Nothing important ever happens during first half's injury time

Indeed. Giroud always scores while people are calling him a poor striker.most maligned players in redcafe matchday threads usually go on to score later in the same game
So so true he'll still be playing in 20 years time. And he'll still look exactly the same. He'll probably still be amazing too........For about the last ten years, Buffon has been 38 years old and every time a WC or Euros comes around, he's still there as Italy's undisputed number 1 Goalkeeper. Then there's a mention of whether he should still carry on and whether its time he retired as he's too old.
Then another two years pass by til the next tournament and nothings changed..

Switzerland have never been involved in an entertaining game.
In the last 20 years other than Ronaldo Portugal haven't produced a half decent striker
I apologise in advance if it feels like a rant. I feel like African players are criminally underrated just because they are african and people just use the "AFCON every two years" line as an excuse. Examples: 30m for Bailly is too much but 50-60m for Stones, Otamendi (last Year) or La porte is a bargain. 30m for mane is too much but lets break the bank for Kane or Barkley( a few seasons ago). Apparently Mahrez needs one more season to prove himself, but Ali is already a star. Schneiderlin for 24m is a bargain but Wanyama for 11m ,not so much.
Didn't everyone agree Wanyama was cheap? Last time I checked the thread most people were surprised Southampton would sell for less than they bought?
Actually, being from kenya, I have been reading what people say about the move on different forums and quite a significant amount of people don't rate him.
Most of those are examples of non-British player vs British player, and hence the issue there is not so much being African but the fact that English talent is scarce and therefore attracts a premium. Plus the obvious attention of the English press.I apologise in advance if it feels like a rant. The Portuguese squad always has a number of players who you'd swear had retired years ago who inevitably reappear come international tournament time: Nuno Gomes, Helder Postiga, Ricardo Carvalho, Ricardo Queresma...
Nothing weird about that.England will go out to France because England cannot beat any of the big international teams in a major tournament.
Bobby Charlton, Denis Law, and other players from that era, looked about 50 when they were in their 20's.
and George Best despite being a heavy drinker was the youngest and best looking of the bunch
Carlsberg don't do Premier League titles... neither do Liverpool. Match made in heaven.Liverpool are still sponsored by Carlsberg.

For it to be a proper Portugal team, you have to be able to say "well, he had all the talent in the world, but never reached his potential" to about 70% of their squad. The rest are the next bunch of potentials, and Ronaldo. The Portuguese squad always has a number of players who you'd swear had retired years ago who inevitably reappear come international tournament time: Nuno Gomes, Helder Postiga, Ricardo Carvalho, Ricardo Queresma...
