Just read a summary of the things the candidates are promising. All pie in the sky ideas. This country is unsalvageable.

Does anyone actually know why Kate Hoey was in Labour in the first place?

Absolute idiotic poll.

Conservative remainers will never forgive Boris for Brexit and the Labour die hards will not abandond Labour and vote Conservative.

Boris or anyone pressing for Brexit will never ever command a majority.

That must have been paid for by Boris or the ERG

The Lib Dems winning less seats under a no deal Boris seems very improbable. Obviously it depends on the constituencies but I'd expect him to cause the biggest Tory to Lib Dem movement.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson...feck me!

Was obvious years ago tbh. Fairly sure I said it on here and someone wasn't having it then. Pitifully predictable. Only hope is that a general election is not far away and he doesn't last long enough to cause too much damage. Or maybe he needs to so that people wake the feck up and sort themselves out.

He won't do anything different than May will he ?

The tories are getting pushed into going for a no deal due to their voters jumping onto the Brexit Party wagon(Plus Brexit is all the party has in terms getting people to vote for them). At this stage it doesn't matter who the tory leader is.

True. Maybe the best thing to come out of Brexit will be the end of the Tories. Every cloud...

Exactly. This is the perfect time to get the 'Prime Minister Boris Johnson' phase out of the way. Hopefully, in as short a period of time as possible.

I guess if shit does hit the fan in the form of no deal brexit, it's better for a brexiter to be in power than someone like May.

Although I think at this stage no deal voters have accepted that a no deal will go horribly wrong but they will see this as the price to pay for ''FREEDOM'' etc. Mostly because no deal voters are wealthy enough to take the hit and old enough that they'll die before seeing the long term damage.

In a no deal scenario it doesn't matter who's in charge. Can't influence anything anyway, brexiteer or no brexiteer. He'd be a great figurehead to take the hatred afterwards though and get him out of the way of British politics as quickly as possible.

Oh yeah that's what I meant.

So labours attempt to take control today - what are the odds

I think they only need 3 conservative votes (and they will probably get that) - but that assumes some of the opposition MP's dont back the government and i suspect some will

It's how they weigh the data (and that can be done conveniently in a few ways) that's the bigger mystery. For example that says Boris would get 37% well May got 42% of the vote and only got 313 seats yet Boris gets 395 in their projections. There's some big assumptions somewhere.

Increased Lib Dem vote would presumably damage Labour in a lot of marginals and hand them to the Tories.

Wow... It's all.about brexit for the conservative leadership

.Andrew Bridgen tells Guido that he has asked the whips to remove the whip from Tories who voted against the Government with Labour’s motion

This would then stop them from voting in the leadership election

Universal credit delays are a factor in sex work, government accepts
Minister apologises for DWP memo dismissing link between long waits and survival sex work

https://www.theguardian.com/society...s-a-factor-in-prostitution-government-accepts

The memo dismissed evidence that universal credit was a cause of increased numbers of women turning to sex work as anecdotal. It said the phenomenon was influenced by a range of factors, from drug addiction and the rise of AirBnB to EU immigration.

The depravity of this government shouldn't still be able to surprise me, but it does.

If Boris proposes to scrap the Saturday 3pm live football blackout he’ll win by a landslide. Such a low hanging fruit, amazing nobody has grabbed it!

(Just popped in to contribute that. Bye!)

Johnson outperforms guesstimates. It's probably his, but you have to wonder if those not voting for him currently can be convinced otherwise? They may coalesce around another candidate less brash about hard brexit.
