Wesley Sneijder

He wasn't last season, he wasn't in his second season at Madrid, he wasn't in his second last season at Ajax...that's 3 of the last 5. And in his first season at Madrid he really wasn't fantastic, not any better than Nasri last season, had a fantastic start with 5 goals in his first four games but was inconsistent thereafter, that said he was mainly out wide which is hardly his best position.

He's an excellent player but I think some people have gotten carried away after his brilliant form in 09/10.

No good at maths?

if we sign this fecker then i am going to have the biggest wank on the planet

So I would suggest that you avoid watching Sneijder clips on youtube...if you dont want a premature ejaculation...

The only info I have on Sneijder has been tweeted - the stuff that said #MUFC made enquiries last summer but were put off by asking price. Surprised, a year on, that same asking price is now being seen as not too prohibitive by #MUFC. Sneijder (he's quite volatile) had disagreements with Inter this season as well.

ekshm inflated market (aka Liverpool pay 35 mil for Andy Carrol) and a real necessity of signing a midfielder help to explain this oddity?

Shit, I really hope we don't get him. He's not that good, and he's not a spring chicken either.

Yeah, he's a rubbish pensioner with no hair. We should have chased Liverpool's targets, like Henderson, Charlie Chalk, Downing and John Barnes.

Sneijder in training today. He's definitely looking towards Manchester.

Vs a year older and coming off a fairly poor season

He missed a lot of the season with serious illness but when he came back he was very good in most of the games that I saw.

Plus he was playing under a new coach and in a new system so it obviously takes time.

I'm so relieved. I didn't want to be the one to say it

I find it hard to believe that Malaga are interested in him, they don't really have THAT much money to spend and I doubt they would waste their time trying to convince him to join their little project when he could virtually fit into any team in the world.

They don't?

Since Sheikh Abdullah Al Thani bought them they are in man City's financial league.

Argh, seems like I was misinformed, I thought they were bought by some Arabian consortium that wanted to invest but not very heavily, hence they've mostly made low fee signings. They've spend something like £20m - £30m in fees so far since takeover but their wage bill must have gone through the roof with the names they got.

Still, why would they all of a sudden spend £35m on Sneijder when so far they've only got players for sub £5m?

I doubt someone like Sneijder would go to a club which finished 11th last year, has no European football and, quite simply, is not high-profile enough for a 'name' like him.

Journo here in Germany (pretty reliable really) thinks that we have a top, top chance to sign Sneijder this summer. United are said to be more confident than ever before to land the Dutchman.

Only problem, which is there to see, are his wages. Sneijder demanding around 14m Euros a year.

It's only the Mirror, I know, but:
Inter Milan’s board will meet on Tuesday to sanction the sale of Wesley Sneijder to Manchester United.

And Inter boss Gian Piero Gasperini said: “I try not to be worried about Sneijder.

“He is one of the best players in Europe. But I am convinced we can find a new player when he goes.”

What's the consensus then? Will there be a new Wesley on the books next term?

I pray Sneijder doesn't come to United. He is a very good footballer I admit, but I definitely agree with Gary Neville: it's typical United to groom young players (hungry for football success and trophies) and turn them into world class players, not signing experienced players who have won everything and might get distracted by off field activities (it seems Sneijder's already distracted: he frequently attends parties, film premieres etc. together with his attention seeking wife, I despise her).

Also it irks me to see Sneijder becoming one of our club's top earners on arrival. He will earn like what? 200k+ a week? Let's see him contributing to the club first.

Personally, I think it's irresponsible of the club to throw in millions to sign him. Fees between 35-50m pounds are just mind-boggling. We're a club in debt, we don't need another overpaid player.

Sneijder dominates Dutch press this morning: United meet Inter in next 48 hours to determine release fee from remaining 4 year contract

Gibson > Sneijder then

He won it all and he is getting distracted by off field activities. Erm does that reminds you of someone?

Yeah, Sneijder.

And?

He's currently in worse shit then Sneijder ever was. Comeon you can do it!

On a serious note. Sneijder has always proved a pro both on and off the pitch. His reluctance to accept a salary cut to move to Inter is the only thing one can criticize him on. However, you can't really blame him for not accepting that with a smile on his face can't you? Who love to take salary cuts? I don't

MANCHESTER - Manchester United makes every effort to Wesley Sneijder (27) before the start of the English season to get away from Internazionale. This will require a bid of 35 million euros are needed, does the champion of the Premier League and Champions League finalist. In the past 24 hours behind the scenes big steps to put the complicated one million transfer on track.

Wesley Sneijder is of great value to Internazionale.
Manager Alex Ferguson was initially deployed in Samir Nasri of Arsenal, but who chooses a transfer to Manchester City. Ferguson and his Dutch assistant Rene Meulensteen Sneijder see in the ideal successor to Paul Scholes stopped this summer.

According to well-informed sources in the government of Italy wants to Internazionale in the next 48 hours on the issue Sneijder meet and establish a ransom for his ongoing contract is four years.
Inter coach Gian Piero Gasperini, already appears to capitulate. Although he prefers Sneijder on board would keep the coach with the Argentinian midfielder Ricky Alvarez (Velez Sarsfield) for twelve million euros already brought in a replacement.

Is it safe to get your cocks out?

Why is your cock in in the midst of one of the busiest transfer windows United have had in recent years? Hang your head in shame.

Not many jobs work like that. Especially football. He is one of the best midfielders in the world. It is only correct that he be on top wages.

I will be shocked though if we do get him. He may be the biggest name we have ever signed if you think about it.

Before this it would have been Veron.
