Wesley Sneijder

I absolutely love signing a new player and watching them play, however it's the endless speculation and bullshit rumours which aren't entertaining at all. As evidenced by this thread they don't seem to be that entertaining if it backfires and he goes somewhere else. Every season we see the new Benzema/Ozil/Ballack go somewhere else, and every year people are disgusted by our transfer signings. Yet we always go out and prove them wrong.

Don't bother with such threads.

Simples

Boateng 2-1 after great work by Pato!

PS: Sorry for making this a match thread. Time to go back to the Friendlies thread.

We can talk about Sniejder though?

His performance hasn't been great, but then again Inter seem a bit discombopulated in terms of teamwork/chemistry which isn't helping his cause.

..or maybe his lack of commitment is a cause of that..

the truth is out there.

He was doing well at the start of the game, at the centre of everything created by Inter and moving the ball around superbly.

As the half progressed Inter started to fade and he really didn't get much of the ball, and the second half has been fecking atrocious for Inter.

Gattuso should really have been sent off but that isn't any excuse for them falling apart like they have.

Today is a good day to be born.

It is really though, as he scores more than any other player we have taking them, he can clear the first man unlike Nani, he can send in a decent corner unlike Nani, when I said we miss someone who can take free kicks I should have been clearer but I meant set pieces. Also every free kick doesn't have to result in a goal, crosses etc. It would just be relieving to see someone who can either clear the wall when it comes to a FK or clear the first man when it comes to a corner.

The added bonus is that he scores from his free kicks as well as scoring the same amount of total goals than Anderson/Carrick/Fletcher put together in a year considered to be an 'off' year.

Anyway opinions are subjective so we can always agree to disagree.

Yeah our corners are frustrating at times, but I've thought for a while now that it's something they've done in training. Hit ball to front post, flick on by our player with our big guys attacking it further in. It doesn't work though!

I'm interested to see how Ashley Young does in this aspect personally. His corners have been brilliant this preseason and I'm sure he took some freekicks for Villa. Having said that, Rooney looked dangerous from freekicks towards the end of last season.

Idiots change the stream before I can see Sneijder's post match reaction

I don't think I saw Sneijder go up to collect his medal, then again my stream kept buffering so I may have missed it.

Just saw all the Inter players come up to collect their losers medals and I'm pretty sure I didn't see Sneijder there.

he turned away from the camera, he was clearly looking over in the general direction towards manchester, its a sign! welcome wesley!!

Wesley Sneijder is very angry at the final whistle. Maybe off the field issues getting to him? #supercup #mancity

Mine was buffering but they kept focusing on the crowd but I'm sure pretty sure I didn't see Sneijder and I was looking very closely at the Inter players

Twitter:
Sneijder said to be angry at Gasperini over failed Inter tactics and the loss today . Fuels the stories of them not seeing eye to eye.

"#mancity" ?

Why in the name of christ is their name more prominent in this saga than ours?

Oh, Wesley, give up the pretence and just beg for a move. We know you want to.

We want to see you grovelling in front of us, down on your knees in the dust, begging for our acceptance. And you want that, too.

They run after anyone we're linked with. Nasri, Sneijder, Erikson...

Aye... if they signed Wesley I have no fecking clue where they would play him.

This transfersaga blows!! City is like the little stupid brother who would be a lowlife for the rest of his life, but won the lotto. Its not that I would like us to be in their financial situation, for me its just cheating, but their attitude is pissing me off!!

I don't think City are genuinely after him though, mind you I'm not too sure if we even are.

In front of Yaya Touré and De Jong?

Silva is doing a great job, and half the time he deploys Touré in that position.
