Wayne Rooney | Leaves Plymouth by Mutual Consent

Poor decision to go there. Not sure where his career goes now

20% win rate in line with his other jobs, so shouldn't surprise anyone.

Sad to see him struggle, though probably for the best.

Hope he does more pundit work.

Surely he'll have a nicer life living with his family in Cheshire and doing punditry a couple times a week versus travelling back and forth to Plymouth and getting battered every week

Ah man. Possibly the last generation of United player I will care for long after they stopped playing. Wish him more luck wherever he goes next.

fecking hell he just needs to give management up it’s obviously not for him

Needs to take a coaching job in my opinion get involved with coaching for a couple of years

Remember this is the lad who after our greatest period ever told Alex Ferguson he was getting it wrong. Now sacked by Plymouth.

Certainly doesn't help himself with his choices. Plymouth was always gonna be a difficult job.

Wasn't that after Ronaldo and Tevez left and we bought in Owen and Obertan? Seems fair to me.

He didn't have many choices after taking Birmingham from a play-off position to relegation last season.

Also, there's "difficult" and there's "conceding a record 51 goals in half a season".

Needs to do coaching and take some time as a No2. Aside from Derby it's a managerial career that looks pretty terrible.

Don't think it was his place to tell the greatest manager ever where he's going wrong after he's just delivered our greatest period ever. Shortly followed by further success.

Even more ridiculous now we can see his own managerial ability.

Yeah for 3 games or so
Ta.

When you think about tennis (okay not a team sport) but so many top players are good coaches. Why doesn't Rooney just coach a young elite level attacking talent one on one or become an attacking coach (like in rugby)? Otherwise he will be taking management jobs in Cyprus or the lower half of the SPL soon…

I think he loves football too much to not work in it. He’ll be managing Kettering before he gives up completely.
