If we wanted a player like him, we would have signed him a year ago when he went to Inter for £12m or something. At £30m he'd probably cost now there's fat chance of us making a move.
If Fergie wants him and he explicitly wants to play for us, then there's no way it won't happen.

Well he's one of the top 10 midfielders in the world at the moment IMO, therefore he should be on par.

Sneijder was one of the best players at the 2010 World Cup as his performances helped Netherlands to the final and the midfielder has recently been linked with a €30 million move to Manchester United.
It was reported that the 26-year-old failed to agree terms on a new contract at the San Siro last Thursday, but Moratti insists that the Dutchman will be staying at the Treble winners.
"I think this week he will renew his contract," Moratti told Sky Sport 24.
Sneijder has two-and-a-half-years left on his current Inter deal and appears to be focused on his future at the club, as he has spoken of his desire to link up with international team-mate Ibrahim Afellay.
The PSV playmaker will leave Holland in January and is reportedly being targeted by a number of top European clubs, including Arsenal and Atletico Madrid, although Sneijder says he wants him to move to Milan.
"Afellay is ready to leave the Netherlands," Sneijder told Voetbal International. "To [the city of] Milan would be good. I told him this personally, he knows how highly we regard him at Inter."
