Unless he only cares about his salary then I don't see Sneijder joining City over United if our interest is genuine.

It could be Robinho all over again though, he definitely isn't happy at Inter and if City are the only team who put up the cash and wages...

Agreed, if City is the only club after him then he'll join them. However, if we go after him as well then I think he'll push for a move to United (like Sanchez wanted Barca).

Opened the thread for the first time today, I see 2-3 pages... My first thought was that there is some movement to find out that it had turned into matchday forum of Milan vs Inter... This thread was better closed for the weekdays.:wenger:

Manchester City reject reports that £31.4 million deal for Inter Milan's Wesley Sneijder has been agreed

According to La Gazetta dello Sport, the Holland international will sign a £5m-a-year contract and make his final appearance for the Serie A club in the Super Cup.

The signing of Sneijder would certainly be a major coup for City, as United have been linked with him for months now as they seek a replacement for Bebé. However, City have been quick to play down any such deal.

"It's a load of bollocks," said temporary manager Roberto Millions, "We won't even look at a player unless he costs over eleventy-billion quid."

Meanwhile, United coach Emperor Sir Alex Legend raised hopes of a transfer muppet resurrection: "I just hope it's not too late to bring wr8, gambit and SteveJ back to life; even as we speak, they're getting mouth-to-mouth from MUTV's Mandy Eye-Shadow and Lou Macari."

Twitter:
Sneijder said to be angry at Gasperini over failed Inter tactics and the loss today . Fuels the stories of them not seeing eye to eye.

According to the Italian media he was pissed off because of one of the referee's mistakes. On the other hand Gasperini's tactics in the second half backfired badly.

Wasn't Motta the one extremely pissed off with the ref? He was on the receiving end of a couple of bad tackles.

Also rumors that Zanetti has said that this is Sneijder's last game. Unconfirmed though.

Sounds like a big prima donna. He didn't even bother to go up and collect his losers medal? This is disrespect to Inter and his team-mates. He can stay away from United as far as possible

in before someone mentions Ronaldo. And no, Ronaldo won't do such a thing

Tell you what, if City sign him I'm deleting this thread!

The Italian media didn't shown anything but they said that at the end of the game Sneijder was pissed of because of one of the refs mistakes which according to him may have cost them the game. Im repeating exactly what they said.

Its still premature to say but Gasperini's new system seems to suck badly. Who play with a 3 men defense nowadays? We're talking about a big CL side not Salernitana.

You know your still shite when the only thing you can get over your nearest 'rivals' is a transfer, which hasn't even transpired yet, so quote this one feckwits.

35 years, 500 million, one cup. (Which United have won a record amount of times)

Empty stadiums on their US tour, feck all for their parade, calling their reserves the "Elite squad"

According to Sky Sports, a 'senior official' at City has now claimed that there is "nothing" to the story (Sneijder to City), but, as their interest in Samir Nasri has already revealed, it is an open secret that City are in the market for an attacking midfielder. Indeed, it's only because of the widespread belief that Sneijder would be moving to Old Trafford that the Inter playmaker has not been mentioned as a possible target for Roberto Mancini, but were City to lure Sneijder to Eastlands from under the noses of their neighbours then it would unquestionably rank as the coup of the close season.

Titanic?

Here's the free-kick Sneijder converted today, for anyone who hasn't seen it:

Wait, so now people are already getting angry and treating him like a spurned lover/Rooney/Ronaldo-alike?.. On the back of one, already denied story of him going to City, which you've convinced yourselves is true, or certainly more true than the other 15 "He's definitely coming to us" stories to have been printed in the last 3 weeks, all of which you've also convinced yourselves are true... and all for a player who we're not even sure we're in for, and hasn't implied in anyway he was coming here, or indeed spoken on the matter at all and that our manager has denied as paper talk...

You do realise you're really only getting angry at yourselves right?
