by saying city will walk the league, then Liverpool goes on a run and the local liverpool supporters start geting excited.
Lads..It's Liverpool.

They will not win it.

Can somone post the boom bust cycle chat to remind everyone what liverpool are good at doing.

For all this talk of Liverpool and the title, they are only 1 point ahead of the pack.

It's far too early yet to know what can happen, but I think they've established they are genuine title contenders and not just top 4 contenders.

A lot can change even by Christmas. How long ago were we all saying City we're going to run away with the league? Remember at one moment Chelsea were like 7/8 points off Man City and now they are 1 point ahead. There is a very long way to go yet.

Need to finish top 4 this season. Need to buy top, top players in the summer and we must appeal to them in the way we play and the CL we can offer. Next season Pep, Mourinho and Conte will have got their squad up to speed just like Klopp has this season. We can't afford to be out of CL spots when that happens, its now or never.

The league title is not even something Liverpool fans are thinking of. We just want to continue seeing some lovely football and lots of goal.

Yeah they are serious contenders. Hate to see it happen but its been so long since their last title I guess it will be sooner rather than later that it happens.

Firmino, Coutinho, Mane, Origi, Sturridge and Ings, That is some serious fire power!
Ings is out for a season

They don't have enough top players and their brilliant form will run out at some point.

Chelsea looks like the best bet, with some proven stars (Hazard, Costa, Kante, even Luiz) and considerable depth. City is also going to be only better, and the likes of Aguero, Silva and De Bruyne can save even the lost games for them.

This is correct

Still very early. Think they have a thin squad once you get past the starters, and with the Christmas schedule and Klopp's style, it will be hard for them to maintain this through the end of the year. The league is a marathon, not a sprint.

Still, they've looked good and are free scoring right now. However, another issue for them is that they can't keep a clean sheet (except against us). Even when thrashing Watford, they let one in. At some point in the season, the goals will dry up for a spell...they always do....and the shoddy defence will come back to haunt them.

They'll be close though. Credit to Klopp. Playing good football.

We've got about 400 members on here who are Liverpool fans (230 filled out the 'Supports' thing, while there are plenty who haven't), so things will be interesting if they do.

Just hope nobody creates a congratulations thread like someone did when City beat Barcelona.
It'd be their last act as a caf member.

They're bound to win it at some point. At least they'll have done it properly through hard work, sensible buying, luck and good management if they win it in the impending future, unlike Chel$ki, Citeh or PSG who just bought it with dubious funding.

Still, feck em, hope they don't.

Its clear people are being defensive but with majority saying last year Leicester won't win the title, they fecking won it. Still doens't seem real.
Liverpool have a great chace, no doubt about it and its not about how poor the defence is, no star quality players and injuries that will hopefully cripple them due to lack of depth, it's about the pathetic rivals.
Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal aren't really much better now are they?
The best chance for Liverpool to not win it may actually be if they remain 1/2 and with everyone talking about how they can finally do it, they will hopefully crumble under pressure. Hoping Stevie Me will rejoin as the icing on the cake as Liverpool would be sad enough to allow it to happen as a last chance saloon for him to bag the title, only for his nighmare slip to infect the squad and derail them.
Threat is real unfortunately, very real.

If they do win it the only thing I want to see is Gerrard's immediate thoughts about them winning it without him.

Thanks man. Means a lots from a fan of a top club. I know it hurts like feck to admit it too. Nice one.

They are going to smash all the dross in Anfield this season. Yeah you have to say after their great start v the top teams and their lack of games they have a really good shout. The way they create chances seems effortless, I am genuinely worried as Klopp has won titles.

Think their squad is too thin. But then again Jurgen Klopp is a serious man manager and can get the best out of average players. One or two injuries and I can see them falling behind, plus it'll be an ask for them to play that high pressing game for the whole season.

Your comment is full of contradictions .

Unfortunately they will. City are too inconsistent and Arsenal will choke. It's going to be a nightmare.

They came close a few times in the past decade. Won't be surprised if they go all the way this season, or any other season for that matter. While they had a very skillful team in 2009, and Suarez in 2014, this time around they have a team of average players who execute their manager's plan to perfection. City won the league, so I won't be shocked if Liverpool win it.

Personally though I think they will come short in the end and be lucky to finish in the top four. A sharp drop is imminent after Christmas IMO.

I'll get a lot of stick for this and rightly so but even though I pretty much despise the club, I don't think I'd hate to see them win the league. I mean, I would hate it, obviously but I wouldn't hate it, hate it.
I mean there are a lot of similarities between the two clubs and they are in a similar position to us, when we won the League, for the first time in 26 years. There'd be a certain romance about it and if they keep playing the way they have been, they'll be very deserving winners. That added to the fact that they have a likeable manager, no real dickheads in their team and the fact that they'd be denying City and Pep, for me, would go a tiny way towards helping to alleviate the feeling of watching a massive river of smug, scouse, semen flow all over and drown everything, even remotely football related, for the next 9 billion years.

Yes, I hate myself.

They're in form and flying but that won't last all season. When the downturn comes just have to hope someone else is up there with them to capitalise. I don't think I'd care that much the if they as a club won it, its the fans I can't stand.

What will happen? There will be atleast 3 movies made about it, 10 books written on the triumph and kristian fecking walsh will jiggle his fat belly in the stands to make up for his sobbing gif from crystanbul.

400 ffs. The place is crawling with them. Worse ones are those who come around only when their team does well. One actually thinks that they are the best team in the world right now.

I'd HATE it!!
I'd feel sick for ages...
I couldn't watch any of the sports news until it was off topic.
Grew up in the 80's when the hatred feeling started and it will never leave...

If Liverpool win the league, they'll literally buy Southampton football club.

Ings has done his 'other' knee. Out for the season again poor sod.

Mate. It's definitely something Liverpool fans are thinking of. It doesn't of course mean we are favourites (City are) or that I think we'll win it (I think Chelsea will) but with the wonderfully entertaining way we are playing, sitting top of the league, and with our relatively unchallenging schedule from now until the City game (at which time I believe we may well be still top) of course Liverpool fans are dreaming of that long overdue title.

Just the thought scares me, let's hope it doesn't happen.

Life goes on.

Besides I'm surrounded by smug City fans these days so at least I wouldn't have to put up with them and the nauseating Pep love in that would ensue.

Ha ha - you should be promoted immediately !

They only do well in the League when they're not in Europe.

I personally don't think they'll win it they're on a really good run right now but when injuries hit or the goals dry up their squad depth just isn't there to compensate. Especially at the back.

There's 27 games to go.

This is a team that 'slipped up' with 3 games to go...
