Music What concerts/gigs are you going to?

How was it?

I'm gonna see them this summer in Madrid at one of my favourite venues.
Yeah we enjoyed it a lot. They played two full albums right the way through back to back in a small venue in Dublin. (Bossanova and Trompe le Monde) we had good tickets so were very close to the band which was cool

seeing them again in outdoor gig in august in Dublin too

 My loyalty is foremost!

But please help a brother out! I'm seeing if I can find something soon-ish so that I can also book the travel etc. It's a decent line up for sure, and I've always had watching Pearl Jam in my bucket list so will be nice. Do you know the venue and is it good? The one where they do Primavera Sound and Cruilla here is great, love that place. Might get a ticket just to go and chill there and not care about Lana Del Rey crying about summertime sadness
Nah I was just kidding of course, if I hear of anyone not going, I'll think of you - what is the venue? MadCool has changed a couple of times recently I think.

Check out the lineup of the Noches del Botanico concerts too (not a festival, but gigs almost every night from early June to late July), that's my favourite summer event in Madrid. It's in the Royal Botanical gardens, the place is wonderful, the gates open early and there's a super chill vibe with food and drinks trunks... It's where I'm going to see Pixies.

Cheers mate! Can't wait, I love them but more importantly they're my girlfriend's favourite band, she's moving to Madrid this summer and they're playing like a week after she gets here, so it'll be amazing I'm sure!

This is the location: C. Laguna Dalga, 28021, Madrid

Cheers for the recommendation there, I'll check it out.

Saw Feeder at the Albert Hall last night, think it was the 8th time I've seen them, my favourite band.

They're just so, so good. The Albert Hall is beautiful too.

I read that as Sam Fender first time round for some reason

but yeah feeder are cool although I only know a handful of their songs.

I’ve seen some bands about 4/5 times each. It’s all good if it’s something you enjoy why not keep going. I imagine in a few years those bands ive seen4/5 times will be 9/10 times

Do they still play Walking On The Moon?

Thats... a lot.

The maximum I have attended the same artist is twice and that is Steven Wilson and it was for two different albums.

Just been every tour I've been able to go to. I've loved every album so why not enjoy it live and give thanks to them for making it eh?

I know someone who's seen them 50+ times and I thought that was too much though

Eyewitness reports claim he likes to "grip his cucumber".

Yeah definitely, sounds great that you got to enjoy them so many times.

50 times though.

We saw The Whitlams live last weekend. Very good indeed and it was really great to see them perform my two favorite songs.

Saw the Gaslight Anthem on weds at the Roundhouse and they were brilliant. A set packed with oldies and some newies in there for good measure too. Off to see The Mystery Jets in April and then Hurray for the Riff Raff in May.

Saw Bell Witch tonight, and they were very good as usual. The played their newest 80-minute track (or at least most of it). It's a vibe. At times though, when the song gets proper slow, it can be a bit boring. But yeah, always a good experience watching them.

Just home from seeing The Hives in Wolverhampton.

16 year old me was right, they are the best live band I've ever seen.

Bit of a shame they haven't released anything good for years ;)

Nah, the old stuff is still brilliant, and a very good live band.

I have Limp Bizkit in Belfast, Foo Fighters in Cardiff and The Breeders in Nottingham all in June.

I actually just came over to Manchester from Ireland to see a gig last night in Big Hands. Small Australian band called Drunk Mums. Good craic in there, and glad I did it.

I've met so many bands in Big Hands, but when they were playing Academy shows and not in the bar itself. I didn't even know Big Hands did gigs!

Most recent gig I went to was Knuckle Puck at Rebellion in Manchester last Tuesday, brilliant night. Before that I saw Between You & Me w/ Broadside supporting in the same venue earlier this year.

Next gigs I have booked are Punk Rock Factory at the Academy and Sleep Token in the new Co-Op Arena near Man City's stadium, both in November. Hopefully something else pops up before then. Slam Dunk Festival next month is something I've been thinking about but may have to give it a miss.

Saw the Jesus and Mary Chain in Dublin last week. Well worth the drive! I've seen them a heap of times and that was one of the best shows.

Yeah can't claim to be an expert as it was my first time there, I came over from Ireland primarily for the gig. But yeah they were set up right down the back of the bar, looked like it was usually a seating area. It was only 4 pounds a ticket and I think a 150 person limit. Cool place though, went up to the roof after the gig to hang out.

Just got tickets for Imagine Dragons! I'm so hyped. I missed them last time they were in New York and I was so mad at myself. They just announced their tour and I bought presale pit tickets. I'll be bawling to Bad Liar come August 2nd. I can relate to a lot of their songs and I always feel that were written for me. Thunder, Demons, just to name a few others.

Got Massive Attack tickets the other day. Really hyped about that one, hoping they do a lot of stuff from their 90's output.

Also recently got tickets to Sigur Ros, which is one of those bands I haven't seen yet that I want to see. Hopefully will be great as well.

Insanely jealous of both of those. I've seen Massive Attack once and they were great. Enjoy!

Wait. Echo and the Bunnymen are supporting Arcade Fire?

I've got Tool next week. Can't fecking wait! Then, it's the Smashing Pumpkins in June. I get to see two of my favourite bands, including two of my all-time favourite drummers in the space of a few weeks. I've peaked, lads.
