Ferg: What was that quote(?) the other day
Cass: .........I can show you my copy I sent. Do you think I'd..(?) Eh?
Ferg: Don't (I'm no') say(in) another word. You and your paper can feck off.
Just reading online it seems the story was changed from the quotes being Fergie's to a "United insider". Does anyone know if that's true?
I'd still wager Fergie gave him an off-the-record interview (or at least he thought it was) and Cass either chanced his arm or the paper changed it knowing he'd gotten it from Fergie. I don't think a (seemingly) respectable journo like Cass would risk losing access to Fergie by making up quotes like that.

Just out of interest, does anyone still think that we don't want to sign him?

That is fairly plausible, and my guess too.
Eric Cantona urges Manchester United sign Wesley Sneijder claims Inter Milan star reminds him of himself - Transfer News - MirrorFootball.co.ukCantona exclusive: United should buy Sneijder - he's the new me
Eric Cantona has urged Manchester United to land £35million Wesley Sneijder, insisting: "He reminds me of myself."
As reported by the Mirror earlier this week, Inter Milan midfielder Sneijder is mulling over an offer to quit Serie A and become Old Trafford's record signing.
United legend Cantona said: "Sneijder is one of the best. He will be great for the team."
The Frenchman returns to Old Trafford this week, 14 years after his retirement from the Reds, for Paul Scholes' testimonial.
And Cantona has fully endorsed 27-year-old Sneijder's ability to inherit the mantle from Scholes.
Speaking at the London launch of a book on iconic US side New York Cosmos, where he is now director of soccer, Cantona said: "Sneijder is an excellent player.
"He is what Manchester United needs. There's no-one like him right now.
He's strong. Sometimes he reminds me of myself."
Cantona established himself as one of the best players in United's history during his time at the club.
He is regarded as playing a key role in re-establishing the club as a force after leading the Class of '92 to four Premier League titles in his five years there.
Cantona also clinched two League and FA Cup Doubles.
Inter have repeatedly played down the chances of Sneijder leaving the San Siro, maintaining he will play in this weekend's Super Cup game against AC Milan in Beijing.
Inter's chief executive officer, Ernesto Paolilli, said yesterday: "Sneijder is here and he's an important part of our team."
Inter coach Gian Piero Gasperini said earlier this week: "He's playing for us, training with us and he'll play on Saturday. There is no Sneijder problem."
United, however, have until the end of the month to seal the deal.
And earlier this week Sneijder himself refused to rule out a move to the Premier League champions.
The midfielder, who would have to his Inter wages of £250,000 a week slashed, said: "There is always a chance something will happen but we will see."
Everyone has a price.
I almost feel sorry for Cass now

Yeah, I sad that above. They've definitely changed the online story, but not the title.
Between Daniel Taylors shit about Fergies miscommunication about Berba and this, the press really are scum. But it's the idiots who believe everything they read in the press that make it possible.
Just out of interest, does anyone still think that we don't want to sign him?
Has the Mail changed the story? It now has a 'source said' instead if Fergie even though the title of the story says Fergie said it.
You blew it Sneijder, insists United boss who is confident with current midfield crop | Mail Online
fecking hell. All the muppets saying 'Bob Cass is Fergies mate so it must be true' and yet it sounds like the Mail were just making stuff up. May even have changed Cass's story without his knowledge.
It is Cass and the article was online just before KO. The video is from after the match.Well, so far we're not even sure if it's Cass and what they're talking about since as Maciek pointed out the video is from before the actual quotes that people assume they're talking about appeared in Mail.

But why did Fergie get so angry about it? Was it because Cass was his friend and he didnt expect him to use his quotes or is it because it's something completely made up...or is there something going on about Sneijder?
SAF says the quote (from memory it was something like "There's a contract on the table, its up to him to accept it")was made up. Cass seems to be alledging that the Daily Heil either twisted SAF's words or made something up.
If he's so furious, it must be because he wanted to keep the transfer quiet until it was definite ( maybe )
This is the most plausible.
Cass shares a good relationship with SAF and usually has good inside info. He'd be foolish to give up this sort of access for one piece. Especially with the Mail changing its story now.
