Music What concerts/gigs are you going to?

Went to see Iron Maiden last night with the Hu( very good) warming up. Little disappointed with no Prowler, no Wrathchild, no Running Free, no Sanctuary, no Phantom, and no Run for the Hills on the set list. That would be fine if Maiden was new and pushing an album ect, but they’re old and pushing an album. Anyway they still hit all the notes and play fast and heavy. Good show although the band and crowd looked like they were in a Spinal Tap movie.
I think it's good that they don't just play the same songs over and over. I didn't get to see them with the current setliet, but Caught Sonewhere in Time, Stranger in a Strange Land and Alexander the Great would have made for a pretty good show.

Dylan at the Royal Albert Hall this Wednesday. Seen him a number of times but particularly looking forward to this one. Personally quite enjoy his anti-performer style, think this will be a good setting for him.

Have tickets for them on Thursday at The Albert Hall and tickets for Nas on Sunday. Booked the week off work to do 3 gigs, and I've already bottled the first one tonight.
Did you go to Nas? I’m going on Thursday.

Saw him a couple of months back, it wasn't good.

Loved it. Three of us had tickets but spares kept popping up on ticketmaster throughout the day so we got two more for friends who were over for the match. Are you at London gigs?

Decent. It’s one of my favourite albums so I’m pretty excited for it. Nah I’m going Wolverhampton, which seems like a weird place for him to be but apparently they have some kind of arena that’s newly renovated.

I tried for months to get Nas tickets and finally managed to get 2 resale tickets on Sunday night, went to Edinburgh to see him on Monday night. It was epic, loved every minute of it.

It was really good. Could have done with an extra warm up act though.

First trip to Co-op Live here in Manchester on Tuesday, to see Sleep Token. Fecking typical, City are playing at home the same evening.

Does anyone know any good pubs/bars nearby that might be more likely to play rock music and won't be as swamped with match goers? We'll probably go out in the city centre in the afternoon but make a move closer to the venue by 6pm.

Going to see Vampire Weekend next week. They were one of the first bands I saw back in 2009ish and now seeing them again 15 years later.

I saw Alcest on Friday. It was very good, though I haven't listened to the new album as much as the old stuff. They played Protection, Sapphire and Ecaille de lune pt 2 on the bounce though which was incredible. Overall a very good show, even though I would have loved them to play Percees de lumiere.

Yesterday was Sigur Ros. It was a beautiful concert, and unusually low sound volume. Our concert hall was a bit weird - we sat very high up on the balcony and all the lighting were clearly done for those who were down on the floor. The effect, while quite beautiful, were almost like you were watching in from the outside so to speak. Nevertheless, great gig and the orchestra was fantastic. A lot of nice arrangements.

Went to see Julia Holter in Oslo this week. Amazing gig - apart from the music as such, as well-performed and great-sounding as anything I've seen.

Tickets got for Queens of the Stone Age in Dublin.

Seeing Oasis then QOTSA a few days apart in August. That'll be an expensive month.
