Wesley Sneijder

I can understand people criticizing the deal because of Sneijder age (at 27 yrs of age he's hardly old but he's not young), his alleged inability to play in a 4-4-2 system or his alleged medical track record. However I can't really agree with those who criticize him because of his salary. Sneijder is a proven world class player. He deserves to be paid at par to players of his own level.

I have mixed feelings about this deal especially if SAF will insist on the 4-4-2 system. However with so many young kids coming through in midfield, you can't really have a better mentor to them then Sneijder on his prime.

There's a lot of talk about his age but at 27 I think he's exactly at the right age. Our midfield needs quality and experience and Sneijder's got both in abundance.

I do have reservations about him in a 4-4-2 but feck it, lets just buy him, it's Wesley Sneijder ffs!

I really dont understand this age thing. 27 is rather young and its not that he has only 2 years left. Yes, everyone wants a young 21 talent, but we need instant quality now and with so many young talents coming through in the next 3-4 years, it might be good to have someone who wont stay another 7 years. That said, I still dont know if he is the right one for us - we shall see

Wesley Sneijder would be a very good coup. He's a fantastic football up there with the better ones in world football and at the right age.

Sure, he's a risk in a sense that he's coming to a new league at 27 but I think he's got the quality and ability to succeed. The ideal Paul Scholes replacement for me.

Although I am not his biggest fan, we shouldnt forget that he was key to Inter winning the treble and to lead the Netherlands to the final. He probably would have deserved the Ballon d'Or that year

If we couldn't pay sneijder wages then we wouldn't have bid or enquired for him in the first place. We knew from the beginning what he earns,so these reports that the wages is holding up the move is just nonsense..

At the moment sneijder deal look the more likely than Nasri or Modric with spurs and arsenal unwilling to sell.

Perhaps he wants a pay rise to join United? Certainly not beyond the realms of possibility.

So apparently we have bid and discussions are under way? Feck me. I know I said we would be put off by his transfer fee - let alone his wage demands - but if we could not afford his wages we wouldn't bid in the first place. Which makes this rebuilding phase pretty exciting and surely it will put a sock in the gob of one or two out there.

feckin hell let it happen

4-5-1 looks even better imo with Carrick, Anderson just behind Sneijder and Rooney up front. (and Chicharito coming off the bench when necessary).

Agreed.

Van der Sar, Scholes, Hargreaves, Neville, O'Shea and Brown are off our wage bill now as well, I think we can quite easily afford Sneijder (if we want to). Question is do we need to break our wage structure or and will it cause trouble if we pay him as good wages as Rooney?
I admit I'm not too sure about this signing. Cracking player, would improve us considerably, but the money involved is crazy. Still if we can afford it, sign him up I'd say. Sneijder, Carrick, Fletcher, Anderson, Giggs, Nani, Valencia, Young, Park... those are some midfield options!

Again the money is getting questioned. Put it into perspective. If these reports are true we will get Sneijder for £30M. Liverpool paid £35M for Andy Carroll

But it matters not. I very much doubt if the money wasnt there that the Glazers would sanction this.

Inter Milan midfield ace Wesley Sneijder wants a move to Manchester United.

Sneijder is the subject of intense interest from United and Spain's Malaga this week, with Inter's board due to meet to make a final decision on the midfielder's future.

Sky Italia says Sneijder will not consider moving to Malaga with the club still in transition and instead is waiting to hear from United.

Inter are expected to sell the midfield ace for between £30-35 million.

I think the fee being reported is at the moment is very low considering the player and his ability. It's almost a bargain, which sounds wrong when you're quoting fee's of £30m - £35m!

I don't think anyone is questioning if we can afford the fee, it's his wages that is the concern at the moment.

Sneijder in training today. He's definitely looking towards Manchester.

look!!!!! a red shirt!!!!

we will sign him today

Is it safe to get your cocks out?

its never safe really

Why is your cock in in the midst of one of the busiest transfer windows United have had in recent years? Hang your head in shame.

the jizz could be flying everywhere this week

I think I'd shit myself with excitement if we signed him.

scat fetish

as a side note i have the tissues ready and as its a special occasion i am treating myself with some lube for extra satisfaction, have we signed him yet??

i just hope if we are going to sign sneidjer, nani is not going to be part of the deal..

everything would be perfect then.

I get the feeling Sneijder is on his way.

Gut feeling. Later this week. Brap.

Do you want me to say yes just so you can get started?

NO!! things like this are sacred, last time i got involved in some good transfer wankathon muppetry was when we signed berbatov

I get the feeling Sneijder is on his way.

feck that i have it on good authority he just checked onto an easyjet flight headed for manchester

Nani is not going anywhere. It's just an irrational fear.

You think Valencia is guaranteed a spot on the right and Nani and Young are competing with each other on the left?

I'm still not sure I actually want this but if it's still between the 3 of them then I guess Sneijder looks like the only viable option now. I think I'd prefer 2 young players instead though.

Berb was 27 too. SAF will buy older players if he needs to when he wants an instant impact from them. He's clearly buying for the future for when (god forbid) he leaves but I'm sure he'll want a player that will boost his team right now too.

When will the Sneijder 7 jerseys be available? Spearing gave his 26 jersey to Adam, can't Owen do the same for Wesley?

I'm not at all tbh.
But posting every possible line-up would have taken way too long.
All 3 of them will be competing for a spot on the wing. Nani with Valencia on the right side and Nani with Young on the left side.

Also Evra won't be a guaranteed starter imo. If he can't get back into his old form one of the twins will have a word to say.

Exciting times ahead and when Sneijder arrives we will have a great CM as well.
