Hahaha! Would be hilarious if he went to city!

The muppet suicides would certainly be funny. This thread would need to be deleted.

If it turns out that Sneijder wanted to go to City for the money then the muppet reaction won't be "feck that prick, he's no use to us if he's just looking for the money".

It'll be " wah, wah, wah, why won't we spend freely like City do! I want a sugar daddy Arab owner!"

fecking hell.

I seriously wonder how UEFA will have any credibility left when they find some excuse not for kicking City out of the C.L in 2013 - because there simply is no way in hell City can match the financial fair play without cheating (like sponsoring themselves)

Still nothing on our team. unproven as well. Some of you have been embarrassing throughout this entire saga. Who gives a feck where he ends up.

marcotti is giving the story a lot of credibility.

This might just beat Barca.

I'd say man to man it's as strong as our team or better. It certainly has a much, much better midfield, wingers seem as good and if Aguero settles well he won't be that much worse than Rooney. Whether they would be able to link up well is another question.

I would be seriously gutted if he were to go to city. I've been saying to some mates recently that if we were to get Sneijder are squad would be the best its ever been. But if he were to go to city i honestly think i'd cry.

Not really but i'd be mega pissed off.

Talking of Rooney I reckon the rumour mill will start up about him wanting out because we didn't get Sneijder.

If you spend unlimited funds then eventually you'll build a league winning side. There is absolutely no control on Citys spending. Chelsea are frugal by comparison.

People can moan about the Glazers, with good reason, but even the PLC version of United would not be able to spend like that. Only a sugar daddy Arab owner would allow that.

Meh, we've dominated their midfield everytime we've played them. Dzeko, Toure, Aguero, doesn't matter who they add, they'll start fecking crying about being there two months into the stay. They might have bigger names, they'll no way beat us.

Let them have Sneijder. We'll have Anderson, Giggs, Carrick and Fletcher.

Some of you throughout this whole thread have been Sneijder fans. He's not our player, he's never played for the team you support, yet you're quite clearly as much of a fan as him as you are of players like Carrick or Anderson. You've gotten yourself into a ******** over someone who the club may not even be after, and when you're gutted you've only gotten yourselves to blame.

I don't really buy into muppetry and I've not spent a great deal of time thinking about Sneijder, but their midfield totally outclassed ours in the FA Cup Semi.

Clearly a media stunt by Inter.

Otherwise why is it announced now when its 'almost' done?

Interestingly, other italian sport sites like calciomercato.com, tuttomercatoweb and corrieredellosport.it, are not reporting it.

Not sure what the fuss is about as Sneijder has never been the player we need. We need a CM not a ACM as we already have enough options in the squad to play behind the striker but are still short as far a top quality CMs go.

I'd love to think we've are looking at the likes of M'villa.

Nobody would be truly surprised if Sneijder went to City, given their spending power. However, how many times have we all read such shocking exclusives on the eve of a major cup final (as Inter and A.C. have this afternoon) only to later find that the stories were rubbish? Whatever the truth of Gazzetta's story, it'll mean more sales/hits for them...

If we were seriously interested and this is true... then it just shows that all the value, hardman stance and other tactics to get a decent price are so out of date.

It will lead to nothing with City, Chelsea, Madrid and Barca around.

Inter CEO Paolillo said 'really not true' when I asked him to confirm report saying deal agreed to sell Sneijder to MCFC. 'Just speculation'

Course it might not be true. It might be completely made up. That's obvious. It's hilarious just watching everyone get into a big fuss over nothing. Last night we said goodbye to one of the clubs all time legends, and whilst he's playing his last 75 minutes in a United shirt, some fans would be at the ground or glued to their tv/monitor savouring it all. Wr8_United and Devilish were in this thread saying how Scholes reminded them of Sneijder. If after Paul Scholes scores a 20 yard screamer in his last match ever, and you're firs thought is to pop to the big thread on redcafe, you're a pretty shit fan in all honesty. That's why this thread is going to be hilarious whatever happens. Too many people care too much about players who might ever play for our great illustrious club.

You're 100% right. Our strategy has time and time again proven not to work. It's so annoying buying players like we do, and winning nothing, whilst Chelsea and Madrid run away with everything under the sun!

Agreed, or Banega or De Rossi. I feel these type of signings will help us get the best out of what we already have in midfield.

I'd given up on Sneijder anyway. The pre-season is all but over now and I always think you need to get players from abroad bedded in as early as possible.

This doesn't make City buying a player we've been linked with all summer any less of a humbling experience, though.

cue mass suicide if sneijder sign for city, lots of sneijder fanboys here that want him to come will be devasted...

Plus Modric is better suited for United.
