Westminster Politics

If that was to ever happen, looking forward to them all being condemned by the press as traitors to democracy..

Why would Lib, SNP, Greens, Plaid voters come together to vote to remove Tories just to allow Labour to take power? The parties themselves might agree to some sort of pre-Electoral Deal, which more or less says "lend us your vote, trust us we are honest politicians", but would the electorate agree to (or should it be, fall for) that?

The Press will definitely use this line as well

LABOUR MP ‘MADE ACID THREAT AGAINST WOMAN’
27SEP2021

LEICESTER
A female Labour MP called a woman a ‘slag’ and made a threat against her involving acid, a court heard. Claudia Webbe, 56, allegedly became ‘obsessed’ with Michelle Merritt due to her friendship with the Leicester East MP’s partner Lester Thomas. Webbe also threatened to reveal naked photographs and videos she supposedly had of Ms Merritt to her family, Westminster Magistrates’ Court heard.

Whod have thought unhinged free markets where consumers actually have little choice, would lead to such rampant nonsense

A breach of good faith ffs  it’s called theft mate

The Tories, even though they have twelve men on the pitch and the ref is bent, continually leave an open goal. And if Labour don't fall on the ball, one of their team mates pushes them over.

Sir Keir Starmer is at war with Labour's left over demands for the party to back increasing the minimum wage to £15 an hour.

The Unite union is putting the motion calling for the minimum wage to increase to £15 to a vote on Tuesday.

Let's not hold the Tories to account for the mounting levels of shit they're producing, let's argue with one another!

If it's not Momentum causing drama and infighting it's the fecking unions - and I say that as a union member. They're like those twats you get at work training days who have to disrupt the host with their bullshit to show how "against the system" they are.

Our local Labour members facebook group is terrible for it. They want a very specific government and aren't willing to flex even if it means years more of Tory rule.

It's just so monumentally frustrating. You mean we can have power if we find a compromise for this one thing? No chance, burn it all down.

All good 'knockabout stuff' from Labour Conference.
We are too far away from the GE to be serious, especially with Boris having the 80+ majority.
Labour would do well to get all the blood-letting and the naff (Shit, scum, nasty people) speeches done with now and out of their system, the working people of this country cannot afford to have Labour b**ls it up again.

Angela Rayner can play the part of the Labour pit-bull attack dog, but Starmer has to be seen to have her firmly on the lead and to yank her back now and again... down girl, down! Angela in turn has to show her teeth/fierceness and willingness to go off on one, but only occasionally, loyalty from top to bottom is required from Labour.... its possible the last chance saloon looming at the next GE.

Strange take, how dare the unions push for increased wages at conference of a social democratic party!

I think Reyner misjudged it ... and this yougov poll seems to confirm that

Even amongst Labour voters it polls terribly - and it polls worse with all other groups

We can probably all sympathise with her views. But, despite all of the issues, many of the British public will be uncomfortable with her description. Me included.

Would love for someone to show me any evidence that proves Starmer is not a Tory plant.

All this 'scum' stuff is a complete own goal. The government is in disarray and the basic functioning of the country is wobbling - how about relentlessly calling out their competence rather than (lack of) morals? It's something almost everyone could get behind.

We have a PM who described Africans as piccaninnies with watermelon smiles, referred to Muslim women as letterboxes and many more - yet the MP who referred to him & those like him as scum, is the bad guy.

Unserious country.

It is perhaps her (mistaken) attempt to reconnect with red wall voters, but this is the last thing they want to hear.

Angela says its the sort of thing you hear in northern working class towns... yes Angela on a Friday night at closing time when two or three 'pi**ed a**ed' punters are being turfed out of the pub by the landlord and are still arguing about Politics, Religion and the local football teams chances this season, as they make their way home.

many of the British public will be uncomfortable with her description. Me included.

Yes, its old 'tap room' banter on friday nights...see above

I don't have anything wrong with the pushing, but I'm just worried that it's going to lead again to the party imploding because nobody can discuss these things without trying to kill one another.

Just put on BBC politics live to see what sort of fallout there is after the shambles of a week we’ve had.

“STATE OF STARMER’S LEADERSHIP” is the topic of conversation.

Richard Burgeon is currently answering questions from the host about “2017’s radical mandate” and why “activists in the party can’t let it go”

Normal country.

Needs a "it is not acceptable, unless referring to Tory scum" option

its actually +8 (according to youguv), in the middle of a fuel crisis shitstorm.

a house divided against itself cannot stand
there were major divides in the tories, with the ERG and the Brexit party, and yet they kept their eyes on winning the election and all those hard headed loons put their issues aside, abandoned the brexit party (lets not forget it was polling more than the libdems and greens put together) got behind Boris and smashed labour to pieces. As a consequence we have a bunch of lunatics running the asylum at the worst possible time.
