If Jose plays him in midfield then we are in trouble. No engine, no vision, hardly able to trap a ball, cannot cope under pressure.

This constant pushing back of Rooney is just a sign of his failure. He started out as a striker, then moved back to number 10 and finally central midfield. At first he was not happy to play there because he was probably still good enough at 10, but now he is more willing to play there because he knows he is finished. Fergie knew it a long time ago. This is not a knee jerk reaction, I said weeks ago that any team with the slightest of ambitions to achieve success will not play Rooney in midfield and I stand by that. He can do a decent job at best in midfield, nothing more.
