Wesley Sneijder

Duncan Castles has however questioned the validity of the City Sneijder link.

I think this latest news will be regarding our interest or Sneijder making a transfer request or something. I'd be surprised if Sneijder went to City in all honesty.
Nah, it's ova. Ova.

Nah, it's ova. Ova.

I just think it would strange for someone to openly say he would love to play for a certain club but then move to their arch nemesis. Unless of course Sneijder wants out of Inter and is pissed that we won't stump up the cash. He could that type of player, who knows. But if you were thinking of moving to Manchester anyway then....

I'd be surprised if this is what he writes. Earlier he twitted:

Would treat the Gazetta report on Sneijder-City deal with care. Details later. #mcfc #mufc

Twitter - Paradise for the attention whore.

'i'm going to tell you something later, stay tuned in for it'

So he's going to tell us we've 'officially' ended our interest in a player we were never 'officially' in for?

Groundbreaking. And hours before the Sunday tabloids go to print...

The thick cnuts of bluemoon have started quoting this thread.

You know your still shite when the only thing you can get over your nearest 'rivals' is a transfer, which hasn't even transpired yet, so quote this one feckwits.

Why would they not quote this thread.it's pretty embarrassing for united fans.

I see this is another fruitful day in the Sneijder transfer saga!!! Another big 'story' is set to be released just in time for the Sunday morning papers.

Let's just sign Seth Johnson and be done with it

Why would he ask to leave when they've already said he can go if they get the right offer?

If Inter say he could leave for the right offer, then no one forcing anyone's hand but if Sneidjer says he wants to leave, then he is forcing Inter to sell him.

What if, we are no longer interested?

Yeah, we get it.

You're a top, top red. A t'riffic red.

I'm a shite united fan compared to "top reds". Can't ever get an away game. Often miss a match for work, and I don't know a lot of chants. But what do you expect bluemoon to do? There forum is full of idiots . But undoubtedly some goodl lads, and it's obvious this thread is silly. What do people expect. I'm glad there isn't a redcafe goes into meltdown thread

Wow this is impressive. "Everyone knows he's a top red but when (sarcastic) praise comes his way, he's such a gentleman and shyly defers it to other more 'worthy' fellas who happen to be his best mates." -type of feel really shines off that post.

I'm in awe.

That could be true. I am not saying that is not a possibility but I think we are trying to delay it and not cause too much attention. Every penny we save in transfer fees could help fund his wages if we decide to get him.

I wont be surprised at all - fergie might prefer all attention being focused on sneijder while he might have something else in mind.

Apparently the newspaper website we were directed to which will reveal this 'exclusive' first is owned by the Abu Dhabi govt so I don't expect it to be good news for Utd. I still think if we put in a bid he'd reject City.

I would if he was given an option of choosing City or staying at Inter, what would he do?

My impression is that staying at Inter might not be an option - unless inter sells someone else like eto. They need the money.

I couldn't take them cnuts gloating if Sneijder did move to them.

If he goes to City then he goes to City but I think he'll only end up at City if we're not prepared to stump up the dosh.

At the end of the day Sheikh Mansour (not City) can afford to buy him for City. We're a football club and should stick to our guns regarding what we're prepared to pay.

He wouldn't be the first player and he certainly wouldn't be the last to want a move to United and not get it.

Where have United publically stated that they want Sneijder? There's a load of furries on this thread who seem to think Uniteds very future hangs on getting Sneijder. Fergie might not agree.

City can't even sell out their Community Shield tickets. The day any United fan feels embarrassed by City is the day they've forgotten what United means.

We never publicly stated that we wanted Ashley Young.

But hay!!

We never publicly stated we wanted Joe Cole either. But plenty on the forum still thought we were certs to buy him.

We don't know the full story. There are no ITKs as regards United.

This is true. I think Sneijder is a great talent but there are several great players out there that might improve our squad, but we shouldn't be concerned if they don't come here, whether we want them or not. I'd be much happier to see Anderson, Cleverly, Pogba or Morrison develop in a top class player and not spend a penny. However, I believe/believed that Sniejder would be a good player to fill that 3-4 season gap whilst they develop fully. However, having looked at our previous success with blooding youngsters and the great achievements of Dortmund last season with a very young midfield then we should not be overly concerned.

It looks most likely that we can't pay the fees and his wages right?
We don't even know whether we're after him or not.

If we are though it's more likely that we won't pay the fees and his wages rather than can't. We'll stick to the price we think he's worth and he'll have to stick to our wages policy. Doubt we'll break either just for him.

25 days, 3 hours, 42 minutes.

I want this thread closed...

Correct. We publicly stated that we DIDN'T want to sign him. Good example.

Ah who gives a toss, eh? It'd be like when Harry Kewell chose Liverpool cos we were, apparently, on the way down (don't you regret those words Harry?) So Sneijder goes to City so what? Let them celebrate getting him if they do we take pride in trophies not trying to "one up" City. We've got broader horizons. In 2008 their biggest boast was that they did the double over us, ours was that we did the double winning the League and the Champions League. We're a bigger club with bigger ambitions. No need to worry about what City do. If Sneijder wants to go there just like with Tevez and all their welcome to Manchester stuff...it doesn't mean jack.
