Stupid opinions. Wasn't it you that earlier tried arguing that Sneijder could definitely play as a CM for us because Paul Scholes had done so? I mean, Scholes has only played that role for the best part of his career, and in the Premiership, whereas Sneijder has never played in this league and usually has two or three midfielders sat behind him even in the Italian league.

I said Sneijder can play there if the Scholes of the last few seasons can, ie. the largely immobile Scholes who can't defend or get around like he could in his younger days. If you believe Sneijder can play in the PL, there is literally no reason to believe he can't do a very good job in CM. Course, now, I wouldn't go expecting you to elaborate on your post with actualy reason or thought-out opinions. That would be too much.

Waiting for someone to say Sneijder will never be as good as Scholes or something to that effect, which I've never said.

Have you seen Sneijder play? He's absolutely nothing like the Scholes of the last 4 seasons.

Ashley Young is actually overrated when it comes to set pieces - his free kick record last season was hardly spectacular. Sneijder on the other hand

I think we more concerned with the corner and indirect free kicks though. Nani and Giggs tended to bang it into the first defender all the time.

rio is on twitter we should bombard him with tweets asking why this deal has not been done yet

What, like your thought out, elaborate post that you wrote in reply to me in the boxing thread. If I remember right, you told me that I was wrong and that was it

Anyway, we have no way of saying for sure that Sneijder can play in the middle for us. It doesn't matter who his partner is, he would have to put in a shift going both ways, which is something he is usually reluctant to do. Hence the heavy protection sat behind him at Inter.

He could surprise us all and slot right in, or we may have to completely restructure our team in order to fit him in. Scholes got away with a lack of pace/mobility for a while simply because he was so clever. He always knew where everyone was around him and barely got caught in possession. He also had the ability to find space in a hectic midfield. There are many reasons why Scholes was so much better than your average midfielder and this is why Fergie said we won't find another like him right now. Sneijder would come in with a lot of question marks over him, no matter how good people think he is.

Nah, not at all - buyin all three would just be greedy..

You know what I meant.

I just don't cream myself whenever we're linked to some big-name player...I get more of a kick out younger players coming through like Welbeck, Cleverley and hopefully Morrison or Pogba.

This will he/won't he transfer rumour bullshit gets tedious very fecking quickly.

Inter Milan insist Wesley Sneijder is not for sale after a meeting between the club and player. #MUFC

He's coming. I can feel it!

Tbh they're not gonna say that we're gonna sell our best player.

Lets buy all three of them...feck it. I'm fed up. If it's going to take this long, let's just sign all 3 mofos

Exactly. We were never going to sell Ronaldo either.

at what point do they accept our offer? I reckon everyones posting old news and it's confusing the whole situation

I'm the same, especially with this current crop of youngsters that we've got. I've convinced myself that they're going to do the business for us soon enough.

My understanding is Inter rejected the bid for Sneijder from #MUFC

Isn't this guy relatively trustworthy? Or was that someone else?

I ll try to translate the underlined text quoted from branca's interview:

"Should I say that Sneijder is definitely not for sale - Yes I ll say it"

"Till now we did not receive any offers for him and we have no intention of doing so"
