"Ik weet niet of ik Engeland na woensdag gelijk weer verlaat"

What does that exactly mean? A quote from his interview. Sounds like "I don't know if I will leave England after Wednesday"

Sounds to me like he's quite happy to stay at Inter but won't protest if he's sold to a club he wouldn't mind joining. He's been through this before, when Real dumped him.

He's got to keep both sides happy though. If a deal was the break down & he'd criticized / said he wants to leave Inter, then relations with the club wouldn't be very great if he had to stay.

I used Google translate and this is what it came up with:

"I'm not sure I like England after leaving Wednesday". It certainly does not make sense.

'I do not know or I England after Wednesday resemble again overflow'

So, after Wednesday, Wesley is going to do impressions of a sink full of water.

I think it means, he doesnt know whether he is immediatly travelling home again after his match on wednesday.
Maybe talks will be held after the game hehe

Even Sneijder has admitted there are talks now so it's pretty obvious something's happening. I firmly believe we'll be signing him.

What a little tease he is! C'mon, Wesley, join us - I've already made a Sneijder statue out of an old balloon and some Monster Munch packets.

Why was it ever in?

It didnt like all that talk about City, staying at Inter, Fergie and Sneijder both denying any contact... But right now it's back in the fresh air. (Well tbh it is since our second goal yesterday, but this interview is a reason to keep it out)

Interviewer: 'I there any consultation planned in England?' Sneijder: 'Uhhh, I don't know'.

He's asked if he wants to leave and says 'don't know and then asked if he wants to join Manchester and hesitantly says "yeeaaah"

Reading that again, it just warms the heart of every muppet out there.

Where are our resident Dutchmen? We need a second opinion on this translation, I think we could have more if we put a sufficiently motivated muppet up to the translating.

Newbies?

Post a pic then...:)

I admit it needs a little work

I have dutch mates on MSN...I'll get back to you.

Send me a PM when something interesting happens in this thread again, ok? Thanks. ;)

Part translation from somewhere on Twitter :

Sorry had to listen to the last part over and over again. His exact words are: "Well, I'm going away after the game. At least, if I get the permission of our coach. I have to go back (to Holland)." I've never transcribed Dutch to English before. I tried to sum it up as him not sure about leaving England, instead he says he's not going away after the game - I'm guessing, staying in England?

Basically he is hinting that he will remain longer in England than his national team teammates, presumably to have "official" talks with United.

This effort from Mokum Red in the newbies:

Sneijder: From that point of view, the situation has changed a little. Because I don’t know what will happen. Right now, I’m an Inter player. It is very likely I will be just that on the 31st of august. Still, the chance I will leave exists as well.

Journo: By your own initiative?

Sneijder: Not really by my own initiative, this has more to do with the club. I think the club has been very clear in this. In case they receive a good offer, then they will have to let me go. They don’t want to lose me, but yeah…the chance exists they will let me go in that case.

Journo: [inaudible] …But do you want to?

Sneijder: Well…I don’t know. Right now, I’m an Inter player, there’s a big chance I’ll be just that on the 31st of august. And if something crosses my path, I’ll have plenty of time to think about it. To judge it, to make a decision.

Journo: Between you and me…If ‘Manchester’ [he means United] enquires and they want you, then ofcourse you’d say yes immediatly, right?

Sneijder: Well Manchester hasn’t officially enquired.

Journo: What about ‘unofficially’?

Sneijder: Maybe…

Journo: Is there any contact? Of course there’s contact…

Sneijder: There are always contacts. *grins* I’m in contact with everybody, you know that, right? But seriously, nothing is going on right now. I’m here now, feeling good, a bit later I’m going to go inside and I’ll see all the guys, I haven’t seen them in a while. I’m focussing on that right now. Nothing besides that. Again: Inter player. And right now the Dutch team.

Journo: Yeah, you and the Dutch team are travelling to England together. Will you travel back with them as well?

Sneijder: You mean back to Holland?

Journo: Yes, or are certain talks planned?

Sneijder: I don’t know…I mean…

Journo: Say no more. I know what’s going on.

[All kind of grinning]

Sneijder: No, I’m leaving afther the match. If the coach gives me permission.

Good work indeed. Just don't get what he means with he will leave when the coach gives him the permission... Stay in England? Or go back to Holland?

Just heard on SSN a reporter in Holland saying that she tried to speak to Sneijder but he wouldn't saying 'I am not speaking to English press until after the match because they only ask me about Manchester United. I will talk to them after the game.'

So she spoke to Van Der Vaart instead as they are really good mates and talk every day and asked if he wanted to play in England and he replied 'Of course, he wants to play in England, it's the best league in the world, he wants to play in the Premier League.' She then asked if he thought he would be playing against Sneijder next year and his reply was 'I hope not, Manchester United would be very strong.'
