Weird feelings of football

Oppo teams would not be retinally adjusted. Wouldn't give a huge advantage but like the plaggy pitches it might give lowly teams a five per cent lift. And the image of clubs up and down the country each having their own uniquely coloured playing surface is a quite beautiful one.
It does sound nice. And would you have so teams pick a colour at the start of the season and have to stick with that then or can they change it up for different opponents?

1990s Italian footballers were the peak of technical footballers.

It's probably in their interests to stick with one, since it removes the advantage to have your own players have to readjust their depth of vision every fortnight. What might happen though is that the rich clubs have nineteen different coloured training pitches so that they can prepare specially for each game. As usual, money makes a perfectly sound idea unequal.

Only time we haven't is 1995 and 2005. By contrast, we haven't won it in even numbered years in 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010, 2012 and 2014. Definitely onto something there, although this season will put a blot in the odd numbered years.

Although that makes me notice...it seems to be every decade we don't win the PL in an odd numbered year.

1995,2005,2015 this is fecking creepy

We play Reading in the FA Cup more often than not, if we're both still in it.

Chelsea always get easy draws for ANY cuo tournament.

ECL Groups
FA Cups
League cups

They also never play anyone occupying the top 6 positions in the league

Any average player could go to Atletico Madrid and he'd automatically become a top player.

Wes Brown and John O'Shea are the same age, have played the exact same number of games in their career, scored the same number of goals, signed for United at exactly the same time, and were identical in ability and status for us, and now for Sunderland. The only thing separating them is their position (which is still close), their appearance, and their nationality.

John Terry became a left footed cultured passer some time around 2011, completely overnight.

Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole are the same person.

Tony Pulis has never won or lost a match in the Premier League - just a series of hard fought 1-1 draws.

Ronaldinho was better than both Messi and Ronaldo.

Yes I know the stats and trophies say the exact opposite and the actual truth is that both Messi and Ronaldo are better players

but

that doesn't matter ok......OK

Rooney never misplaces a long pass

Xavi and Iniesta have just kind of disappeared

Jovetic has no idea what he is actually supposed to be doing

Billy Davies is always managing Forest and when he isn't he is heavily linked with the job

Peterborough keep getting promoted to the Championship and then relegated back to League One

Solskjaer never once started a game of football.

Crowds at African Cup of Nations games don't react to what's happening on the pitch at all.

If I mute the tv, stand up or leave the room, this helps my team.

Januzaj and Jovetic are the same person.
The French football team could outscrum the French rugby team.
Saido Berahino took a dare that he'd dye his hair purple if he ever missed a one on one, even in training, but has never done so.
Redondo and Cambiasso are the only two defensive midfielders from South America.

The fans at Stamford Bride must follow the same philosophy.

A Barcelona goalkeeper has never had to use his hands.

Every time a bottom half PL side plays a lower league opponent in a domestic cup, the PL side loses.

Not one of mine but one weird feeling a lot of people on this forum seem to have is that Herrera is way younger than he actually is. I've seen people referring to him as a 'youngster' in the same breath as the likes of Shaw and Januzaj and treat him as if he's still a young lad learning his trade despite him being 25 and having 6 years of top flight football under his belt. I suppose the baby face is probably a factor.

They think he is small but he's taller than most of them at six foot

Well known fact, Herrera is really 16 and Diego Costa is his 39 year old father.

Black players are lazily compared to each other based on largely superficial criteria.

Arsene Wenger was 60 when he took over at Arsenal and remains the same age.

True, mind you England do produce a vast quantity of similarly small, quick black players who get overhyped then do absolutely nothing.

SWP, Lennon, Walcott, Ox, Townsend as examples.

Probably unfair on Walcott and Ox as both are very handy.
