Wesley Sneijder

Getting both would be absolutely massive for us, it'd necessitate a change to 4-3-3 and probably end Chicharito's chances of starting a lot for us but we'd be vastly improved as a team. A midfield 3 of Carrick Nasri and Sneijder would be the dogs bollocks, we certainly wouldn't see it dominated by the likes of Aston Villa in the League, and with Rooney dropping back as a false 9 I would expect us to give anyone in Europe a run for their money.

Kind of agree - kind of disagree. Think we need to stop thinking about a 1st 11 and 2nd 11. These 2 would give us tremendous options.

Central midfield squad of Carrick, Nasri, Fletcher, Schneider, Young, Anderson, Park, Cleverley (with Pogba and perhaps Morrison to come in future years)

Gives tremendous options - of those Nasri, Young, Park can kind of play as wingers so in terms of interchanging postions we could make our Central Midfield very difficult to pick up!

If we signed the two of them I'd be very very surprised if we didn't alter our usual formation to accommodate both of them at once.

No it won't because we wont sign either one of them.

I really hope we sign Wesley cause i have the impression he is a united player. Someone high talented but right down to earth too. Normally i would say sign noone and go with the youth but he seems to be the one for me. Cant wait for the football to kick in again. The off season is quite disturbing for me as it only counts who signs for anyone. Its far more important how a team is performing. That will be seen again when the ball is kicked again.

Bit harsh considering our midfield out-performed Chelsea's (Who supposedly have the best in the league) each time we played them last season.

He adores attention and show business, has big ego, his wife Yolanthe is an attention whore and money grabber. He has already won the biggest price in club football: the Champions League.

So yeah, I question his hunger for future success and I don't like his public image.

Their midfield isn't the best in the league though and with Essien not being as good after his injuries, Lampard on the decline etc theirs isn't too impressive at the moment.

I think your tune will change very quickly if he comes here such is his quality!

All true, but

A) for these exact reasons i can't see him joining Malaga, he would like the money for sure, but i guess he wouldnt want to have to explain why at the prime of his career he goes to such a small club... (If he was 33, it would have been a different story...). Furthermore, as it appears that City and Chelsea are not in the run for him anymore, i think there's a good chance he'll sign for us...

B) SAF is SAF. He'll sort him out eventually. If Sneijder do comes here, he'll realize soon enough what kind of special club he is at, and will drop the antics with the help of one or two SAF hairdryer treatments...

Exactly what has he shown on the pitch that suggests he is less than 100% committed to being a great footballer.

He earns shit loads of money, why can't he be a bit flash? It doesn't mean he's forgotten why he earns that money.

If, as you say, he has a massive ego then surely coming the a new league and playing for Manchester United will only freshen his desire to prove to a whole new bunch of supporters that he is a world class player. A player with a big ego would not settle for anything less than being one of the best players in that league.

Inter boss Gasperini (according to the Mirror) speaking of Sneijder's departure in terms of "When, not if". Interesting.

:D

Ashely Young just tweeted about Sneijder "it looking like Sneijder will come to United" but then deleted it half hour later

Looks like sneijder might me on us way! Fantastic player!

Don't know if it's a real account or not although if it was a fake why would he delete the Sneijder tweet?

Must be a direct order from Fergie. It's happening then

Because he thought he was the big signing and is now pissed off.

Hand in your transfer muppet badge, you are not worthy.

No he has just discovered him, he needs half an hour to watch some vids and declare him the player we must have, and claim him to play in aposition that one of our regulars take up, before we consider removal of his muppet badge.

Sorry to burst a bubble but Ashley Young's official twitter is ashley_young26 not ashley_young18.

The players are allegedly never told about new players, so Young is probably just a bit of a transfer muppt and read the articles from last night about us getting Sneijder. If the account is real.

That being said, I still reckon we're going to get Sneijder. I just hope he doesn't flop.

Right so it took him 30 mins to figure out that Sneijder would actually be a bigger signing than him

No, he still hasn't accepted it, then he saw the figures being bandied around.

Haven't a clue if this is true. I tend to be as suspicious when an English paper is the one who gets to quote a coach of an Italian club just as I am when something like Sky Italia reports City have agreed terms with Nasri.

One thing I will say, however, is whether we have targetted Sneijder or Nasri or whoever, this is a key signing and one we should push the envelope for financially.

So is it official yet?

Or are we waiting to do a double announcement with Nasri? (in the same manner as when Nani and Anderson were announced)
