Wesley Sneijder

Inter decline was caused by a number of factors

a) they weren't the best team in the first place. Inter win against Barca was down to Mourinho's tactical brilliance and luck

b) the team was old in the first place. Players like Materazzi and Zanetti needed quality cover/replacement which Moratti failed to sign

c) Injuries which swept the team like plague.

d) Poor choice of coaches. Leonardo and Benitez brought a knock out effect to the team and contributed only in creating havoc in the team and lower the team moral

e) Once Inter won the CL (the owner's target in the first place) Moratti stopped investing in the team and changed his aim to a financial book balancing strategy.

Well said! I didn't say Sneijder was behind their decline, I'm saying all those points were why Inter won the treble in 2010, NOT Sneijder alone.. Thank you, that's my point.

And for the rest, were you even watching football in 2010 when Inter won the treble?? Nobody then singled Sneijder out as the "reason" behind their success. It was a team victory and if it was to be credited to one man, then it was definitely Mourinho's victory.. For God's sake Sneijder didn't even make the top 3 nominees for best player in the world that season! But now there is a chance he may join United, suddenly FM addicts think he is the best player in the world! Pathetic.

Besides, with your ridiculous "logic", Kaka was behind Milan's success in 2007 (REALLY behind their success, not Sneijder's way).. I think we all saw how that turned out for Real Madrid, didn't we?? C**ks in will ya?

Glad SAF is not as mad as most people here, and won't splash crazy money on him like most of you would do..

Who said they won the treble because of Sneijder alone?

Oh no! Didn't make the top 3 nominations for best player in the world??? He must suck!

I have read some stupid shit in this thread but you are taking it to a whole new level.

United won the treble in 1999, Ginola won POTY, so fecking what?

Scott Parker won POTY last year? and Gareth Bale

Grow up drama queen, no one has called him the BPITW, but only an idiot would deny that he's one of the World's best players whether he comes here or not.

He's been injured for most of his time there ffs.

Glad SAF is not as mad as most people here, and won't splash crazy money on him like most of you would do..

And you know this how?

Bloody hell, what a complete drama queen we have here!

EDIT: feck, Lance beat me to a chief style multi-quoting

.

I know, just look at how Ronaldo ended up turni.... oh wait.

Well at least he's a POTY winner. Not that I agree with that. But fecking hell, Barton can walk into our midfield and Sneijder cant? Christ alive.

Exactly. Scott Parker POTY. Was Sneijder even nominated for Italian POTY last season?

I rest my case. Oh sorry, I mean, case closed.

Has anyone ever said that Sneijder cant walk? can you quote it please? This kind of making stuff up is mad. :wenger:

Its been said that we don't need him.

I know they're different types of player but if our midfield is such that it doesn't need Sneijder, who are we talking about dropping so that Barton can walk into it?

Right, let me get this straight, with the arguable exclusion of Barca's midfield, which top club's midfield wont benefit with the presence of Sneijder? None, imo.
That includes us as well. If Barton can 'walk' into our midfield and improve it, surely Sneijder can as well?

Mind you, I personally would have been more in favor of a deep lying playmaker, but that doesn't mean Sneijder isnt a world class player and wont improve our midfield. In fact, for all we know he might do just as well in that role too.

Dude in this discussion Danny stand is - "Sneijder would be terrific signing that would improve United team accordingly, but he aint must buy at any price because we already have the team capable of achieving our goals"

Now how could you managed to twist that to - "barton can walk into the United midfield and sneijder aint good enough"

I have no idea.

I'm not twisting anything.
Based on last season's performances alone, Barton would walk into the United midfield.

We dont even need him right now IMO. (Sneijder)

If our midfield is such that a player like Barton walks into it we most certainly do need Sneijder.... (not that I think he's walk into our squad, nevermind our team)

I dont think he's must buy either, he'll certainly add to the first team.... I just find the vast swing in opinion a bit funny.

Corriere dello Sport again claiming that Nike will help United re: Sneijder's wages.

Those 2 guys are deluded. what can i say. Maybe they support liverpool in their heart.

Anything is possible when your man smells like Old Spice and not a lady.

I'm on a horse.

There's a point, let's send Terry Crews to David Gills office with some old spice, Sneijder will be over here in a flash.

We scored the most in the league, and conceeded less than a goal a game. We were't short on either creativity or defensive duties.

There were a lot of games where Carrick and Fletcher were our midfield pairing where we were absolutely dreadful creatively, that's why we got our lowest points total for over 5 years.

You mean the opinions he is taking the piss out of? the whole Joey Barton > Sneijder thing? You don't actually think Eyepopper's post is ridiculous

Sorry i had just woken up;) i totally agree with eyepopper. Anyone that thinks thinks barton would improve our midfield more than sneijder is mental, hope thats a little more clear

Don't remind me of the Fletch/Carrick partnership from last season, it gives me nightmares and makes me feel like I might kill someone if we don't sign Sneijder.... but then I'm reminded of this..

but you see mate . Eyepopper quotes 2 different persons. I bet the guy that said that Barton would walk into midfield is desperate for sneijder and the kid who said no to sneijder would probably say no to barton too.
