Wesley Sneijder

The funny thing is, a couple of ambiguous quotes from the player aside, there has actually been no foundation to any of the rumours that he could leave inter let alone come to us. As has been said by Neville I think, the only people that know anything about the transfers are those that are involved in the deals and there is no way any of those would leak anything as it puts unwanted pressure on the deal.

To much talk about big money signings now, so I'm expecting us to sign a complete unknown anyday now.

If it's true we're his dream club get fecking in.

We aren't.. Real Madrid are.. But now that he has realised what a dog shit circus they are I suppose his second choice is Manchester United..

So that Ashley Young account is a fake, confirmed by Rio.

Patrick Barclay on talksport said that there is some holdup due to Wages, but still expects us to sign Sneijder.

Barclay huh? He's a massive ABU but a respected journalist in the business.

Don't know what to think.

"Time for clutching of mine cock to commence." - Iago, Othello.

Who's Patrick Barclay? And wages holdup? So a fee between the 2 clubs has been agreed?

Some sorts of various crappy sources have said a fee between 35-40 million has been agreed.

Patrick Barclay is a times journalist (there sports writer of the year IIRC) also appears on Sunday Supplement on Sky + Talksport.

Bit of an ABU cnut though.

Barclay's a massive ABU? I didn't think so because he recently wrote a very positive biography of Sir Alex, didn't come across as ABU.

Am I the only one who's not completely convinced by Sneijder? I'd much rather we get Nasri...

He is being very complimentary towards us right now saying that we've been very smart in the transfer market these season, a 35mil for Sneijder is a bargain compared to the Henderson price.

I am not eager for us to sign Sneijder, and I dont know why... I need some muppet injections

He comes across as right ABU, don't you remember the Rooney sweargate? Barclay was one of those who perpetuated long harsh bans for the lad.

One of the other jounro's took him to town on the TV show 'Sunday Supplement' for it.

Euros or sterlings?

Anyways I don't know if Talksport is reliable or not, but the fact is there has been four or five different reporters on Talksport since yesterday and they've all said that we're gonna sign Sneijder.

Yeah Sneijder is just shite. He's just not a player who can be an integral part of a Treble winning team.

He's an utter moron, one with an anti-Fergie agenda.

Yeah but we've had various reporter on talksport saying we were going to sign Torres, Modric, Sanchez etc.

Where on earth are you sitting and watching Talksport?!

There were also 4 or 5 reporters saying we will sign Sanchez in the next 24 hours after the day Gill was spotted in Barcelona

You mean when they saw that photo on the caf...

Funny how the emphasis has switched from Nasri to Sneijder.

I was getting bored with the Nasri saga and so were the press. Was listening to Talkshite transfer bar last night & all the talk was of Sneijder to United.
Gone from Modric which fell flat with Levy's statement, to Nasri which went flat when they found out he was going on the pre-season tour with Arsenal, to Sneijder now. If that falls flat the press are in a bit of mess unless they can find someone else who plays in midfield to link us with.

Yeah Sneijder is just shite. He's just not a player who can be an integral part of a Treble winning team.

He is not completely wrong. There are a few questions marks about Sneijder, maybe less about his quality, but his fit into the team, price and age

He's 27, he's the best midfielder in the world outside of Xavi and Iniesta (in fairness, quality wise he's on a par imo, just hasn't the fitness of either.) and his price is a bargain compared to recent transfer around the world; 35 million for Andy Carroll < 35 million for Wesley Sneijder.

What's your feeling on Sneijder and us buying him Spoony - for or against
likely - unlikely? etc.

He's my choice midfielder, as for us buying him...I dunno, it's either him or Nasri, I'd be surprised if we're willing to pay Sneijder's wages, but if the Dutchie's willing to compromise, I see no reason why he wouldn't be our player cum beginning of the new season. Funnily enough, a few weeks ago, a journo on 5 Live said Sneijder'd be a United player, this when we were supposed to have been buying Sanchez. Again, you should take everything with a pinch of salt unless there are some quotes(credible ones would be nice)....and even those can be fabricated eg Kaka to United.

Then why did he write a very complimentary biography on him?

If you ever listen to The Game Podcast it's eminently clear that he's not a big fan of Ferguson or Manchester United. Ferguson was unhappy about that biography and I think words must have been said between them, because Barclay's attitude to United has taken a sharp turn for the worst since that book was released.
